When Trumpo gave a massive tax cut to the rich while we were 27 trillion in debt and it caused us to become 31 trillion in debt so the rich could keep more of their money.

Overseas tax havens + corporate tax rates (whereby they shift the cost onto the consumer) + + cheap labor via millions of migrants lowerimg the amount citizens pay in taxes + a too low CapGRate = huge deficits and debt.

I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of these factors and more. Where else can we keep our money?

Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Margaret Johnson Arndt for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.

Why is "fair share" always referred to as extorting the lesser payer a bit more to make up for a difference. Why don't the law makers ever argue for the greater payer to pay less to be even with the one already paying less?

I never paid taxes (legally). You see , compensation for labor is NOT income. But they conspire to get you to pay it anyway! Without gold or silver, it's just a number.

National debt is the beast at the door. The way out of this is not touch taxes but lower government spending. That means entitlement’s are on the table. Cut off all welfare and programs. Too bad Social Security was never yours to begin with and the politicians can pilfer it anytime they want as it's already declared a tax which in its face/concept unconstitutional in the first place.
Let's go to first principles. Taxation of income, wealth and property is fundamentally unjust. It is theft. The only ethical taxes are consumption taxes. We need a constitutional amendment that repeals the 16th amendment and replaces it with a prohibition on all taxes on income, wealth, and property, and mandates that all taxation at all levels, federal, state, and local, be based exclusively on consumption.
Laffer, that may have been true when almost all companies doing business in the US were from the US. But now, with so many foreign companies saturating our market, the lower tax will just result in MORE money leaving our country.
Keep taxes unchanged for corporations.

I’d like to know what Mr. Laffer thinks about the fair tax amendment. Deal boards brought it up maybe 10 years ago. I think they re-introduced it last year. Seems to always get squashed by the powers that be. But I think it would be a wonderful toolto set our economy free
This claim of the allged effects of tax reduction has not been shown in „deeper history“. Reasonable tax policy is not simple. The best policy is flexible and has a defined structure and looks at the structure of the economy! Even Adam Smith said that the rich should pay a bigger share!

Key word is income tax. The tax rates from the 1950’s made things affordable. Income tax can be avoided by the mega wealthy easily as they leverage debt. The tax evasion from the mega wealthy create the huge U.S. debt. Corporate propaganda. Wake up sheep 🐑! They will eat your homes!
Also taxing fixed assets would easily balance the budget. Russian oligarchs cannot flee when large assets are taxed. You can let go of a stadium or a skyscraper but then someone else will get the revenue and the mega wealthy are not magic once they get good at making money via assets that’s the only way they can make that amount of money.
