I love how « no respect for the police » in that documentary is like 100 times more respect compared to today’s population ! (Sorry bad English im not from arround here)
This is true. Police officers are disrespected a lot in 2024. I have a few friends that work for various agencies in Southern California, and they have to deal with a lot of stress on the job, on top of the pushback from the public. It’s not easy being a police officer in CA these days, especially when you have a District Attorney who refuses to prosecute criminals.
Officer Mike Porter is besties with a friend of mine. Porter is one of the funniest people I have ever known. Maybe it’s a defense for all he has to see, so sooo funny.
I remember they took us to Mt Olive prison when I was in elementary school. It wasn't like scared straight but some of the prisoners stories were heartbreaking.
Good ole Jokewood. It never rose to the status of a Southend hood. Director Dennis Hopper lived there when I patrolled back in the day. Now, all those homes are probably worth over $1.8 million. All the gangs got pushed out.
Video is probably from 98-02, right after the infamous Rampart CRASH scandal that shook the whole country and the department. Giving birth to the movie Training Day in 2001 based on Rafael Perez.
Fun fact. His son never got a chance to use the karate he learned. He joined a gang and started carrying guns in his teenage years and ended up spending most of his adult life in prison.
@@darrellmartinez16it happens more often than you think. I know a guy whos dad was a high ranking police officer too, and now his son is a hells angel.
19:42 😂😂😂Kids got to learn real soon that the poh-lice comin' to get they daddy's real soon 😅 ...and then they're not going to like the police, and the cycle went on and on
Actually that 17 did know more than that cop. A weed is a drug, it’s not dope. Dope is like heroin and coke and shit. And today weed is legal but dope is not. I wonder if he saw this today both of them. Because the 17 knew. He knew.
I always laugh at these documentaries especially from back in the day cops would always play nice for the camera but once they turned off everytime they would stop someone like you watched numerous times in these videos theyd grab you and slam you into a fence or kick you to the ground and scream at you dont move alot of innocent civilians went through the sane crap they werent gangbanging or nothing but got their pictures taken and thrown into the gang book under a random area crew and once they were designated a gang member even if they werent they were slapped with a gang injunction LAPD messed with alot of people
You can dress anyway you want. He may just like rap music like me and enjoy Urban or ghetto culture like I do and many people do. I express myself with how I dress maybe he is into his culture rap culture. Like white people do too. I love rap too. I may not dress like that but I would date a boy who dresses like that. I like Black guys and a lot of people dress good. My brother does. What’s wrong with dressing like you’re good or like the hood? He is racist towards his own kind. You cannot assume he’s a gang member for having low pants. You are a Black man too. That’s something a racism republican would do a Blackman? Stupid pig cop. He can wear what he wants. He may just love rap and hood culture that doesn’t mean he’s a gang banger. I love Black people I enjoy hood culture. Don’t judge it. Especially if you are Black too. At least we have culture. Smh
Right. So true. How the fuck are you going to be a Black cop but not like Black people. That makes no sense. It’s like normal to be a Black cop and not like other Black people.
YT moderator....care to explain why you've taken down my comment 4X? Let's try again: These "kids" are the perfect example of why we need wars. This is cannon fodder going to waste. Back in the day, these losers would be drafted, run through basic and shipped to the front line of the current war. Good way to asses the strength of the enemy.

I also realized that
Actually, you did a great job summarizing that
Exactly what I said! 😅 Those cops wouldn't stand a chance in this day in age

What Year is this????
i think somewhere between 1998 and 2001
Mid to late 90's.
Judging by the baggy white tees I say 2002-2005
I believe this series was filmed in either 1996 or 1998
Wtf Those kids are way too damn young for that police station field trip
I remember they took us to Mt Olive prison when I was in elementary school. It wasn't like scared straight but some of the prisoners stories were heartbreaking.
Absolutely 💯 !

Love the mom telling her son to shut up
Interesting how times have changed. A lot of those ped stops would be unconstitutional today
they were then, people didn't know their rights.
At 17, he knew the difference between marijuana and dope... Says a lot about the times.
What’s the year? Early-mid 90’s
“The teachers have spotted some of the children’s fathers on the wanted posters.” Very sad
6:27 bro cops are literally intimidation too lol
Its reminds me when I was kid when I was
walking down the street.
@15:23 that boy got beat back to 1776 by Gma after they got home haha
I wonder what became of those little Kids? Talk about a stacked deck!
Those kids remind me of myself. I was a kid in California around their age. I was maybe 5 or six by the look. I’m 33 now. Man I’m getting old!
@DayaBallard It's all relative. I'm in my late 50's! I think my mid 30's were the best.
Stay safe.
Drop part 5 🔥🔥🔥
Damn me watching this just shows how corrupt cops were back then 🤣🤣
Arrested that kid for weed and now they got legal shops all over the state. So that kid did know what he was talking about!

@@thegamingredneck1879 yea it’s true. I have family who grew up with that kid.
