  • Kanchanaburi is a picturesque town in the west of Thailand, located approximately 130 kilometers from Bangkok. It is known for its beautiful natural scenery, historic landmarks, and relaxing atmosphere. One of the most popular attractions in Kanchanaburi is the Bridge over the River Kwai, which is a historic railway bridge built by Allied prisoners of war during World War II. Another attraction in Kanchanaburi is Erawan National Park, which is home to the stunning Erawan Waterfall. The waterfall is made up of seven tiers, each with its own natural swimming pool, and visitors can hike up to the top to enjoy the breathtaking views.
If you have the time we would recommend staying for at least 3 days to get to see all the wonderful things. In this video we go to the river kwai bridge, Meena café and Erawan falls. we would definitely recommend going to these places when visiting Kanchanaburi.
If you're looking for a place to stay check this out😱

I've lived in Kanchanaburi for 6 years, it's a beautiful place. The bridge is called the River Khwae Bridge but they changed the name because tourists kept getting wrong, I think because of the movie. The locals still know it by its original name though and you can find the original sign down by the main road.

More than 10 years ago, I loved going to Erawan Waterfall. I've been there about 8 times. and will only go in the summer because summer is best for swimming Although the amount of water is not much, but it is clear at the top of the waterfall. In the old days, there were many people digging for gems. But at present, the park officials probably won't allow it.
Kanchanaburi still has Japanese gold from World War 2 buried underground. that treasure hunters seek
If you are lucky enough to find some gold in the forest somewhere that would be wonderful haha.

    • @jadeandjason.
      @jadeandjason.  Год назад +2

Thank you for the tip about going in the summer it's probably a lot warmer aswell. When we went it was a little chilli😅 wow we never knew about the gold!! That's extremely interesting. I'm surprised they don't don't have treasures hunt tours🤣

@@jadeandjason. In 1998, it made big news when an 82-year-old spoke about him working with the Japanese military at the time.
He told me that when the Japanese soldiers lost the war They buried their treasures in the caves and along the construction of the railroad tracks. Both the gold and the many valuables were numbered as one train carriage. They were divided to hide.
The government has been mobilizing a search force for months. Later, nature conservationists in the country protested because the search caused massive damage to forest and wildlife resources. So everything ended
In fact, a number of treasures have been found. There were American bonds at that time as well.
But like journalists, they are blocked from real news.
Not long after, 6 treasure hunters smuggled into the cave.
They all died. The reason was because they went deep underground and suffocated.
Later, many people tried to smuggle in to find the treasure.
The story of those treasure hunters They say that when night falls
There will be a female voice singing. The sound of war prisoners asking for help in the darkness of the forest
Kanchanaburi is a fertile forest area and there are a lot of Anopheles mosquitoes.
At that time, many people died of malaria when they went to explore the treasure.
Nowadays, forest officials are very strict with smuggling and digging treasures in the forest.
And smuggling in to do so can lead to imprisonment for 1-10 years according to Thai law.
And this is the reason why things are slowly becoming quieter.
