Love the videos! Just subscribed. You now only need 9 Can we get more information on the Coast Guard? Or maybe the national guard. Peace time awards would also be cool.
Very interesting! I would guess the military society badges went away, once the VFW & American Legion (both of which I belong to) implemented the garrison caps…. The badges for both organizations are available, but few wear them.
Hello sir, was curious if you could do a video on the medals of Confederate Veteran society’s and their offshoots like the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Military Order of the Stars and Bars, all of which have their own membership medals.
@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 Thank you sir, the United Daughters of the Confederacy came out with a medal called the Southern Cross of Honor, that was awarded to Confederate Veterans who served honorably throughout the war, my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather was awarded it in the early 1900s.
Can you wear Society Medals like the Sons of the American Revolution, Military Order of the World Wars, and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War on the U.S. Military Uniforms today in 2023?
The military order of the serpent was founded in 1906 and required membership in the united Spanish war veterans. It was primarily a social order similar in nature and function to the cootie Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 40 and eight of the American Legion. I did not display it because it was after 1900. Thank you for bringing it up.

I'm confused so does this mean only military personnel that qualifies for this can wear them? Or can civilians as well?
Does that Congressional authorization still exist? Does it apply to the VFW medal?
yes for the VFW
Is the "Order of the Caribou" supposed to be "Order of the Carabao"?
I know right carabao and caribou are two different animals.
ha, I will correct that today, thanks 😊

Only when attending a military society event. You could wear one to a ball or such, but not every day
Recently i saw a chaplains medal of honor being sold on Ebay. Was that an authorized medal or a commemorative?
commemorative medal
@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 brilliant. Thank you Col. Foster
I suppose the military order of the serpent doesn't count

Please stop playing marching music while you describe the medals. It is distracting and makes it harder to understand what you are saying.
Thanks for the feedback...can't seem to get the right volume...maybe as you suggest just dropping it.
@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 I like a march as well as any vet but I really was having trouble getting your full description of the awards.
