I don’t know any professional artist who would draw or paint out of their head. I think you are right though in that it is a misconception. “Real” artists look extremely carefully at what they are trying to draw and draw what they see and not what they think they see. Now that you understand this , it will open a path for you. Enjoy your creativity now as it is limitless. P x
