    Thanks, Bill and Andy for a lovely trip to Dawlish. The "then and now"s were interesting. Always good to look at places in days gone by and Andy's local knowledge adds that little bit extra. The waterfowl look to be doing well. What a devoted Mum Kimba is! Hope all goes well with the hatching of the eggs and the cygnets after that. 😀

      The Bristol Re was a fantastic tool & I can still smell the interior trim , never drove one because of the lack of power steering, we used to have an old bus driver’s saying “Strong in the arm and weak in the head “ when it came to driving the older stuff without power steering, I think I contested for both .

Im just about old enough to remember veichles with no power steering I learnt to drive legit of course lol . in my dad's mk2 golf gti no power steering and a heavy car I'd imagine the busses would have felt like that. Did you also have crash gearboxes andy. I'd love ❤️ to see the 60s and 70s again rover p5b. Jenson interceptor are my two 😍 from that period. • @andybyrne50
      @andybyrne50 6 дней назад

      I agree, the Bridge does need a lick of paint, but sadly that won’t be happening anytime soon as it’s owned by Network Rail and they have consistently said that funds must be spent on important projects.The station is under the management of GWR and that’s why that’s getting refurbished. Still , I suppose I can live in hope that the colonade is one day in a nice green paint job..again

    Hey Bill lovely video and some great then and nows. Thankyou Bill and Andy. Hope you are feeling well now Andy. The book shop up beach street was owned and run by railway author and photographer Colin Marsden. Often went in there to chat with him and had a great selection of railway books. Assume he no longer lives in the area as the book shop long gone. Always good to see an old pic of a Western on the Devon coast even though Geoffrey sees one every Monday when he volunteers at Williton on the WSR but he is currently working on one of their Hymeks.
