Yeah I'm glad you reacted to this because I think for people who are newer to k-pop and didn't really know much about SHINee they might not know how talented Jonghyun was and how big an impact the group had on k-pop. It's a tragic loss regardless of those things but maybe because of who he was it feels even more like something impossible and unimaginable happened and there's this hole left behind in the k-pop landscape.

I can't tell you how thankful I am to see someone truly appreciate SHINee's artistry, even with all the subtle ways they go about it. I remember downloading this whole album the minute it was available, and listening to the song and god the wait for this mv to drop was A G O N Y. It was actually the first SHINee comeback that I was able to anticipate since I got into them when Ring Ding Dong came out (which by the way you should totally react to). I knew Jonghyun was gonna give me this whole ass look and it was gonna kill me bc from the moment I saw him in the RDD mv I knew this man was something special. Thank you, seriously thank you my dude for showing them all this love and respect even if you never knew them. It didn't even occur to me that this damn video was seven years ago until you mentioned it. I wasn't there from the beginning beginning, but still about a year into their career, so I was privileged to watch them grow up as well. Jonghyun was seriously talented, and so so genuine, and it really does help me cope as I'm sure it does many others to see people still appreciating him even after he's gone.

It is 2021and I am still watching this. Love the group, vocals, harmony, dancing. They start off at level 10 and never let up. Miss Jonghyun - his talent lives on thru his fans, music and video's.

Jonghyun was always the most extra member of the group. they have been my fav group since 2009 and I'm heartbroken over his passing but I'm happy that I got to know them when I did.
In my opinion 2009-2012(maybe2013) was the most lit in kpop. After that I feel like it got way too competitive between fans and groups aren't as original as they used to be. Don't get me wrong, there are a TON of amazing and unique groups out there right now, but kpop back then was just something else, yknow?
YES, YES, YES! I still miss 2ne1, Big Bang was bigger, 4Minute, f(x), Girls Generation were the biggest girl group of the time, Super Junior! It was certainly one of the best eras. But I still miss the early days with BoA and DBSK (now TVXQ).
I understand what you mean. But I think when we discover our first era kpop and we fell in love thats something special. So if you knew kpop like in 2009 you are going to prefer like "old school" kpop (super junior, Shinee...). Me, I fell in love with the "actual" kpop (blackpink, bts, exo(btw for me exo are in the middle time line)). So when I listen the oldest song of kpop that's just weird, but I can recognize the new kpop group is inspired by big bang and other. In fact, what I want to say is we can't be really neutral when we have to decide which era was better because that's depend when you discover kpop. :)

You should watch their live performances, they really give everything when they perform. Some good ones are Excuse Me Miss, Stranger, Evil, Nightmare, Everybody, and Sherlock (Clue + Note) . The channel SHINee World IV has really good quality videos.
I feel like I can completely relate to your reaction, especially at the end. I get it. I am pretty new getting into K-Pop, started with BTS because my daughter liked them. When Jonghyun died, I didn't know who SHINee was and my daughter didn't either, so we both started listening to their music. And then it was like I started to mourn after the fact, because I could see the talent of this group and could tell how much they must have impacted so many people. I mourned for those fans who must have been crushed by the loss of Jonghyun, mourned for this man who had so much talent and light to share with the world but just couldn't stay, and mourned for myself not ever getting to experience that light while it was still here. It's a complicated set of emotions but it's like I watched them all play across your face at the end of this video.

And to see someone be as blown away by them as I was when I first saw them makes me so happy. SHINee were my first group and they hold the most special place in my heart. Jonghyun was a talent like no other and I miss with everything that I have. Onew's Falsetto I just brought myself to listen to that song again the other day. I was listening to songs on my phone on shuffle & it came on & I was gonna skip past it bc I thought I would feel too sad but I decided to listen to it. It was one of the first kpop songs I listened to. Me & my friend would laugh at how it sounded like they were singing "missing John Vo" bc there was some kid in my middle school named John Vo 😂 That song brings back so many memories & I thought that if I listened to it again I would be sad... but for some reason I wasn't. I just felt really proud of Jonghyun. I love him so much & I'm just incredibly proud of him for everything he's done & accomplished in his time although it was short. And I'm thankful to him for all his hard work. This man will forever have me shook though 😂❤

I remember I told my sister I didn't believe that Jonghyun could hold that note for the whole time in live performances... and then she said, "Oh, but wait..." and she showed me a live... I was blown away. From then, I started looking at their discography and fell in love in Jonghyun's voice. He became my favourite singer. Then, he came out with his own music, showing his own talent as a writer and composer. I was so happy I found him... and so broken when he left. I'm still recovering from this lose, but I continue to support the other 4 members. Again, thank you for taking interest in SHINee. ^^

I haven't been able to watch a SHINee MV since Jonghyun's passing, it is too close to home. I've been listening to k-pop since 2009, and they are one of my favourite groups since the beginning (5HAWOL for life), making me smile every time I feel like shit. I think it helped me watching it "with you" to not lose it completely. Thanks B, for this big personal step.
Lucifer is an iconic K-pop song. There are many other iconic songs you should check out. You are correct about us getting to see them grow up. Taemin, the maknae of the group, was only 14 when they debuted. All of SHINee were incredibly young when they debuted almost 10 years ago and therefore we've gotten to see them grow up and mature over the years. The guy who kept singing is Jonghyun. The guy with the really long hair is Taemin. The second rapper with the knit shirt is Minho. The one with the shaved parts on his head is Key. And the one with the fur in the back of his vest is Onew. Merry Christmas. Rest in peace, Jonghyun. We love and miss you, angel. Edit: also, SHINee are well known for their difficult and complex choreography. I recommend checking more by them.

The first time I listened to this MV Jonghyun's long note leading into Minho's rap segment also helped my becoming a long time fan of SHINee. Jonghyun's voice was so unique and beautiful. It's sad to know we won't ever get to hear it again except in echoes of past performances. I wish the best for Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin in their future endeavors as SHINee and pray Jonghyun has forever found peace.

you should do Mirotic of TVXQ, you won't regret it, it is one of the most iconic music video in Asia. TVXQ's vocal is the the best among the first gen of Kpop. Jonghyun, he is, to me, still one of my top 5 KPop vocal. Such a talent and loveable person.
I'm so grateful to say that I had the chance to see SHINee when they came to LA for the LA Korean Festival a couple years back. Now that I think about it, a lot of disbanded groups or groups with members that left, I was able to see (4minute, SISTAR, SHINee, BEAST, SNSD...). Anyway, they performed Lucifer at that concert and it was so amazing!

Welcome to the joy/pain of being s shawol - Shinee were my gateway drug into kpop just like BTS have been for you and the last week was super tough but I look forward to you hearing more and seeing more - the video that got me was Sherlock (choreographed by Tony Testa who was MJ’s choreographer too) and 1of1 which is a proper new jack swing throwback but their real strength is their live performances and that’s what hurts so much - that we’ve been robbed of that talent 😢

I can't tell you how thankful I am to see someone truly appreciate SHINee's artistry, even with all the subtle ways they go about it. I remember downloading this whole album the minute it was available, and listening to the song and god the wait for this mv to drop was A G O N Y. It was actually the first SHINee comeback that I was able to anticipate since I got into them when Ring Ding Dong came out (which by the way you should totally react to). I knew Jonghyun was gonna give me this whole ass look and it was gonna kill me bc from the moment I saw him in the RDD mv I knew this man was something special. Thank you, seriously thank you my dude for showing them all this love and respect even if you never knew them. It didn't even occur to me that this damn video was seven years ago until you mentioned it. I wasn't there from the beginning beginning, but still about a year into their career, so I was privileged to watch them grow up as well. Jonghyun was seriously talented, and so so genuine, and it really does help me cope as I'm sure it does many others to see people still appreciating him even after he's gone.

SHINee is the best. I got into K-pop some 10 years ago because of them. Never will I stan harder than for SHINee.
In my opinion 2009-2012(maybe2013) was the most lit in kpop. After that I feel like it got way too competitive between fans and groups aren't as original as they used to be. Don't get me wrong, there are a TON of amazing and unique groups out there right now, but kpop back then was just something else, yknow?

YES, YES, YES! I still miss 2ne1, Big Bang was bigger, 4Minute, f(x), Girls Generation were the biggest girl group of the time, Super Junior! It was certainly one of the best eras. But I still miss the early days with BoA and DBSK (now TVXQ).
I understand what you mean. But I think when we discover our first era kpop and we fell in love thats something special. So if you knew kpop like in 2009 you are going to prefer like "old school" kpop (super junior, Shinee...). Me, I fell in love with the "actual" kpop (blackpink, bts, exo(btw for me exo are in the middle time line)). So when I listen the oldest song of kpop that's just weird, but I can recognize the new kpop group is inspired by big bang and other. In fact, what I want to say is we can't be really neutral when we have to decide which era was better because that's depend when you discover kpop. :)

I feel like I can completely relate to your reaction, especially at the end. I get it. I am pretty new getting into K-Pop, started with BTS because my daughter liked them. When Jonghyun died, I didn't know who SHINee was and my daughter didn't either, so we both started listening to their music. And then it was like I started to mourn after the fact, because I could see the talent of this group and could tell how much they must have impacted so many people. I mourned for those fans who must have been crushed by the loss of Jonghyun, mourned for this man who had so much talent and light to share with the world but just couldn't stay, and mourned for myself not ever getting to experience that light while it was still here. It's a complicated set of emotions but it's like I watched them all play across your face at the end of this video.

I know this video is a little dated but man, your reaction literally brought tears to my eyes. It warms my heart to actually see someone appreciate the talent and the synchronicity that SHINee have. And to see someone be as blown away by them as I was when I first saw them makes me so happy. SHINee were my first group and they hold the most special place in my heart. Jonghyun was a talent like no other and I miss with everything that I have. Onew's Falsetto I just brought myself to listen to that song again the other day. I was listening to songs on my phone on shuffle & it came on & I was gonna skip past it bc I thought I would feel too sad but I decided to listen to it. It was one of the first kpop songs I listened to. Me & my friend would laugh at how it sounded like they were singing "missing John Vo" bc there was some kid in my middle school named John Vo 😂 That song brings back so many memories & I thought that if I listened to it again I would be sad... but for some reason I wasn't. I just felt really proud of Jonghyun. I love him so much & I'm just incredibly proud of him for everything he's done & accomplished in his time although it was short. And I'm thankful to him for all his hard work. This man will forever have me shook though 😂❤

Thank you so much for reacting to this video. I'd known SHINee since their debut in 2008, but this song solidified me as a SHINee fan. I remember I told my sister I didn't believe that Jonghyun could hold that note for the whole time in live performances... and then she said, "Oh, but wait..." and she showed me a live... I was blown away. From then, I started looking at their discography and fell in love in Jonghyun's voice. He became my favourite singer. Then, he came out with his own music, showing his own talent as a writer and composer. I was so happy I found him... and so broken when he left. I'm still recovering from this lose, but I continue to support the other 4 members. Again, thank you for taking interest in SHINee. ^^

I haven't been able to watch a SHINee MV since Jonghyun's passing, it is too close to home. I've been listening to k-pop since 2009, and they are one of my favourite groups since the beginning (5HAWOL for life), making me smile every time I feel like shit. Lucifer is an iconic K-pop song. There are many other iconic songs you should check out. You are correct about us getting to see them grow up. Taemin, the maknae of the group, was only 14 when they debuted. All of SHINee were incredibly young when they debuted almost 10 years ago and therefore we've gotten to see them grow up and mature over the years.
The guy who kept singing is Jonghyun. The guy with the really long hair is Taemin. The second rapper with the knit shirt is Minho. The one with the shaved parts on his head is Key. And the one with the fur in the back of his vest is Onew.
Merry Christmas. Rest in peace, Jonghyun. We love and miss you, angel.

The first time I listened to this MV Jonghyun's long note leading into Minho's rap segment also helped my becoming a long time fan of SHINee. Jonghyun's voice was so unique and beautiful. It's sad to know we won't ever get to hear it again except in echoes of past performances. I wish the best for Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin in their future endeavors as SHINee and pray Jonghyun has forever found peace.

you should do Mirotic of TVXQ, you won't regret it, it is one of the most iconic music video in Asia. TVXQ's vocal is the the best among the first gen of Kpop. Jonghyun, he is, to me, still one of my top 5 KPop vocal. Such a talent and loveable person.
I'm so grateful to say that I had the chance to see SHINee when they came to LA for the LA Korean Festival a couple years back. Now that I think about it, a lot of disbanded groups or groups with members that left, I was able to see (4minute, SISTAR, SHINee, BEAST, SNSD...). Anyway, they performed Lucifer at that concert and it was so amazing!

Welcome to the joy/pain of being s shawol - Shinee were my gateway drug into kpop just like BTS have been for you and the last week was super tough but I look forward to you hearing more and seeing more - the video that got me was Sherlock (choreographed by Tony Testa who was MJ’s choreographer too) and 1of1 which is a proper new jack swing throwback but their real strength is their live performances and that’s what hurts so much - that we’ve been robbed of that talent 😢
