Well, I mean, 'DICE are bringing back Battlefield's best bits in one game'. That's quite literally what they said when they came out with Battlefield 2042. Let's just see what they're releasing.
This time someone way more credible said it, but yeah, we can't trust them.
if it's true the game director that fixed bf4 came back and is developing this game we have a fucking chance
Kinda depends on whos saying it, but yea i can see why its hard to take seriously without knowing much about the game
@@jgsource552 just dont get your hopes up so when it releases you arent disappointed
@gibby4962 so many of you guys keep saying "no pre order" and all that stuff like you cant trust them when the only objectively bad battlefield game was 2042, they didn't lose shit. They only made 1 bad game so calm down🤦♂️
What i want from BF2025:
BF3: Modern Setting, Map style
BF4: Vehicle combat system mixed with parts dmg like tracks from BFV, Pre-set Vehicles on the maps itself, Weapon attachment system, first person melee animations
BF Hardline: picking up medi/ammo from players, showing the area where u can capture the flag
BF1: overall gritty atmosphere, sound design
BFV: the overall movement options, destruction + fortifications, squad-call-ins, body dragging pls , in/out vehicle animations, ammo/health stations on flags for infantry, gunplay mixed with little spread mechanic from BF4
Nailed it!
We need them dog tags too
nothing from 2042? lol
@@saigadreamcast the plus ➕️ system/weapon attachment wheel
I'd prefer an updated movement mechanic akin to BF3 if I'm being honest.
Perfect Battlefield game:
- BF3/BF4 style setting
- BF3/BF4 gameplay
- BF1 atmosphere, sound and graphics design
- BF5 mechanics
You’re forgetting Dedicated servers….. outside of portal.
And commander mode. I still play that to this day.
bf2 classes: 7, not 4
Some bfv mechanics, bf4 physics... with everything you said, and it's a wrap
bf4 heli physics most importantly
Major concern for me - I don't want super fast movement of modern COD.
It will be there, because this is what sells.
@ but it doesn't sell
That'll hopefully be:-
BFBC2 destruction;
BF3/4 style maps and variety, gameplay and amount of content;
BFV movement, graphics and (hopefully) defence fortification mechanics;
BF1 immersion, detail and;
BF2042 ish weapon customisation...
bfbc2 destruction is garbage for gameplay and u cant have bf3/4 flow with it that's a contradiction
@@rax2200bfbc2 destruction defo wasn't garbage _precisely_ because it could be used _tactically_ You've got an _opinion_ - good for you, but it doesn't make you any sort of expert so 🤫😏
I don't want anything from 2042.
Bring back the fortifications system and squad call ins from BFV ! Such a good feature of 5, was really sad to see them gone when 2042 dropped
Wtf are you crazy lol nothing from bf5 real bf players only consider bf4 3 bc2 bf4 bf2
@ sorry to offend the battlefield inner sanctum lmao, was just a feature I thought was good
I actually did like that feature. I could see it maybe like the BR mode or a special mode. I dont know if I can see it in the base game though. @@seth3978
@@MrTD714🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
@@seth3978those features were good, don't listen to what he said. 😅 I want to see then coming back, too. 😂
worth mentioning that David Sirland back in BF4, BF1 was just part of supporting studio DICE LA, so he didn't have much of a say about direction of the game but he still managed to turn around BF4 via CTE. This time he is Producer in main DICE studio so maybe he came back under condition he will have more say.
cautiously optimistic is the perfect way to describe the situation with the new battlefield
Apparently the marketing department doesn't eat their bread for nothing.
Honestly It's still a worrying statement. If they got all those bits working together correctly that would be great. However I'm still worried they won't be able to make them all work together quite that well.
I have the same feeling. We have to take everything they say with just a grain of salt
Remove cross play. Take the best from Bfbc2-B1 and we good. Also, stop nerfing vehicles and leave out the obvious broken stuff just to fix it in a patch.
@maze1914 I agree with the crossplay thing. I like crossplay, but only between consoles. PC needs to stay in there own lane for many reasons.
BF2 was my first BF game and still the best.
Damn right bro BF2 all day every day
BF2
BF2 IS the best BF
I still think about Strike at Karkand to this day.
So many great memories. BF2 is legendary.
That online mode was my first online shooter binge
I'd love to see hardcore back , there was a small but loyal community in bf 4 and it was so much fun
Yeah I hate running out of bullets when going behind enemy line...
The question to ask is, the best bits according to who? Because if you use reddits opinion as a baseline then you'll have the worae battlefield in history. So saying that they are bringing the best of Battlefield really isn't saying much, there's not enough context to know if thats a good thing or a bad thing.
It will mean a return to the modern military themed style of BC2/3 and 4 with destruction turned up to 10.
It will have classes.
That's all the most vocal haters of 2042 want, they aren't the smartest bunch of people around.
Well best bits is kind of subjective.
Like myself I think the suppression system battlefield 3 was one of the best things about it especially for the support class that allowed them not to be just assault rifles with big magazines and bad accuracy but gave them an actual role in combat The ability to suppress enemy team allowing your assault and medics to get in there and push I thought was great and so did a lot of people I played with. So for me that would be a great addition to at least give support the suppression from battlefield 3. I also know though that there was a very vocal group that hated this oppression from battlefield 3.
DICE finally realizing that,
Best bits of BF > best bits of other FPS games
Battlefield 5 had some really cool mechanics with tank armour facings, angles, and armour pen on vulnerable areas. I'd like to see that nuance return.
As a Tanker I just want the tank play that we had in BF4 that was by far the best vehicle play of the series for me and I hope they bring back the attack boats as well they were also a blast.
Idk how many times I've gotten glancing blows on a tank then went on to get killed by said tank. I really hate the tanks in BFV. The whole team has to be diverted to address the tank issue then get strafed by enemy infantry. I'm pretty sure two tank mines simultaneously isn't enough to destroy a tank in BFV whereas that was a bonafide kill shot in bf3/4
Agreed. I think BF:V had a lot of great and immersive mechanics that really fit the Battlefield style/theme.
Just sucks the game was overshadowed by its poor launch.
I hope that they bring back the diving underwater feature from previous games!
If I were to cherry pick what game elements on each Battlefield to bring in the upcoming Battlefield those are:
- BFBC2 Class Structure
- BFV Movement but less floaty
- BF4's gunplay but with less spread that allows you to engage in "medium ranges like in 30-40m without bursting"
- BF4's Vehicle Spawn System
- BF4's Vehicle Physics and Weight
- BF4's Vehicle Gameplay
- BF3's Maps
- BFV's Ammo and Health Stations in objective
- BFV and Hardline's ability to grab ammo and health kit from Support and Medic teammates
- BF4's Infantry and Vehicle Balance
- BF2's Commander Role/BFV's Squad Leader Role
and the ability to lean around corners like in bf1
100% spot on. The only thing I’ll add is that tank turrets move closer to newer instalments rather than how they did in BF4 with high sensitivity.
@@nikogramz If thats the case I would suggest that rpg's are only pick up weapons since you want the tank turret to move slow. I think thats only fair.
@@idontwannatypeaname BFV movement already let you lean in corners
@@mrdappernature8861 Agree I don't like the turret speed in the newer installment especially in 2042, it took a year convincing DICE that it wasn't good and it needs buffing but even then it couldn't top off BF4
BF3 had something for everyone, whether you just wanted close quarters infantry or open vehicle focused combat. And the BF3 vehicle model was very good. I'd like to believe EA have learned, but we will see.
Jumping should make shooting almost impossible. No jumping ADS and add a good 80% bullet spread modifier so sure, you can get lucky but it's stupid to do it other than as a last ditch effort
This.
How to make the most frustrating gameplay possible because you cant aim at a moving target
@peacemission305 If you're bunny hopping around and drop shotting then you don't deserve to hit a target
BF2 was my first ever bf and got me hooked from there when i was a wee teen.
What i wanna see personally if i had to pick out of the battlefield games..
BF2 classes felt unique and rewarding to fit your role on the battle field like 7 classes to chose your style but most likely they will mold some classes into one etc.
BF2142 had titan mode which i would love to see that come back.
BFBC2 destruction and gun sounds and audio was nice.
BF3 for me best maps period and even better with the dlc's.
BF4 for me just had more guns which was nice and some okay maps.
BF1 atmosphere was nice but game got dull too fast lack of guns etc.
BF5 only thing i would honestly take is the movement crouch sprinting sliding and 360 aiming while prone.
now mold all theses into 1 game and it's a winner ... and then we can forget 2042 even happened xd.
We really don't need sliding like BFV had
I am a "World War" Battlefield fan, having started playing with the release of Battlefield 1942 back in 2002. Battlefield Vietnam was fun as was Battlefield 2, although I prefer the WW2 setting. I played BF2042 prior to its release, but the bundling in with third-party spyware made me decide not to buy it. I was frustrated by the move to consoles and thus Bad Company and Battlefield 1943 not being available on PC. I loved Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 and especially its DLCs. Battlefield 4 had some nice features, but it was such a mess when it was released and was so close to BF3 that I couldn't really see the point.
BF 1 was incredible - I would have preferred fewer automatic weapons because it would have been more authentic, but the tanks, the war stories and the maps were so incredible. I think in many ways, BF1 was the best game for immersion. With the announcement of BF V returning to WW2 I was so hyped - but then the focus towards "modern audiences" started being shown and the move away from authenticity.
Still, I decided to buy the game and while I thought it was a step down in some areas from BF 1, it was still a decent effort and I enjoyed playing it. The controversy around DICE fiddling with the gunplay mechanics was really bad though and I stopped playing for a while, taking a renewed interest when they walked back some of their changes and then released the fantastic Pacific maps - only to then start fiddling again with more pressure from EA.
I almost stopped playing BF completely when they announced they were dropping support for BF V to focus on their new game and it was only the inclusion of the Portal mode that made me purchase 2042 at all. That game was so bad. From open maps that were mostly bare and looked like something from a game twenty years old, to the removal of classes in favour of "specialists".
I hope the next BF game goes back to its roots - and I also hope I can upgrade my system at some point so I can potentially play it.
I'm fan of Modern Warfare but I do apperciate World War settings though it's been overdone at this point
Battlefield 2 squadplay/commander mode and maps would be great.
I'm an audiophile. I do appreciate the sound design of games to make it feel very immersive like youre actually there but games from BadCo2 or BF3 and up had very poor to no spacial sound design. In fact you could jump up n down behind anyone even swapping guns etc and they would hear NO sound. In fact it did make it very frustrating you could never heard footsteps or guns shooting nearby and not know what direction it came from (most of the time)
After trying Delta Force with Steam input and it being jenky as hell, I decided to download BF2042 again and try it out, and honestly, I have to admit it’s a lot of fun.
Yes, it’s missing key features, but the core gameplay is honestly fun as hell.
I appreciate the decent servers, fluidity, and the good TTK. And the visuals are absolutely gorgeous, despite the maps feeling a bit empty.
I haven’t played 2042 in months but it’s obvious they did a lot of work and got it in a good state before they abandoned it. 2042 is honestly my preferred BF at the moment. It’s not BF1 and in some cases, like servers and TTK, that’s a good thing…
BF3 = Map designs and vehicle physics (specially helicopters)
BF4 = gameplay
BC2 = full destruction + dogtags enemy collection
BC1 = Acta non Verba map, explosion visuals 😊😊
Nothing remarkable from the recent ones.
BF3 had better vehicles than battlefield 4 it felt heavier like there was a weigth to it you can feel it. In battlefield 4 it is still good but vehicles felt more like drones and mini cars. Not as much depth as in BF3 and no one can change my mind. Helis felt heavier and tanks felt like actual tanks. Fa-18 felt so good like the guns and rocket pods felt really good and heavy. BF4 vehivcles felt more thin and light.
BF2 was the best! If they take anything from that game, it should be commander with boots on the ground and commander assets. It’d be nice if jets and helis had to return to base for reload (and repair). Of course, I’m one to like to see movement speeds slow down. I know I’m never gonna get limited sprint again, but it did make BF2 more tactical.
Couldn’t agree more with the BF2 comments it was also my first battlefield and I don’t think it’s been topped tbh.
Battlefield 2 is the most battlefield feeling title in the series. It had the best teamplay whilst not feeling like a milsim, and the faction weapon and vehicle variety was good (even if it was faction locked) and the maps were big, but felt very lively when populated, as opposed to 2042. Sucks that battlefield 3 is often where all the attention goes in regards to "the good old days of bf" battlefield 2 doesnt get enough credit imo. Bf3 is definitely one of my favourite games in the series, but you can see the cod influence sorta come in there in regards to customization, that being said, i do believe bf3 and bf4 nailed the weapon customization.
bf3 unmatched character model animations (frostbite 2 e3 trailer) and audio engine. bf4 setting and vehicles behaviors. bf1 visuals and immersion. bf5 movement elements. bc2 destruction. sound like perfect battlefield i dream of
BF5 has so many more elements than just the movement that need to come back in the next installment
I think maps/modes is such a huge thing. They need to be able to cater to both people who prefer infantry and people who prefer vehicle combat. It doesn't even matter if the rest of the game is perfect if the maps/modes are underwhelming.
Well BFV provided exactly that, we had a healthy variety of small, medium and large maps catering to infantry or infantry/vehicle play AND the haters still weren't happy.
Who here played sandbox from bf2
And wish they would bring some bf2 maps back in. Or dlcs like spec ops from bf2
Maps: BF3 style. Aftermath = best DLC ever. Levolution from BF4 was mostly cool. Also liked fortifications.
Vehicles: BF4. loved the MBT.
Guns: BF4. Great variety and freedom of choice.
Server browser is essential!
Progression: Bring back "real" military ranks instead of meaningless endless numbers. Level 100 shitbucket should be the endgoal and it should be hard to achieve. MVP medals! bring back some sort of battlelog to see why you wasted so much time and dont ever experience daylight.
BF2 was king for maps
I can’t wait when this game becomes 80%-90% off in 1 year
My take on this is the following:
They plan to build a massive Battlefield Universe, right?! Maybe, just maybe, one part of it is the core Battlefield the Veterans (myself included) are longing for. Maybe, the whole Bf Universe means, we get different versions of Battlefield, e.g. one for the Twitch kids, one OG back to the roots version, a casual one, a mobile one, a competitive one, etc.
I know that will take some time and work, but maybe that is the plan and I for myself would be very happy about it.
Features from past titles:
BF2 - Classes; Commander Mode; Squad Cohesion; interactivity between the team;
BF2142 - Mechs!; Titan Mode;
BFBC2 - Rush only maps!; Sound design; Destruction; Vietnam DLC; Best Single Player Campaign (regarding tone, Story and Characters);
BF3 - Map design; Style and tone; some of the Weapons (KH2002 I really, really miss you); DLC variety and the great ideas behind it (Aftermath was so good, totally different uniforms, Vehicles and features just for this DLC was such a great idea, bring that back!); the three person Tank-Crew synergy was also great; progression system; best Single Player Campaign (regarding grittiness);
BF4 - Gun play; Vehicle Design and handling; meaningful Levolution, with real impact on the map, but don’t lose focus on the playability; Ribbons, Dog tags and service stars; weapon customization; DLC Variety;
BF1 - tone, maps, overall scope; bring back horses!; Operations and Frontlines where some great new ideas;
BF5 - Squad Call-Ins for Squadplay, this time for really sticking together 😅; Movement, especially crouch sprinting; Fortifications - meaning- and impactful; body dragging?!;
BF2042 - Plus System; Vehicle Call-ins, but this time only Transport Vehicles; some Movement features;
Overall:
do something with Conquest! Levelcap did a very good video about evolving, modernizing it, some time ago. It definitely need some changes, like special Objectives to capture it, with benefits holding it … e.g.
In addition to your points, I would like to see the movement and fortifications of BF5 and maybe some bf2 maps like strike at karkand and road to jalalabad. Maybe just the best maps of all Battlefield parts as updates, two new and 2 overhauled maps per season would be great.
I mentioned this on another video (probably Doom49) but usually the marketing from the BF3/4/1 eras were gameplay focused. Yeah they had cinematic and story driven content, but they loved showing the games off when they could. 2042 they hid as long as they could after that initial reveal. If they’re keen on us playing this so early, and want us to see gameplay, we might be in good hands. Be skeptical, sure, but I am curious.
DO NOT PREORDER!
one of the biggest features, points/score accumulation in the center of your screen, aka 1000+ streaks when you cap flags, heal, kill etc in a short time span, in 2042 it doesnt work like previous battlefields, also crosshair/hitmarker/reticle color/size/opacity (basically copy bf4 settings into the next game, just add a visual window to the right, so show the changes in real time
Hopefully, they go as back as Battlefield 2 from 2005. That's the game that made me a fan of the this series!
12:51 This really loads my Geometries at 62%
Oh man, the memories seeing the loading screen stagnate at 62% for a few seconds 😂
My small wish list:
- NO RETURN of SUPRESSION. if supression is added it should only be visual(option to turn it on and off), not if someone missed you with multiple shots your gun would randomly spray bullets everywhere and you would not be accurate. Suppression should not affect bullet spread!
- bf5 movement mixed with bf4 advanced movement, usefull sliding(NOT cod sliding!), like sliding to cover(NOT cod slliding), crouch spring, leaning, climbing, rolling when falling from heights, first person takedowns etc.
- bfbc2 and bf3 dens map design
- bf4 weapon variety and customization
- bf4 vehicle feel
- gunplay I can feel the weight of the weapon and recoil
- bf1 atmosphere/immersion
- server browser, I miss to be able to choose what maps, region, see ping, how many players, community servers with high 128tickrate servers, see if its a new or end of a match before I joine a server, add favorit/save community servers with people you like to play with and custom settings.
- Persistent Servers
- return of 64, 32 and 16 player maps and modes
- Traditional class system
- meaningful destruction that can make maps play different, not too much destrucion that makes maps flat with no cover.
- scoreboard with KD.
- NO SBMM and EOMM
- official 128tickrate servers. minimum 64tickrate
- remake of all fan favorite maps from bf3, bf4, bf2 and bfbc2 with DLC maps.
- shooting range
- Playercards and dogtags, dogtags showing a relevant number, like highest killstreak, kills with a certain weapon, etc
- Spectator mode
- killcam
- Being able to start your own server like Communtiy games/Portal
- Better quickmatch filters that can remove maps you dont want
-- Dogtags to steal + that you can see who you stole it from
- Bannercards to earn with challenges
and ofc smooth polished, optimized game with alot content on release!
Suppression is a must, its critical for immersion and the BF4 flight physics were dogshit, BF3 flight physics were peak. Actually felt like there was weight and inertia to the vehicles.
@RealFuzzyPickLE530 visual supression is fine I guess. Not when noobs shoot at your direction and your bullets fly to mars.
Bf flight physics was trash? Sounds like a skill issue, there was a huge skill gap in bf4 vehicles gameplay.
@@ruumelan Suppression should not affect bullet spread that's right, it's enough if it's visual and makes it harder to see.
@ I agree. or have the option to turn it off and on
@@ruumelan bf4flight physics were dumbed down for the masses, bf3 had a larger skill gap
BRING 👏 BACK👏 BATTLE👏RECORDER
Battlefield 2 felt like they took the Desert Combat mod from 1942 and iterated and made it into a full game. Many great times with friends in our 20s with BF2 all the way to BF4.
Just give us BF3 remastered with 64 players. Thats all we want. Stop the bullshit.
The teaser that they showed was definitely scripted. But that 10 second teaser had more details than the whole 2042. I also think BC2 had the best audio design among any BF games. It also won best audio design award for that.
they ALWAYS say its "in game footage" or "capture in game" "not scripted" and than its ALWAYS scripted.......
As a BF OG here's my short list:
BF3 approach to the game play.
BF4 physics (especially vehicle physics)
Remove the silliness from the game. I.e. a player cannot jump 12 feet across the map, turn and shoot you in mid air.
No "My little pony skins" It's an all out warfare game . . . camo should be camo. guns can have themes,
Stop GhostGaming from ZouZou game play tactics :-)
Special maps for special modes. Some maps don't play well in other modes.
64 player limit
Gamers can have a choice to play cross-play or not, not be forced to play a game that has mixed keybinds and unfair adaptations of physics to account for each gaming platform within the game.
Try to maintain 60 tick servers
Don't . . and I mean DON'T !!!! attempt to appease gamers using toasters and other legacy kitchen appliances to game.
If they can't afford a car they can't drive. If they can't afford a gaming platform or computer, they can't game.
EA - You lost a lot of gamers who would have stayed and payed for skins etc.
If that toaster person cannot afford proper gaming gear, they sure as hell cannot afford to purchase skins and battle passes.
Did I mention "Stop Ghost from . . " :)
EA/DICE need to not make more than just a cursory swipe at cheating.
Ramp it up, so there are more deterrents and more frustration for the cheats.
@EA @battlefield there are additional solutions beyond the Kernel Anti-cheat.
More on that shortly. or just reach out.
===================================================
Mid way through BF4, it was obvious EA was pushing to attempt to garner more market share from CoD.
The problem was they tried to be more like them, and lost their identity
Although Battlefield is a different game style,, it has a different player base.
Battlefield tends to have more mature gamers with established disposable wealth.
I.e. they can afford to play, and afford to pay.
CoD works on the "garner as many kids as possible and perhaps some will purchase . . " business model
Here's my advice: A billion flies eat shit. Doesn't make it right !
My final comment on all of this.
EA/DICE the industry is in chaos right now, they timing is right to show up with a solid, entertaining and enjoyable product.
anything less and you missed the boat.
Summary:
CoD is full of rampant cheaters.
Other game studios are shutting down and making sweeping financial down sizes.
Copy Cat game studios are falling short of the mark.
Stick with what you know!
Maps design, physics, environment, immersive experience.
Wasn't expecting my tweet to flash up on screen 😮
A lot more optimistic due to BF labs and David is honestly the best dev to have in place he doesn't sugar coat anything
Definitely DO NOT listen Creators, let alone plebs. There are heaps of people with profane understanding of the game mechanics (symthic) and what makes a good to play game. We don't need opinions from yes men and the idiotic casual crowd.
I’m all for jumping around corners as long as the hitbox and character model stay synced.
As a star wars fan I learned a very hard lesson of what nostalgia bait is.
Battlefield 4 feeels so much lifelike the environment has so much life to it the sound design is epic from that game the explosions going on in the map make huge echo’s making the layer of realism on top of graphics and other things ..2042 on the other habd feels like lifeless and sterile
DICE....just give us BF2 remastered!
ATTENTION dice employees: BRING BACK SERVICE STARS, DOG TAG KILL COUNTERS, CUSTOM EMBLEMS, MAPS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR RUSH, CONQUEST & TDM/DOM. (source: 5000+ hrs bf3 & bf4)
I’m just really concerned we arnt getting realistic/fun gameplay like bf3 ..but we will get that horrible arcade twitch shooter gameplay
Was wondering what happened to the well known FROSTBITE game engine. It disappeared after 4 and was not a fan of the destruction across 1 and V. 2042 was non existant.
they say that litterally every time they're about to release the worst dog shit ever so this is actually a red flag by now.
Just to be clear the best bits are not kernel level anti-cheat, microtransactions, and a battlepass.
not everyone even agrees on what is best. those who started with BF with BF3 or later don't even know about the gunplay of older BFs. in BFs after BC2, gunplay is rock, paper, scissors where certain guns are worthless outside of certain ranges, and mid-range weapons dominate the general infantry v infantry affairs without a counter.
i want older BF gunplay, BC2 destruction/ maps, BF2 and 1942 maps with buildings added. the only thing i think the newer BF's did better than older titles is infantry to air balance. the lock ons in BF4 were the best balance.
everything else i think the older BF's do better.
if they made the buildings in the older BF's non-decorative, that would give the players a lot of places/things to do.
2042 Fast parachute
BF5 Snipers; weapon skin customization, squad revive
BF1 Music, atmosphere, soldiers of different languages (i believe it was 6) Peacekeeper-like easter egg, dmr medic/assault anti-vehicle
BF4 vehicle balance and gameplay
overall: a bit silly weapons such as mare's leg/kolibri/liberator
each bf had their great maps (damavand, propaganda, locker/metro, amiens, rotterdam) it would be great to see some of them return. infantry/vehicle oriented maps
I like the bf1/5 tanker/pilot separate class with rather not great weapons or basic ones (not sure if community enjoyed it)
proper shooting range (cod/r6/thefinals)
Probably not everyone agrees on my takes, but well these are my opinions
People hate on the game so much but the amount of work it takes to build these games and maps this big with many of them is incredible.. nobody is doing it like bf. Maybe planet side or battlefront but these games rule for all out war
I hope they know when to hold their ground with a design choice. I can just imagine them making helicopters harder to handle but super powerful if you can master them bf3/bf4 style and the majority of the player base (casual community) saying it feels like shit, demand dice change it and and all of a sudden anyone can ruin a game by hopping in a heli and stomping the whole server. It’s good they they’re going out of their way this far to listen to the community but if they don’t have their own vision of a battlefield they want to make we’re gonna end up with a contrived mess
We need a cool looking progression system with interesting ranks and some reason to grind
Look at what Redditors want and than implement the complete opposite. Guaranteed succes.
I would love a complete remake of Battlefield 1942 with all expansions, that was for me (and most of the older gamers) the first real MMO experience. It was so damn good …….
Bring back All BF4 vehicle game mechanics, the best by far. BF3 vehicle mechanics were more 'raw' and great once mastered, but BF4 hit the nail on the head. As for BF1, beautiful game, even though in the WWI setting and the limited weapons available in that era, they were able to create great game play. I was particularly impressed with the storyline and the mentioned history of the battles. It made me think of how brutal war actually is.
Best things like being able to Grab ammo or meds from a teammate instead of finger fn the button asking for ammo/meds.
Hey Ghost, great vid as always. I was wondering if you had final thoughts on the stealth jet that you were using in the gameplay. Is that your favorite vehicle in 2042 right now?
The Draugr? Yeah I suppose it is! Closest thing to the good old A-10 :)
server browser, in game offline test range, 2042 takes so long to boot up, its crazy, its like the person who made the games load went to the finals lol
BC2 destruction
BF3 map design
BF4 gun and vehicle play ( minus suppression on gunplay, keep that out of the game)
BF1 atmosphere
BF5 movement
When I look at the games put out by EA, Activision, and Ubisoft lately, there's a mindset that says it all to why the games suck. They don't make games anymore. They have a model to make money and they use the premise of a game to do it, vs in the past, they made a game that in turn made them money. It's the perspective that makes all the difference. The fact EA is taking note on that (crossing fingers they fulfill it) and going back to making a game instead of ticking off bullet points and a spreadsheet, could mean a turn in the industry. I'm also seeing the same move with CIG. They realize that their marketing team can't keep polishing a turd to make them money, and they're forced now to make substantial changes toward gameplay and stability. If EA can show any margin of success by this move of going back to this old way of thinking, there's a small chance the whole industry could see this as "the better way of making money". We've been beat down for so many years. I'm hoping I'm not being too optimistic now.
DAMGE based on "ammunition" not from wepon to wepon!
the people who want "squad call ins" clearly were not around to play Battlefield Hovercraft Simulator 2042
we need to bring back Clans , a server browser and rentable servers.
Nobody ever talks about character, customization or personalization. Having a character that you make the face design 4 or that you get to dress, the way you want it to be.
While still being true to the faction, of course really makes you feel like the player is yours. Not just um cookie cutter paste in
I’m surprised it took everyone so long to see that tweet
GUYSS, REMEMBER THE SO CALL “LOVE LETTER” THEY WANTED TO GIVE US????? YEAH
Got back to BF4 a few days ago and I can’t stop, we had it good back then. Hopefully they actually mean what they’re saying.
They should reveal the game through gameplay like BF3
We absolutely need a server browser
Here we go all the RUclipsrs hyping it up like usual.
People have already used PORTAL from BF2042 and remade the best BF ever using perfect class system, only old school maps and vehicles and weapons, TTK etc The best Battlefield experience already exists within PORTAL. but everyone already left the game so people dont know. It will be perfectly easy for the next BF to be the best FPS of all time just by making existing assets fully destructible and cherry picking what everyone wants. I am ready to pre order
anything less than BC2 destruction is a disappointment
imagine they release so many trailers like they did for bf3? i would go crazy. bf3 was my first bf game
snipers using a sniper rifle in confined CQ FFS - stop allowing that FORCE them to use a pistol or smg in those CQ scenarios.
it's seen no one remember bf2. That was the best bf game. They should do a remake with destruction.
I just want a battlefield 3 remastered with a few popular maps from BF4.
Keep the gun class system
Medic
Enginer
Recon
Support
Keep the gun ranks and attachments simple. Unlock attachments etc.
Skin can be purchased.
The attachment system from delta force is just amazing btw... well balanced and if you understand what you are doing you would make great guns
BF4 maps weren't all that. The maps let the game down massively.
BF3's worse maps were better than BF4's best maps. And that's not good. BF3 maps (inc DLC's) all day long.
Sounds like they don’t know what they want to make = Imagine if Battlefield 1 had all the “best bits”.
Battlefield labs info from who? All the new bf cod players? Still missing the F'in point!!!
Just hope they do something about the clunky movement system and laser beaming ARs with no recoil, and that rpg animation
The biggest surprise in 2042 that came so unexpected (I'm sure for others as well) was that they had absolutely nailed so many things in previous games and even refined them, like BFV movement mechanics and it's like 2042 just totally scrapped all the good things they had going on. Vehicle gameplay in BF4 was absolutely the best though there were mechanics from BF1/V I liked too but 2042 vehicle gameplay is horrendous. Feels like "minigame in an open-world sandbox" level of polish. Just complete crap whereas in BF4 the vehicles had a great weight, nice balance to the infantry (there's always sweats but you'll never escape that). I was top 10 in my country in BF3 & 4 jets and I can barely use them in 2042. Awful stuff.
Not holding my breath or preordering, but I do have hope that the smack in the face of the 2042 public reaction will make them (and especially the executives chasing the Fortnite eperience) go back to core BF experience this time and stop trying to be something else.
"I believe it when i see it"
they said about 2024 ; 'this is our loveletter to bf4 ' . stop making naive vids for clicks . NO PREORDERS !
This! This is what I thought when I read the title, no more hype for me, for any game...
You're wrong. They said "this is a love letter to our Fans" when talking about PORTAL.
That was in regards to portal, "This is our loveletter to the fans*" They didn't say anything about BF2042 being a loveletter to BF4 fans cuz we know for sure it wasn't 😂
I'm pre ordering if I like what I see in the community tests.
Dice/EA "say" they are bringing back bf's best parts. Big difference. Let's just wait and see.
My only worry about the next title is that maps like Caspian Border and Kharg Island will go extinct in favour of tighter gameplay trending popular feedback.
You picked the exact same points i would pick from the previous bf games!
I would only add something that bf2(my first bf game) did really good: Squad play!
Zuzu broke your hitbox sending it into the floor making it impossible to hit.
Remove that sh*t
I am not a fan of Pro western warmonger propaganda. That's almost all on the industry it market battlefield cod etc . Politics aside battlefield is a great franchise for what it is. I believe the atmosphere from BF1 should be there. Artillery ships naval warfare construction should make a comeback from BF1 and BF5 . Dice will never go for making other non western countries the protagonist but I feel they should make a story from the other countries perspective like BF1 and BF5 tried to do. If there is a near future 2027- 2030 part in the latter part of the story then they should do experimental prototypes like BF1 and BF5 did. If there is a 2027-2030 part with NATO against PMC it should go all out with the most modern advanced near future equipment of the time and that Arc should be about the fall of NATO. If there is a 2027-2030 part which I don't think Dice will do because they want to focus on a classic modern true battlefield game.
I’m going to be brutally honest. The views of OG battlefield players are tainted by nostalgia. Games you play when you’re 16 are ALWAYS going to seem better than the games you play when you’re 32. When you’re 16, everything is new and exciting.
When you’re 32, you’ve seen it all. You’re remembering the amazing gaming experiences you had as a kid and confusing that with thinking the games were better then.
Dice are never going to satisfy OG gamers, because the feeling they’re chasing is impossible to achieve. Veteran players will always provide the most valuable feedback to developers, but even if you make the perfect game they’re not going to be satisfied.
