"Jiyuu ni naritiai." = "I want to be free." the girl is a spirit (ayakashi) and she's like trapped and the onmyouji helped her gain her freedom idk by getting killed because that's how most immortals become free (like CC of Code Geass).

I don't know the language, but I think the story goes that the woman is Amaterasu, the sun goddess, trapped in the form of an entertainer of men (judging by her clothes and the gifts from men). Amaterasu is married to the god of the moon. So she wants to be free to return to him. The man who visits her is a priest who exorcises spirits and he senses that she is not human, but it's only when he takes her out on the boat and recites an incantation to release the binds on her power, that she reveals herself to him and he chooses not to kill her. When she returns, she is met by the warlord who probably has been trying to buy company with the entertainer or marry her. I'm guessing that she responds unfavorably, and he decides that he will force her to choose him, since his money cannot buy her. When the priest is injured in the process, she unleashes her powers and the warlord attacks her out of fear. Her mortal body is fatally wounded, but it needs to be destroyed to return to the spirit world. So she pushes the priest into the water to save him and tells him that she wishes to be free. And stays to burn in the fire. In the end, the old man explains that she never forgot her true love. The moon. :D Might be all wrong, but that's my translation.

So the ruler's (or some rich boy?idk)love is rejected by the dancer girl, the ruler attacks the dancer and spread the news that she is an ayakashi. "Up until now,thank you" "I want to be free"she said to the onmyouji. I think he was want to hunted some ayakashi,but fell in love with her instead. Maybe incorrect but i just understand some part of it. Sorry for my bad English xD
