Sola scriptura - I am man of one book, a book I can’t finish but it finishes me!! The Word of God is my authority, my rock, my counsellor, my passion, my joy, my cross, my Christ, my patience, my meditation, my peace, my prayer, my truth, my teacher, my bread, my preacher, my beginning, my end. He declares “My name is the Word of God” (Rev 19:13). When I open His word I open heaven. When I enter His word I enter His kingdom. When I sit with His word I sit with Him. The bible is the only book whose author is always present when it is read. Jesus spoke His own words 3 times to defend himself from satan. Matt 4. When I digest His word I digest Christ. For HE says,
"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:54
“You seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you” (John 8:37).
They could not understand and remember His words. They could not see them as glorious nor compellingly beautiful. They heard the words, but they did not love them. .

I would love to attend a church as described by Paul. Though I have searched for many years, I cannot find it. PS Paul is my favorite pastor.
I have been researching through Scripture and find at least 22 things wrong with American Christianity compared to the early church. We have changed it so much it no longer resembles the church in the Bible.
Things are easier when you’re Presbyterian.
He once said (it may be here; I am typing this at 17minutes). that Osteen is God's wrath on America. He is not a pastor; he is a motivational speaker who tells people what their itching ears want to hear. I just pray people don't think he is "preaching the true gospel. Others are T. D. Jakes Furtick and Copeland. We are to expose darkness. Be a Berean and pray for discernment. God bless.

My view is that He gives people over to a reprobate mind just like in Romans 1:28 and they continue to listen to false teachers who tell them what they want to hear and who edify them in their sin. They are taught that they are the god of their life. They would go straight into denial over their favorite false preacher who teaches love of self instead of love for the Holiness of God.

Nowhere in The Commands of Jesus I can see that we ooght to be 'members' of a local church, and meet every Sunday! This institutionalization of The Church is the greatest hindrance to the extension of His Kingdom!
Those young little boys are practicing Hyper Grace, I went to one of those churches for a while, and was always questioning it. HYPER GRACE=CHEAP GRACE. If a gospel message you embrace results in a life of more sin or more acceptance and excuse-making for sin, then you can be sure that this is not a BIBLICAL gospel message, but a false gospel. People who advocate for carnal Christianity, or “free grace” as it’s often called, do not deny the necessity of good works (i.e., holy living) for sanctification, but they distinguish the call for salvation from the call to sanctification (or discipleship). Rampant is the idea that we can have Jesus as Savior, but not necessarily as Lord. Cheap grace loves the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, and baptism without church discipline....Communion without confession.... Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, and Grace without Jesus Christ.
dodgemcowgirl cheap grace! You have something critical to say about what Jesus did, die for all of our sins, went to hell, and rose from the dead and you call that cheap. You are mistaken. What Jesus did wasn't easy or cheap as you would say, and as far as what we do for it, it's free. So you are either saying that salvation is by works of yourselves but doesn't cost to much or is cheap or that want Jesus did was cheap. I agree the laughter from them was inappropriate, but the judgment from God was righteous against the worship leaders, but it was sad they were disobedient to the Lord.
Only ministries that I've ever seen have ads in it. Love Paul washer true Man of God! I would look into his ministries if anybody is interested because his words not disrupted by ads every 2 minutes and he's not trying to make money off of his word

Beloved Americans, when i first heard Pastor Paul Washers Shephered Conference 2016 sermon, i cried in hapiness when i think about Gods unfailing love for Americans in raising orginal faith torch bearers like Pastor Paul Washer and likes in the midst of chaos in Gods own Country. But some of you here are like Saducees and Pharsee trying to find fault in than being grateful and blessed. God is not going to judge us by doctrines, but all those who call on the name of Jesus. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe. 11. Command and teach these things.

I find it hard to believe that all of the churches are so bad. We're not going to find a perfect place. If they are correct in the main things, that's the most important. If it's more subjective things like maybe the style of music or how long a message is, or perhaps just people who are not as mature as we'd like, we can deal with that.
A danger I see is followers of Christ rejecting every church around them for reasons that are not necessarily biblical, and then that person going off on their own to "follow Jesus" alone. There is no such thing. We are to be part of and subject to the local body. It's for our own good, as well as the good of others. We need each other! That's especially true in our increasingly hostile culture.
Dovetail55 Leave. Do not sit and listen to what you know is unbiblical. The Word of The Living God does not ever want that. Follow Him, pray and He will lead you.

I wonder if Paul has encountered people like I have. When the Apostle Paul talked about "order to abstain from certain foods...," he was foretelling (maybe it was happening then?) the fashion where people demand that you abstain from meats (vegetarians), or all animal products (vegans) or any number of variations on that theme. Unfortunately, some Christians have fallen into this trap wanting to have the ideal world and wanting to go back to the Garden. They have fallen for the demonic lie. Also, there are many coming up now adding laws to the Word of God. I think this last one has always been a problem though. I would love to find a church where the pastor preaches the Word and w/power!
Paul wasn't talking about the unsaved world's diet. Look at the context, he was prophesying about a coming Apostasy, a departure from the Truth. The Antichrist Beast System dynasty of Catholic Pope's, with its fast days, no meat on Fridays, celibate clergy.

Apostasy is from those who say they are saved but never truly believe. A true Christian would never renounce their faith. A true believer is sealed until the day of redemption.
A true believer submits to the Authority of Christ& abides in Him. Submits to the authority of The Word of God, living by the Word.
Is in continual repentance and renewal through the holy Spirit of God by His Word.
Asking Jesus for help with everything the Word says to do and not to do.

Absolutely not! A person is saved by grace not by theology.
I’m a 5 Point Calvinist, though I prefer to say either Reformed or doctrines of grace. Having been raised Roman Catholic and not being saved until a few short years ago, I was unable to understand the doctrines of grace until then. God’s sovereignty in salvation is preached out from Genesis to Revelation.
There are certainly non Calvinists or Arminian leaning people who’s salvation I don’t question and I know are my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Why would a believer go to a church that does not preach the gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4. That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures.
That is the gospel message that we are to preach to all the world. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 6:23 For the penalty for sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, but the good news of the gospel is the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus finished work on the cross apart from any works or action on our part.
Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, (all of us), his faith is counted for righteousness. Without His imputed righteousness, no one will see God.
Just as David describeth the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness APART FROM WORKS. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Jesus paid our sin debt in full, so we could never be condemned again. John 3:18. Colossians 2:13. He has forgiven us ALL trespasses. Past, present, and future sins we have not even thought of yet. Paid in full at the cross when Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED" That is an accounting term, meaning paid in full. John 3:18
First John 2:2 For he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD. John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it. God cannot lie. John 6:40 and John 6:47.
Here I am going to cut to the chase. There is a great division in the church today. Why? Because the church is preaching the doctrines of demons, not the true gospel
Romans 4:5 Clearly teaches that faith is not a work. It is faith apart from works. And, the GIFT of God is eternal life, Romans 6:23, NOT FAITH.
First Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness, but unto us who ARE SAVED, KJV, (no being saved) it is the POWER of God.
First Corinthians 1:21. For after that, by the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of preaching, to save them that BELIEVE.
No on get the seal of the Holy Spirit until we believe that gospel. Ephesians 1:13-14 Our guarantee of eternal life. In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the GOSPEL of your salvation, in whom also AFTER ye believed, ye were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. The rapture of the church.
Back to Romans 6:23. The GIFT of God is eternal life. No one can earn it. It can only be received from God as a free gift.
Romans 3:26-28 For He is the just and the justifier of them that believe in Jesus. WHERE is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? By the law of works? Nay, but by the law of FAITH. Therefore, we conclude a man is justified by FAITH, apart from the deeds of the law.
We have to do nothing to be saved and nothing to stay saved. The GIFT of God is eternal life. PAID IN FULL BY THE GIVER. John 10:28-29. John 6:40. Salvation is free, no one can earn heaven. Discipleship is for rewards in heaven, (First Corinthians 3:11-15) and to keep from the chastening of the Lord. Colossians 3:5-6. The wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. Saved sinners.
First Corinthians 5:5. This was a born again believer who was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his life, and the rewards he could have had in heaven, but the man was still saved. God cannot lie. John 6:47. John 3:18. The man did get out of that relationship and came back into fellowship with the church and God. We can get out of fellowship with our heavenly father, but never our relationship
Hebrews 13:5 For He hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU. I WILL NEVER CAST YOU OUT. John 6:37. John 6:39. Jesus has never lost one sheep. Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.
First John 5:13 These things have I witten unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.
It is sad when an old 82 year old man has to preach the gospel because the church is not. Most are preaching a false gospel of works salvation.
Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, any will come before me on that day, and boast in all their good works. But, they never did the will of His Father in heaven. John 6:40, and John 6:29. All the good work in the world can not save sinners which we all are. We cannot be saved by keeping the law because we have already broken Gods laws. Galatians 2:21 I do not void the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Please. Just trust Jesus as the only way of salvation apart from any works.
You do not have to give up any sins, go to any church, give any money to be saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, an thou shalt be saved and thy house. Acts 16:31. John 3:18. John 3:16. See all you WHOSOEVERS IN HEAVEN. John 5:24. God cannot lie. John 6:47.
Jesus told Nichodemus unless you are born again in The Holy Spirit.. you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven..
When we are born again..we become a new person in Christ. The Holy Spirit dwelling in us gives us comfort, peace, joy and encouragement, helping us to overcome sin and guiding us in good works..

11. For The Grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.
12. Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and Godly in this present world.
@@carolineclarke3579 Yes, when we are born again, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30, we are guaranteed eternal life. But we still have our old sinful nature from our first birth. The new birth, or the new man can't sin, First John 3:9. Whosoever is born of God, doeth not commit sin, for His seed, (the Holy Spirit) remaineth in him and He cannot sin. But we still do. First John 1:8. If we say we have no sin, we are DECEIVED and the TRUTH is not in us. Self righteousness is not Gods perfect righteousness from the new birth. Romans 4:5-6. Romans 5:19-21 Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. Colossians 2:13. He has forgiven us ALL trespasses.
The new birth cannot sin. The old man still does. The flesh is not made perfect, only our soul/spirit is saved. We have our sinful nature till we die.
Can a born again believer become unborn again? No, Second Timothy 2:13. IF we believe not, (after we have once believed) He abideth faithful, He cannot deny Himself. The Holy Spirit that lives in the believer from the new birth seals us unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30.Whether we continue in the faith or not. If we keep the faith through trials and tribulations on earth, we will have a reward in heaven. If we lose our faith we only lose the reward. First Corinthians 3:11-15. Rewards at the judgement seat of Christ is for believers. Unbelievers, John 3:18, go to the great white throne judgement and are cast into hell. Believers can no longer be condemned. John 3:18. John 6:47. First John 5:13. John 5:24. John 10:28-29. Hebrews 13:5. He will never leave us or forsake us.

I agree that singing the scriptures are a beautiful way of worship, and I would take the hymns over any contemporary make-pretend Christian music any day of the week. My question however, is why the King James only? I have a King James Bible, and it certainly is a great translation.

The Dangers of King James: CAN'T IGNORE THIS!!! Here we go! If we are dedicated to going by Scripture, which translation are we going to prefer? The ONLY translation that contains the word Easter instead of Passover is the King James. You may ask, "What is the error?" Do you want your children to grow up worshiping a pagan fertility goddess, or the only true God who caused the angel of death to pass over the houses of the people Israel who had put blood on the doorposts and lintel? Our culture is more interested in eggs and bunnies than on the true meaning. What other Christian celebrations have been hijacked for secular purposes?

The 2nd time I read through, left me shaking my head. Many words had been changed.
PASSOVER was changed to EASTER Acts 12:4,
NOAH changed to NOE Matt 24:37-38,
ELIJAH changed to ELIAS Luke 9:30,
JEREMIAH changed to JEREMY Matt 2:17,
WINESKINS changed to BOTTLES Matt 9:17,
Many words changed to more modern words which is foreign to KJV language, like:-
President, chapel, occupation, aliens, stuff, college, suburbs, banks, revenue, mortgage, impotence, matrix, organ, advertise, couch, luggage, pilots, passengers, pisseth, buttocks, damsel, satyrs, unicorns, and many many more.
The 3rd time I read through I found many versus and paragraphs changed, added and deleted.
ISAIAH 11:6
I remember from a small child 'The lion will lay down with the lamb, the bear will eat grass like the ox, the child will play on on the hole of the asp and nothing shall be hurt on my Holy Mountain.'
Now it says the wolf will lay down with the lamb.
