My favourite part of Shadow's Ultimate Sacrifice is the genuine amount of respect and understanding Sonic shows for him in the aftermath, especially when Sonic is the last to leave Ark saying "Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog." It gets me every time.
That is a beautiful moment for Sonic. He's so light-hearted so much of the time, it can be hard to remember he's got a great deal of empathy.

My favourite part about that is the entire game sonic refers to shadow as faker, that fake hedgehog. And eventually he calls him shadow in the final fight and in the end he says. "Sayonara shadow the hedgehog" and I love how it ends with shadow saying sonic might be the true ultimate life form and sonic calling him a true hedgehog. Sonic adventure 2's ending is beautiful.
@@Aileil sonic is an incredibly empathetic soul - he figured out what chaos needed was understanding and not more violence, like what tikal believed. tikal, who was so kind to the chao, couldnt understand something he did so quickly. sonic is incredibly attuned to others' feelings. including a gigantic god monster who doesnt talk.

seeing shadow the hedgehog (2005) and sonic 06 be openly acknowledged like this makes me so happy. it really feels like sonic team is beginning to stop letting the past define who they are and what they do, but rather accept it and go their own way, like shadow himself
Wow I just realized that. It is funny how similar Sega's story with the Sonic franchise post Sonic 06 is so similar to Shadow's character arc. It is like as soon as Shadow's arc ended their's began

Yes i agree with this whole heartedly. Shadow was no longer bound by the chains of his past and was living in the here and now and for his future. Him becoming an agent was the best fit for him. This is the kind of characterization he needed. A kind of “James bond or John wick”. This is how he should be, while keeping his rivalry with Sonic

Not gonna lie 06 is still to this day one of my favorite Sonic games growing up and I know it definitely has it's flaws lots and lots of flaws but Shadow's story is one of the reasons why 06 is my favorite they did mad justice to his character in that game honestly which is sad that his story arc was better then Sonic's when it's Sonic own game that's in the title and Shadow got it better then Sonic did man how embarrassing! Personally one of my favorite moments was from Sonic Adventure 2. After hearing that Rouge is trapped and in danger, something cracks inside him as he remembers Maria, and speeds through White Jungle to save Rouge before the island explodes. I loved that moment because it shows that Shadow had a heart of gold deep down.
It absolutely gives him something to think about before Amy finishes reminding him of what's really important.

I love this moment too! Rouge is literaly the only real important person for Shadow, outside of Maria, Sonic and Omega.
However, i understand why this moment isn't here. If you look, all the moment we saw in the video is favorite fan moment, no every fan see " I will" like a favorite moment.

I like when Shadow got his real memories back when Amy was talking to him. It reset his purpose of living and it's one of his most vulnerable moments.
I know right! It's a shame they didn't include that moment in this video when he and Amy had that exchange! It was such a good moment, and important to his character!

@@evdestroy5304 Yeah they did that a lot, but they still acknowledge that lore as relevant, and had a stage for it in Generations. Much better than what I can say for something like the portable titles. We can barely get any Game Gear or GBA songs in these jukebox modes.
Sonic Team has always acknowledged 06, even Unleashed had references to 06. Its Sega that doesn't acknowledge it
Nah they really don't because they know that they screw up the game. They mat acknowledge the lore of Shadow's character, but they can not let go of Sonic 06 game.

It's so insane to see SEGA openly talk about events in Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 again. They deserve to be remembered, I loved them for various reasons, they aren't completely terrible. I love this direction Sonic has been going in for the past few years, keep this up!

That's the thing I like about them, they seem to not forget Sonic's history nowadays, no matter how badly it was recieved, they still make art about the game, its characters and still aknowlodges as part of its universe even in things such as this video

This is a Really accurate ranking of Shadows best moments. However, Shadow removing his inhibiter rings and facing off against Mephiles with team dark is my favorite Shadoe moment… well, and Shadow round house kicking Silver. I love how that was in the ranking and was rated so high. 🤣
Number 3: Chaos Control!
1. Agreed 100% about the face-off with Mephiles being his best ever moment.
2. I feel so bad laughing at Silver being kicked in the head. I don't know why that's so funny to me. XD
#2 is actually my favorite moment. "Even if the entire world is against me, I will fight like I always have" . This line perfectly represents the person I am. I've been through a lot, but I've always fought. That's why Shadow is my favorite character, and why I have his symbol tattooed on my shoulder. Because we're so much alike, and he'll always be there to guide me❤

I love the flame core cutscene where sonic says “dont be late!” And Shadow retorts “same to you”
So many GREAT Shadow moments here!! Very good to see him at his writing peak!!
Some I'd add personally:
-Saving Rouge from Omega's gunshots as his first instinct upon waking up without memories
-Refusing to join Mephiles in the future after being shown his trapped body
-Rouge telling him he'd always stay by his side near the end of his 06 story campaign
-Him saving Rouge last minute in SA2 before they blow up the island
-Him saving Sonic from Silver right before the roundhouse kick
Definately agree on the Shadow saving Sonic bit. However, the bit where Rouge telling Shadow she'll remain by his side I'd rather count as one of Rouge's best moments.
1:22 number 9 is such a cool moment, i miss it when they would interact all cool like that instead of what happened in the latest tails tube where their just fighting for no reason, like here theres a good reason and looks cool, i hope the momentum goes up going forward with good shadow characterization

I'm just happy that Sega acknowledges that the 2000's Sonic games happened and know that those games do have fans, despite what some game journalists or RUclipsrs would have you believe.
Also I love seeing even more further confirmation that 06 is, indeed, still canon.

It is brought up multiple times by multiple characters, Sonic and Elise still remember that it happened, and Crisis City is in Sonic Generations.
You cannot "erase" a past event, you can only move it to another timeline.
If it was erased then they would have erased the reason they went back in time which means they never would have went back in time to erase it in the first place.
Plus, the official Sonic Encyclospeedia documents all the Sonic games, and the only game it lists as non-canon is Chronicles. Not 06, which means the book considers it canon.

SA2, Heroes, Shadow 05, and 06 has so many Memorable and Iconic Moments that it truly shows how Important the Ultimate Lifeform has Become.
