You MUST read Harry Potter. I just read them for the first time last year and I’m 24! I was so impressed and I totally get the hype around them and they are 100000% better than the movies! Such a cozy series to immerse yourself into!

I’ve read the Harry Potter series more then 25 times since I was kid when they came out I still have some but it makes such a difference reading from childhood to adulthood 😂
@morejessconte I agree with this! I’m reading the series for the first time at age 25 and it adds sooooo much to the movies, I highly recommend reading the HP series :)

Me being 24 now means i wasn't around / way too young to grasp the Harry Potter book hype at the time & started with the movies. Now i FULLY understand the hype and am so excited to read them all

The Selection is one of my favorites! I just read Powerless by Lauren Roberts which reminded me a lot of The Selection series combined with The Hunger Games. Definitely not the same premise as The Selection but they had similar vibes. I read books 4-5 and remember liking them. They have a slightly different vibe and the main character feels SO different from America but definitely worth a read since you loved the first 3!

Yes! My favorite is Pride and Prejudice, I’ve read it countless times, my husband doesn’t understand how I can read the same book over and over but it’s so good!

Love LOVE that you’ve started this channel this year as I’ve been reading so much more this year! I also read the first three Selection books this month. Enjoyed but was a little too similar to the hunger games world and it kept throwing me off. 😂 I also read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and it was by far my fav read of the month! WWII historical fiction, so so good!

I love your new vids and sharing your book reads!! I personally was not the hugest fan of November 9th but it's a very quick read. It is more of a sad read but not the worst book. The other book looks so good!!! 💛

The Selection series is one of my faves and is what really got me back into reading! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. I would love it if you did a more spoiler warning type review for book series like what guy you rooted for at different points of the series lol. I also happen to be about halfway through November 9. It has an interesting story so far and some secrets yet to be uncovered so I'd say I'm enjoying it apart from stuff I choose to skip over due to it being too "spicy". Excited to see next month's reading recap and thank you for always providing such wholesome content!

I love the book videos!! I have also been reading more this year than usual, so I really appreciate the recommendations! This past summer I discovered The Selection series and I was just like you - I flew through the first three!! I would recommend the later books in the series just to be back in the world, they're not as good but I still enjoyed them.
There's a book called that takes place in Positano, Italy. It is so descriptive and I really found myself wanting to go to Positano - reminded me of how you spoke about Nantucket. It sounds like you might be interested in it based on your other books!

You’d love the once upon a broken heart series if you liked the kingdom/bachelor/ball vibe of the selection! It’s a very fairytale-esque fantasy with romance! It’s great!
Also the dance of thieves duology is so good if you wanted to get more into a fantasy book that’s still pretty easy to understand. You’ll be confused the first like 100 pages but that’s totally normal as they set up the world & what not. No spice in either of these series but the romances are still amazing which I really appreciate! I feel like you would love these books!

I’ve read all books in the selection series. I definitely liked the first 3 books better but still found the last 3 books worth reading. Love this new channel- it makes me miss reading. I just started the Harry Potter books for the first time ever reading and am on the 3rd book and am LOVING It
currently reading mistborn and i’m loving it! it took a minute to get into it and fully understand the world it’s placed in, but once you can it’s addicting🤩

I’d recommend you to continue The Selection series if you’re intrigued to know what happens next, especially if you miss the world. Maxon and America are still in it.
However, I’m also like your friend because I didn’t really like it and it felt unnecessary in a way. I’ll just say that the main character is quite unlikeable to me and her story felt way too fast for the plot and her character arc to flourish properly. But honestly, it’s also not THAT bad for me to say to avoid it so, definitely go for it if you want 😊
I loved the selection series too! The other 3 books are more like “spin offs” from the first three… they’re not bad but the original 3 are definitely the best! ☺️☺️

So happy you’re loving the selection, it’s been my favorite series for about 10 years!! I don’t really recommend the other books, the history is kind of the same, so it’s good but read the heir and didn’t hook me up. The first 3 are perfect and enough for me 😅
I just started the fourth book of the Selection on hoopla (so cool that if you have a library card you can access a certain amount of books, movies, etc each month.) I flew through the first three and loved how it kept me second guessing the whole time keeping me intrigued. I am still in the beginning of The Heir but it follows America’s daughter so we shall see if it keeps me interested.
I read the selection in high school and I've been obsessed ever since! so happy you loved it, definitely one of my favorites!! I read the fourth book and didn't finish the rest of the series, I didn't love the spinoff, unfortunately. If you want to get into more fantasy I've heard great things about ACOTAR and it's on my TBR! I've been wanting to get into more fantasy because most of the books I read in that genre I've really enjoyed!
I LOVE that you’ve been posting these videos about what books you’re reading!! If you’re wanting to read some thrillers, I would recommend anything by Freida McFadden, especially Never Lie!
You might like Shatter Me or Red Queen series they are dystopian world, I absolutely loved the first books in both these series. I haven't read The Selection series yet and guessing from what i've heard about it they are not alike, but if you are wanting dystopian vibes I recommend. And then I feel like these books are beginner stages into being able to get into fantasy, which once you enter fantasy world it takes you on a journey and its amazing!!
The Guest List definitely picks up! But I personally didn’t love the ending so that was a bummer for me 😭 but it sounds very similar to The Perfect Couple when you were describing it 😂
yes I really enjoyed it but then the ending was kind of a letdown for me;;
I read the selection series in highschool/college when they came out and I didn't even know there were 3 more after haha. I've been reading all of the Christina Lauren books lately!! I can't believe you got sent an early copy of their new book!
