But I got lucky with a high draft number in one of the first draft lotteries when the Vietnam War was dying down. Parents weren't allowed to "happily go to jail rather than let my [their] 17-year-old be taken to fight in any of these Corporate US-instigated wars," which the Vietnam War was. Secondly, there is nothing happy about going to jail, which won't stop your son from being taken if the government decides to do so.
