Spencer's Dash
Perhaps my favourite local race in Barnsley, 1.5 mile from my front door. It’s a cracking route of 3.75 miles, no real sections of flat, it’s either uphill or downhill and nothing much else in between. It has a bit of trail, fast road sections and a brilliant uphill finish…
Organised by Barnsley AC, comprising of three races in the series stretching typically from April - September, taking advantage of the light nights and Great British summer. Starting at 7pm on a Thursday night.
The race has been going for years, a staple in the calendar for me locally and many other local runners. Enter them all, and you might just be in contention for a prize in the series.

Well done you 2 yet again - 156 Spencers done by me now with a pb of 20.41 from one of the early races back in 1989 - I have missed about 30 since it started - could even be less than that - I will have to add them up sometime- Yes I must like the event as well !! lol
