Good video, it helps with figuring out ways to protect the container. The music in the first part was great and then it went into a generic AI generated kind of thing. Irrelevant but it was a great riff.

All it would take to break into the container after installing the lock box is an extra 10 minutes cutting a rectangle piece out of the box using an angle grinder to reach the lock and then cutting the lock with the same angle grinder or bolt cutters.

This is what happened to my shipping container this week. Lock box cut with angle grinder and the lock cut.

They used a Die Grinder with Diamond Steel Cutting Blades, Stuck it up inside the cup covering the lock, cutting the pug that the lock attaches to. the pad locks on the handles were butter for that thing. Probably took them all of 60 seconds to get in.

LA port needs these, after hearing about Cargo Container Thieves in, no wonder for the delay shipping.

Not going to make a difference when you consider more than one legit users needs access. And then there's stopped container trains where a lot of the activity occurs.

This doesnt make much sense for the majority of carriers/private freight car owners. Seals arent security devices... theyre only purpose is to indicate whether the container/shipment has been tampered with. If items listed on the manifest dont arrive to the destination and the seal is damaged/missing, a theft report with the carrier and or insurance covers the stolen items... if the seal hasnt been tampered with, a different document is filed (i believe a shortage form via the carrier or vendor)
Theft/loss is a part of doing business... wasting time and $ to add locks to containers only increases the chances of your goods being targeted in the first place. Not to mention the added costs of purchasing the locks, and having them installed on hundreds if not housands of units isnt a feasible solution.

"Encourages"? Not really, and it's no different from what you see in movies and TV shows.
