I also did full car soundproof double layer for my 28yr old saga! hahaha! is INSANE! After cleaning all the dust, remove old floor carpet and remove rust and paint it... hahaha! Good job bro! Nice video!
Funny story is given the MCO, I hadn't had a chance to drive it. Decided to drive it today and the difference was day Nd night. Even the audio sounded better in addition to reduced road noise. I guess lower end cars benefit more to these kind of mods. Thanks again for the support. 🤩
This is the real sound proofing material to reduce the harsh sounds from outside.. Unlike cheap rubber strap yg diaorang letak keliling pintu tu... Its totally crap. Sy dh letak dalam keempat2 pintu, tp tak berkesan. Mmg ramai kawan cakap kena letak kt lantai macam u buat ni baru ok ...
I have had both type in some of my cars and I honestly feel that the door insulation only helps with reverb from the speakers and not much with sound proofing. Kalau Budget unlimited bolehlah buat semua, tapi saya rasa sound proofing lantai paling berbaloi.
Kalau dr segi performance, apa beza dgn soundproof yang mahal2 kat kedai tu? Kalau 3m ni dekat belas2 je harga, tp kalau jenama mcm yg lain ada yg sampai 35-50 untuk satu keping
Should be using sort of roller to roll out the air , the way you pressed might create air pocket inside the sound deadening, and it will trap moisture in the long run hence become will become rusty in future.
It was pretty flat on the flip side and using anything excessive made the hexagon pattern disappear but I do see your logic. Should do a video after a year and see if there's any moisture
Bro nice installation and effort. Btw just for your info, stick to soundproofing material that have certificate and iso approved. The reason is because alot soundproofing in the market don't have any safety and health compliance certificate which is very harmful for u. Due to the weather in Malaysia is extremely hot, these non compliance material produce toxic fumes which can be hazardous for you. Just my 2 cents advice. P/s: Dr Artex, STP, etc have certified iso. (Will definitely be more expensive but worth it for long run and towards your health too)
The improvement is massive.. I should do a follow up video. The whole ride itself is very pleasant... the car just feels a lot sturdier. I don't listen to much audio but I am sure there's improvement there too. The most difference is when the car is put through section if body flex like a hump or a corner, lesser sound travels into the cabin.
Hi bro. Came here from a comment u posted. Would like to ask u how's the material so far. Would u recommend to buy it. How's the sound proofing? Planing to get for my whole car floor the booth and doors.
Held up very well. Big improvement. My only concern is not to over do it so there is room for water vapor to escape. There a reason car manufacturers don't go to town on this stuff. Focus on the area between the pillar that make up the monocoque chassis
Bro, any big difference in terms of nvh after soundproofing the floor, im thinking to diy this project on my myvi, cruising on highway quite noisy, road noise lagi kuat dari speaker radio
Just did this on my wife's axia...on all 4 doors...door became a bit heavier...and quiter cabin..but still some sound coming from the floor and firewall area...
There should be access to the fuel pump but I didn't see it. Anyhow... the sound proof material is easy enough to peel off if required. Good catch and thought! Thanks again for the support.
I always face random rattles in the rear side of my vento, and strange thing is that I have always considered soundproofing but have never located the source of the issue. Pretty sure it comes from the boot area but my tools doesn’t seem to be moving around. Looked at any loose wires and can’t find any. Do let us know if the soundproofing helped tremendously
Will do and I have a feeling it it's the wires and modules in the wheel arch area from the boot. My Audi has few modules there but the sound proofing in the Audi is pretty good so I don't hear anything. Funny thing is I have a socket wrench set loosely wedged in the battery area near that wheel arch and I don't hear anything. Sound proofing should help considerably. I'll do a video as a follow up once the car and the person can be on the road. 🤭

How many db of noise reduce with this enchancement ?
Wow, thank for the sharing, you did a good job. for the sound damping, lm prefer the black butyl rubber instead of white butyl rubber. haha
Yeah... realised there's any grades and quality. Thanks for sharing
Bro, any big difference in terms of nvh after soundproofing the floor, im thinking to diy this project on my myvi, cruising on highway quite noisy, road noise lagi kuat dari speaker radio
Noticeable difference. I would add sound proofing on the wheel arch too.
The remaining try to apply in the spare tyre area, it might reduce the cars NVH, as more turbulance produced in the rear of the car,
Good thought. Might help with the rattling sound my tools make in the tyre well too... I wrap them in a cloth but this should help it further.
did you have some on the transmission tunnel/exhaust tunnel?
I ended up adding some of the balance on the transmission tunnel and a small piece at the spare tyre wheel well.
Just did this on my wife's axia...on all 4 doors...door became a bit heavier...and quiter cabin..but still some sound coming from the floor and firewall area...
I find the floor is crucial as that;s road noise. If you have the patience, the wheel well too!
Isn't there a fuel tank under the back seats? If the fuel pump fails it might have to get replaced there (I'm not sure about myvi)
There should be access to the fuel pump but I didn't see it. Anyhow... the sound proof material is easy enough to peel off if required. Good catch and thought! Thanks again for the support.
Bro, you didn't apply 2nd layer of foam? will this be suffice?
Hi... I didn't but our Myvi had auto foam done to it. Didn't see a need
@@ThanaKrishnan Noted, does 1 roll enough? if want to include door and roof? will i need 2 roll?

Great DIY. Please clean it to remove any greasy/oil surface so it's really stick longer.
Yes.. good tip
Bro, good video. I see you did not even out the material with the roller. Any reason?
I pushed it enough to stick. The shape helps with sound absorption. Thanks again

Any sound proofing on doors? Doors are most important right
I did some 3M foam insert many years ago. You could do the same for the doors. Helps on Audio and noise on cars next to you
My avanza 2007 selalu panas dekat bawah.
Pakai autofoam. Mereka akan inject foam dalam ruang chassis
