As someone who's been doing lots of docs for the game, I can definitely agree that the game's been missing a lot on documentation, especially for f2p players. Sadly veterans just have so big of a presence that it's hard to get stuff done and known when it doesn't follow their opinion. So many people blindly follow the tier list without even knowing what it's actually ranking it's quite infuriating.
Excellent video! I’ve often been surprised by the lack of support in the PoMa community as well. Just as you’ve noticed, some of the louder veteran voices seem unaware or unempathetic with the realities of being a newer player. They also prioritize certain game modes and playstyles, and have a sort of group-think that overvalues some units and undervalues others. All in all, I think PoMa is a great game and I’m constantly surprised at how poor the community content around it is. For a Pokemon game of this quality, I would expect dozens of quality RUclipsrs posting well edited videos of things like team comps on a weekly basis. But what we get is unfortunately a much lower standard - I think a lot of it has to do with the gatekeeping in the community you see on places like the Discord. At any rate, I’m glad you’re joining the scene and I hope you create the content you wish to see!

Something short and to the point that covers if the unit is worth investing in, team comps, and a few gameplay examples in the background so we can see real world numbers and performance.
Definitely agree with a lot of the points you're making, and am very grateful for the limited but definitely useful f2p clear recordings that show how to get by on some of the more challenging fights with only the obtainable roster. TBH, early game does feel a lot like a whack-a-mole with resources - even with a solid uber tier or two, anxiously building up a unit that you'd otherwise not use in the long-run just to get a chance at obtaining rewards for certain events.
I was a new player when ss leon dropped and i got him 3/5 because i thought he looked incredible, but because i couldn‘t find any ressources how to build proper anything i quitted again. Started again with my gf 1 week ago and found your channel and it finally clicked. I still think the game needs some more informations i can‘t find online (f2p team guidance, supporters role diversion i.e tanks, buffers, debuffers instead of just supporter, and like a website where you go on a mon and it shows good partners)
i share the same thoughts! i wonder if the community will also create that team comp suggestion lists we see as in genshin, if i had a lot more time on my hands i'd be working on that but at least I plan to include the best teams for the uber-tier banner priorities for each month - I hope you're enjoying poma a lot more now! :D
new players normally show their pokémon roster in a group and the players with experience tell them which to lvl up first and which to put resources early on, thats pretty common, at least in a latin america masters group im at

i think tier lists have their place, for example if like me people use it as an outline and then come to their own conclusions by looking at what they do. the issue is the lack of context and the scarcity of resources for new players( ive only been playing since just before 4.5 anni). ive played a lot of gacha games and even i was lost on what to actually do when starting...im still somewhat lost if im honest lol ( just happy that i found at least 2 content creators and i managed to get deoxy/steven + silver/tyrr both to 3/5)
I totally agree! But I also think that even though the tier lists doesn't take new players into account, it's still helpful to get a slight hang of which units are good and which are worse. But in the end, I think that the units you like to play the most also matter the most.
that is very true, I've also asked Spark if he thinks any uber tier would drop out of uber tier for just being 1/5 copies and he said nope, so I trust that maestro on that one! I'm also planning (like too many things lol) to create a 1/5 or F2P investment list starting with april's tier list video and definitely also the favourites :D I'd love to have a dedenne ingame some day XD and as much as meloetta is super strong, i find her animations take a bit long XD what are your favourites by aesthetics and/or playstyle?
also appreciate the video, as a new / returning player a tier list is needed, dont wanna waste precious resources on a mon that isnt as viable as another one that i have. its nice to have things like tier lists / team builds/ orb builds etc
Hey Shibastian, I hope you are doing good. I have some questions and I hope you can answer some. I want to make a kanto team but all of them that are in Uber are not available right now. I wanted to know if they are coming back? If they are not coming back what can I do? I have blue/blastoise, red/charizard and leaf/venasour. The only way I can see to better my team is getting venasour/red. Is there another way to get someone better? If there is what am I missing? If anyone could answer my question I would be grateful. Thank you in advanced!
i started playing on april 2022 because i saw shiny ho-oh was gonna release and so i started the game and got it in the first multi pull and i was lucky that it was a really good sync pair because the first month i learned all the things i needed to know of the game by asking, seeing videos and playing and in 2 months i was able to clear the master stadium with full points and since the anniversary came with the 2 pikachus and lucario i never had any problem clearing it again, people always said to save for master fairs and we were also speculating ash pikachu coming to the game so i saved a ton and got the 3 master fairs the day they released, i also got lugia and suicune 2 months before the anni because i liked their abilities and they were very useful. after that ive been having a ton of fun playing masters, sometimes having really bad luck for months and sometimes getting lucky when i dont expect it.
i dunno man... i'm new player as well but i completely honest with you, i play because i like the pokemon or the trainer... but well thet end up not have synergy or anything which is kinda sad
that is a very solid reason to play :D some pokemon come in different roles, like theres a tank/supporter pikachu but also a damage dealer and even a hybrid one, all sitting at S+ to uber! I hope you'll be able to build solid teams with your favourites :D
As a day one player I would advise to just focus on building a solid collection of the general pool units. Don’t pay attention to tiers lists. Pretty much all content in the game except for Ultimate battles are easily cleared with just general pool units. Tierlists for this game are kind of pointless, this game does a really good job of offering different play styles with different units, and tierlists tend to be a subjective ranking on what certain people consider as “op”.

@@ShibastianEX Personally, I like to use very low gauge cost characters, such as Elaine and Eevee. I really hate it when my move gauge is drained. :/
