    In this week's episode of The Shooting Show, Mark Ripley takes the InfiRay thermal TH50 riflescope and Pulsar Accolade thermal spotter out after foxes. With pheasant poults in short supply, and a delivery of birds due in the following week, Mark needs to do all he can to reduce the fox numbers on the shoot before the birds arrive.
    Then Jonathan McGee joins the action with his series on some of Britain’s leading sporting estates. We start with a pheasant shoot at Whitfield Estate in Northumberland.

    Lovely. Thanks for posting. Try a sheet of aluminium foil over the pan. It really keeps the heat in especially outdoors in the field👍

    Great vlog Mark (260 rips) and amazing thermal set up.....I think 🤔 most would have them both on their shooting bucket list. Seeing how well those geese were picked up....wow.....really is next level ......
    I love how fine the reticle is on the infiray......one of the things that many of the first generation scopes suffered with ...thicker lines or a "blob" of a dot....
    Excellent shot off the top of that gate. Well timed !
    I sometimes forget how hard it used to be with a lightforce 240 on top of the 4 x 4 and a bipod ...
    I loved both to be honest but thermal saves so much time especially in it's later formats like the accolade 2 and other offerings from Hik , pulsar and infiray.

      @@paulharrison6417 not necessarily! Hunting can be done with bow, spear, gun - anything! Simply means to go in search of quarry! With or without a mutt😉

    You need spotter on roof and a screen on the dash, saves hanging out the window.

    hi great video, i have a question that'll probably put me in the firing line to be branded a nutter so here goes, that high pitched sound you made early in the video if i'm correct is to get the attention of any foxes nearby, i stress i was told by a shooter i worked with that rubbing 2 blocks of polystyrene will attract foxes due to sound it produces. true or was i having my leg pulled ?.

    • @260rips
      @260rips Год назад

      No this is true, some use a piece of polystyrene on glass too. The idea is to mimic the high pitched scream of a dying rabbit, thus an easy meal to a fox.

    Slightly annoying when people look to you for gear advise and you say the inifray or hik is some of the best on the market we know you dont pay for your kit but people actually believe what you say and neither infrray or hik re close to being the the best on the market they are at best the budget option after 40 years of shooting i know the best kit and because i have had to use my own cash to buy it and Hik and infiray wouldn't be on my agenda as cheap Chinese kit doesn't cut it in my world

    • @260rips
      @260rips Год назад

      Right firstly let me put you straight on one thing - me getting all my kit for free, that’s bollocks it gets sent back and if it’s damaged I get billed for it. I also invariably end up fronting the postage and also buy all my own Ammo. I work full time in the building trade and buy my own kit.
      Like you I have had to work to buy stuff and I use the best gear I can.
      Secondly I said that the InfiRay th50 is the best thermal scope I have used and I stand by that. If I can scrape the cash together I will buy one. Yes I may get it trade price but I will be buying it!
      Unlike some ‘reviewers’ I won’t review something that’s crap. If it’s crap I’ll send it back with a thanks but no thanks.
      If I do a video on something crap and say it’s crap then I won’t get anything else from that supplier to review. Before long you would run out of suppliers and I wouldn’t be reviewing kit, and you would be watching some other bloke who’s word might mean nothing to him.
