I have propped my plain old rubber tree.. it was really easy to root but all the new growth on the mother plant is small leaves 😕 however now I have 4 plants in my pot 👏👏🎉💚
Just gifted myself one of these for my birthday yesterday! I love all ficus! I have many different kinds as well. As for propagation I have always had the best luck with cuttings in substrate. Something airy like peat or coco fiber and ample perlite. It also will boost your success rate if you put some sort of clear globe over the top being careful not to let any leaves touch the sides.
I bought one today with lots of white varigation for $14.99 and she has lots of branches , I have west east south and north windows and a greenhouse in the basement , I hope she likes one of these spots.
👋🏼😊 Hello. Yes the Triangularis, Audrey is difficult. The elastica are more manageable. I have a south east facing condo. I have a few ficus in my collection and adore them. I do have this one which I bought at the plant expo it is smaller so my concern is if it stabilizes because it can be volatile as you say we need to note where it was grown but in a plant expo the vendors may not tell us this. Good point plant Sis...💚🪴
All of my ficus elasticas love leca and passive hydro and it's helped me grow them much faster which has been a lovely surprise. I've been lusting after the shivereana so I loved this video!
Oh Jaclynn, you are looking so beautiful. That Ficus elastica 'Shivereana' is so gorgeous, I have 4 different varieties and this is so cool with it's speckles and variegation on the leaves I guess it is on my wish list and I will look for one of these. I love finding unique and different plants and I am crazy about buying wonderful plants. Thanks again for the tips on growing this beautiful plant, and for Plantmas Day videos. Sending love and hugs, bless you!! 😍😻💚💜💜💞
Ficus fanatic, here..too..love this new one..looking for it..but will wait till spring to buy..Don't have great light/warmth growing area..so based on your input it seems not much different than the Teneke?!
I just got one. For some reason, my little runty plant. Was discounted from $24.99 to $12.99 . At that price. I would have still let it go as I have two one at 6 feet tall and the other at 4 and a 1/2. But I had to peel the current discount sticker off to find the 12.99 price. As the current discount sticker of $7 was on top of it. That's like a dollar for every inch of plant. I couldn't let it stay there. The best part is I still can't figure out why it was discounted.
@jaclynns.jungle I think I figured it out there is little brown spots. I didn't notice tham until I got the plant in good light. It's annoying problem but my Umbrella tree will do it too. When I get the watering wrong. It will make for a good video on my channel I us to upload on.
Girl I'm with you I absolutely love ficus and I love them all I have alot of ficus in my collection and so far all of mine are doing amazing I have one of everyficusyou said inthis video also more
Ficus were actually the first plants I wanted. I guess specifically any rubber tree. I grew up watching ANTZ and the song about an ant and a rubber tree plant stuck with me. Fast forward years later I find that a rubber tree plant is a real thing. Just wish I was a little better with them.
Paused video to go buy one….I blame YOU 😜 Beautiful Ficus. I have 2 Tinekes that are always putting out new leaves, so fingers crossed this one will as well.
Great tips. I just got a ficus gifted to me from a co-worker. I can't tell what medium she used to plant it in. But it's not my usual coco&perlite mix that I use. Do you think it's partcular about its substrate?
If it's not getting enough light leaves will be dark green to much light you will have the leaves go nearly all white like one of my tinekes. I suspect your moonshine might be getting to much light I haven't had trouble keeping good varagtion with mine.
Ficus Shivereana has been my wishlist plant for 3 years and can’t wait to find mine. Just one important note about this plant I wish you would’ve mentioned in your video….rubber trees do not like cold! 😁

I got two from Trader Joes. Gave one to my Mom. Propagating a cutting in water for my sister. ❤ This plant is beautiful.
So beautiful!! They used to not even exist on the American market, so I'm always happy to see them!

Once my sheshed is complete I gotta start a elastica collection
They're honestly one of my all time favorites!!
Did you see the shop in California selling them for $18?! It’s amazing how plant prices change over time. Yours is gorgeous!
What shop..are they online?
@@carolgraham7691 it’s called Mickey’s! I’m not sure if they’re online but I believe they’re located in LA.

Ficus are awesome!! ☺

Beautiful plant..ficus Elastica is on my wishlist...I really want one or many
I'm a ficus collector lol got ginseng, triangularis, fiddle leaf, moonshine
Love a good Ficus 😊
Trailing ficus is my all time favorite (even though they give zero second chances) and what started my interest in collecting house plants ❤
Paused video to go buy one….I blame YOU 😜 Beautiful Ficus. I have 2 Tinekes that are always putting out new leaves, so fingers crossed this one will as well.
I literally *just* picked up a bb for $25 😭 couldn’t believe that my local shop had them!
Do you have enough crystals for a crystal collection video?! I’d love it!
Depends on what enough is? Haha I have like 10 maybe 😅
I just got a little 4 in one and I love it! The soil it came in seems like a lot of peat moss. I think I should repot. What do you suggest?
Go with your gut! If you feel like you should repot, go for it!! They like to stay more on the moist side of things, just not wet!!
Great tips. I just got a ficus gifted to me from a co-worker. I can't tell what medium she used to plant it in. But it's not my usual coco&perlite mix that I use. Do you think it's partcular about its substrate?
As long as it's well draining it doesn't matter!! I usually switch to what I feel comfortable potting in!
These plants are awesome
Glad you like them too!
It’s so pretty 💚💚💚
Can we have an update on this plant please? 🙏🏼
I need one for my yard in Florida.
So pretty! Going to try to find one!
They're so affordable now!! I'm glad people are wiling to give a Ficus a try!! ☺🥰
My two small ones are growing tiny leafs and are dropping the biggests, i'm afraid they'll die

Mine was just delivered today but the variegation colors look way different…. Yellows and pinks 🤔

What's another way to say Fiscus Elastica
Ficus elastica
What's the sap for?
Not sure what you mean, but most plants have sap! Not sure what it's for 🤷🏻♀️
