Every month or two I return to this channel and it’s something bigger (and therefore better). I can’t wait for the day I come back here and see some like 5 foot long beast of a ship.
You will! My dream is to build a huge boat that will steam down the river Acheron where the ancient Greeks believed Charon, the ferryman of the underworld, would carry the souls of the dead. It'll end up in the sea and sail to the cave of Persephone.
Very good advice. Thank you! I didn't know that, and found out the hard way. Some water dripped from the 3D printed blocks when I took it out of the sea. I was wondering if I could make them waterproof by adding another one or two layers to the walls.
sir you are just incredible, your constructions are crazy and super complex, what incredible talent!!!! just = bravo, you amaze me and I wish you always more happiness in your passion!
I love that you used a beam with a sticker. makes it a lot more relatable than the channels where they buy bricks for the build. Love this. edit: would also like to add that the jankyness of it is awsome
Launch and recovery, yes. Launch and landing... SpaceX... 😁 Some of the 3D printed boxes took a small amount of water, but nothing significant. It didn't affect the buoyancy or balance of the boat.
Yeah... I got myself in trouble again. I'll have to build a "proper" carrier in the future, with an arrestor mechanism. My dream since I built my first boat : launching and landing an FPV drone, like the Parrot Disco, on the biggest LEGO carrier ever conceived. (need a much bigger budget)
personally I would've used a second actuator on the launch mechanism because it looked like it wanted to buckle to the sides as it was going up and down.
You're absolutely right. Allow me to describe what actually happened and I settled for one actuator : When I finished shooting the assembly of the boat I was on a very tight schedule as I urgently had to visit the dentist at the end of the day. I had to make the necessary changes to correct any problems within three hours before my appointment and then partly disassemble the boat and fit everything in the car as wind speeds dropped the next day (just that day) and I had to go for launch. I managed to fix a problem with the paperplane not launching on a straight line and also balanced the ship using fishing weights. Balancing the boat was much more difficult than I expected as the bridge sat quite high and made the boat top heavy. I managed to complete everything with only a few minutes to spare and by the end of the day felt so tired I didn't have any energy left to fit a second actuator and add some details on the outside of the boat (railings, ropes, etc.) That's the price of having very little time to test and build... 🙁
@@brickandgear ferry for cars, the open top,do it as you like, maybe you can do an other version of the ship with another open top(+video content for the future :D)

Would you like to see a similar boat launch a model rocket in the future? Let me know in the comments!
Very cool idea
I would like to see a Lego warship that shoots
@@CoolrexAAAAAAA that can be arranged as well!
That would be cool, do it :)
Extreme challenge: rocket launching submarine :)

3d prints are porous enough to let water through, spray paint them with lacker or paint it with resin to make them 100% water proof

Everyone of these ship builds is mind blowingly cool. Yes please on the rocket!
I'll have to do a bit of research on the legislation concerning modern rocket launches in Greece, and then I'm good to go!

Incredible work! Your Lego machines are always jaw dropping! Thanks for sharing them like this

This guy does not have enough subscribers for this amount of work
That's really kind of you to say. Let's hope that through the hard work, the subscribers will come...
I absolutely love your creative capabilities and viewer interaction. Youre awesome
Edit- you should build a bomb defusal drone of sorts.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment! 🙏
A bomb defusal drone is a good idea, but I have no bomb to defuse. 😁
Awesome, would love to see a rocket launch (and landing!) on the barge. Did the 3d printed ballast take on water?

you make my childhood dreams come true sir, THANK YOU
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! 😊🙏
Awesome!
Thank you! 🙏
I was not expecting the plane to fly that well!
Me neither. I could have kept it flying for much longer if I didn't have to take control of the massive LEGO boat drifting away in the sea... 😁
That is so cool! Awsome build!
Thank you! 🙏
Now you need to make the plane land back on the carrier.

Thats so freaking cool man 😎👌👌
Thanks! Now I need to build something similar that launches model rockets! I'll have to research the legislation in Greece for that though...
Awesome! Can you build a RC ferry?
Sure. What kind of ferry? The "open top" kind of those big passenger ships that look like small cruise ships?

You should mount naval cannons on it
I will probably experiment with model rockets in the winter. So, you can probably imagine what I have in mind... 😁
That's HUGE...
and at the same time not so big compared to the rest of the world...
So true...
What if you 3-D printed a brown Lego Ship Hull for the pirate ship?
@iantrafny6611 I don't want to use a whole non-LEGO hull. I prefer to build things using bricks and using the least amount of "foreign" material.
