I love Hugh Cornwell so much ... he seems weak here tho ... he is 75 years old now after all ... He shouldn't have done this. But the urge to still play is still strong with him ... I would've loved to have been there. X
the sound is not the pa front of house sound but more the stage sound so mix is all wrong. thats the problem when people record on a phone from where they happen to be , sound can vary greatly. person is right in front of a drum kit so not surpriing you can't hear the vocals
Even though, as some have commented, the recording may be to blame here, this is still poor. I also think the new incarnation of the stranglers is awful too. It's not that it's bad, it's just that it only has the bass player in it. It's basically a tribute band. He should call the band Burnell and friends, or better still, write some new stuff.
Go Hugh!
I wouldn't judge Hugh on this video post...he's singing fine..playing fine. The drummer and bass player too.

He must be getting enough brass off royalties to buy some decent sound equipment.
Was there and the vocals were fine (in fact early on we commented on how good he sounded) - the lack of sound must be to do with how it was recorded.
Melbourne Music 'don't give up the day job'
What’s worse? Or, today’s incarnation of the strangers?

As a lifelong Stranglers fan I'm glad I wasnt at this show. Not very inspiring. I thank Hugh Cornwall for some brilliant music but this isnt it.
Oh Hugh why are you doing this?
Because he can.
Was the sound that bad. Worse than the performance?
Personally I thought the performance was great but the sound could have been better but that is the sound technicians fault not Hugh Cornwell
utter rubbish
Zzzzzz drag it out man.
Sad
Sorry to say it, but that's a very flat performance, with a terrible mix and a lacklustre bassist.
Dave not being there too also takes it away from being good let alone great.
