I agree that Sharon Bryant and Barbara Weathers were the voices of Atlantic Starr. In fact, according to the Unsung episode, there was even a relationship between Barbara and the male lead singer. The brothers felt that there was too much attention on the female singers and that it took away their shine, and they went on to have individual solo careers. That's why when they brought in Porcha Martin, they sort of kept her relegated in the background.

At one time the industry had to look for talent. They don't have to do that anymore since American Idol and the Voice set the bar. Unfortunately, the bar is set extremely low, this is why you won't hear artists who can actually sing anymore.
