    Servus from Bavaria.
With this upload you swing yourself onto a bike and ride the Tour de France with us and Kraftwerk members Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter. Kraftwerk members Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter were obsessed with bicycles and called themselves the Schneider Cycling Club.
Part of the melody of "Tour de France" seems to be borrowed from a section of the beginning from the "Sonata for Flute and Piano" by the German composer Paul Hindemith from 1936.
The original piece was originally recorded for a Kraftwerk album called "Techno Pop", which was renamed to "Electric Café" and released in 1983. "Tour De France" was dropped from the track list but released as a single. The following year, after being included on the soundtrack to the film "Breakin'", the song was released again, this time reaching number 23 in the UK.
In the UK, the song was used by Channel 4 as the theme music for their coverage for the "Tour De France".
Ex-Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos claimed that Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter's obsession with cycling was one of the factors that led him to leave the band.
Before I forget, the cover of the "Tour de France" LP was supposedly modeled by a Hungarian postage stamp from 1953.
This 2009 remaster is still missing in my collection and hasn't come into my hands yet, unfortunately.
Thanks for the upload. Obrigado antecipadamente pelo upload. Acima de tudo, manter a saúde.
    Com saudações musicais da Baviera
R.I.P. Florian Schneider (We all really miss you, so much!)
