    This is a great video. Just hitting the ball up and down the table, without taking the time to collect and rack the balls (and maybe spend extra money) is a fantastic tip. Of course, as you mentioned, at some point you need to actually hit a real rack, but this tip is really good and makes a lot of sense.

    This is a good tip, thank you. However, when you hit hard, it's not only a question you get more inaccurate because of the body movement, it also comes in play the cue stick. Deflection and tollerance of the wood or any other material when applying extra pressure. Shafts have different grade of elasticity according to the materials they use and of course how they are been made. This mainly affects your shot when you hit harder. If you attach your cue into a machine and hit the perfect straight shot at 17 mph, the result will be quite similar. The ball won't go straight straight all the way. Actually, your cue stick and how this is been made dictates where exactly you need to aim executing a variety of shots, providing naturally you are doing everything else in the correct manner. That's why pool is such a difficult game...too many things to consider!! :):)

    Hi Lil´chris!! Thanks for your videos, I am learning a lot. I just want to know where do you aim when you break? Greetings from Honduras👍😃

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 года назад

      It depends on how the breaks are going. Most of the time, I aim for a head on hit. If that's not going well, then I'll aim for a half ball hit.

    Us peasants playing on bar tables for most of life have perfected the rise of impact point from stand-uping and the curve of the leg kick. Still find myself here trying to make more balls in from off the break.

    hi coming back on update on break playing with friend here what happen 2 out of 4 break 1 of them was possible 8 ball break and another decent spread like your video , now the other 2 have balls just seem to get push backward no spread i probably didn't have good follow through

    It would have been helpful to show your speed on your lags as well as on the actual breaks to show that the speed is the same. I do like the concept.

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 года назад +1

      The break speed app works by hearing the sound of the cue hitting the cue ball and then hearing the sound of the cue ball hitting the rack, so I don't think it would have worked when I just lagged.

    I think arm length has something to do with the break... it is to advantage if you have long and strong arms? 🤔🎱

    • @jamesdavis8731
      @jamesdavis8731 2 года назад +1

      Well part of it is just basic physics. You hand and arms holds the cue, if your arms are bigger (weigh more) and the cue hits the cue ball at the same speed as someone with smaller arms, the cue ball is going to move faster- and you are going to get more ball movement, all other things equal, with the bigger arms.

    Bustimante likes to lift the leg … but I think it was natural for him. When you attempt 5 rails are you hitting center ball ?

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 года назад +1

      On all attempts, I was trying to use a rolling cue ball.
      However, as I've shown accuracy gets lower when more power is used.
      I think my average break, with the most control, would be around 4 rails (12 - 13mph).

      Last time I used the predator app my break speed was over 70 mph. Power is not a problem for me!

      I was in a pool hall in Manila with Bustamante a couple of years ago. I watched him play a number of games. His breaks were actually sorta frightening. He hits the cue ball HARD and balls fly around the table - just be sure to stand back!

  • @edcooper1471
    @edcooper1471 2 года назад +1

    Hey Chris, I recently added weights to my Predator break cue, thinking that a heavier break cue will give me a better break and spreading of the balls, but a friend of mine said the opposite is true, he breaks with a lighter break cue, and when I say lighter, I mean he has no weights in the butt of his cue. Anyway, the predator break cue I have is their Predator BK RUSH no wrap Break Cue, with a REVO carbon fiber composite shaft on it. So what are your thoughts on breaking with a heavier break cue??? Does it make a difference, and if so, which is better???

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 года назад

      I agree with your friend. A lighter cue allows you to hit faster and generate more power.

  • @wc5839

    Would the spread differ if you didn't use a template rack?

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 года назад

      Because of the likelihood of there being gaps in the rack, yes the spread can differ.

    • @MikeBilliardsFun78

      maybe that can be next break video use of different racks , i watch Japanese break and they spread ball well don't matter the rack . This break style is more like Chinese Break
