Well Greed constantly wants stuff, that’s his personality, he’s the embodiment of Greed(Hope that’s not a spoiler). The greedy constantly want stuff that they don’t currently have and will do anything to get it and hoard it to themselves.
@Ruben Colon Of course I know that's not the full view of Greed. Greed is the want or the ambition of gaining something that you currently dont have, I never mentioned it was only about money and power. The last sentence I was talking about was referring to Malicious Greed, which is why it's a sin. And I know all about the seven deadly sins and why people have them, it's because they feel incomplete inside, and Greed is one of those parts. And I've watched this twice already and I'm on Episode 51 currently, so I already know what Greed was referring to about everyone wants something they dont have. So dont lecture me on not knowing anything about Greed or the other sins, I've known this show well enough and it's characters. I hope my statement didn't generalize Greed and my response didn't seem too aggressive, but I was just helping explain to Awaken Productions what Greed was.
That tattoo is an ouroboros, IRL it's a symbol for the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Middle Age people with an interest in historical alchemy used it a lot. Bit hard to make out but it's supposed to be a snake eating it's own tail.

You have the best commentary on this show I've found on RUclips thus far. Some comments: 1. Regarding Winry: the story suffers badly from the 2000's obsession with "tsundere" characters, and doesn't do a good job balancing slapstick with caring moments. I warmed up to Winry eventually, but it took a while for the actual intent behind the character to show through the bad writing. I'll be interested to see if you eventually do the same. 2. With Izumi's condition: I'm not 100% on this, but I'm *fairly* sure that the Truth took her uterus, not just some random organs. The way the camera zoomed in on her lower belly, combined with who and what she was trying to resurrect, gave me this impression. 3. As for why Izumi is so mad at Edward and Alphonse at the beginning and not wanting to teach them anymore: I don't think that this is because they broke the taboo (she herself did that, after all). Rather, I believe that it's because they joined the military, which she's been shown to hate. Anything she teaches them will likely be used to serve the regime, so why should she teach them more?
One of the things I really enjoy about your videos on FMA:B is how inquisitive you are and the many questions that you think of. So far all those questions will be answered eventually, some sooner than later but they will be answered. It is a matter of keeping everything (or as much as possible) that happens in mind.
She's mad at him fucking up his arm all the time out of a combination of worry about what happened to him and professional pride, seeing something she worked hard on wrecked. But I get where you're coming from. She nags a lot out of concearn but also frustration at constantly being left in the dark. But thats still not going to make it less annoying especially if you're used to dealing with people like that in your daily life.
You're asking all the right questions, it'll be fun to see you get the answers. 7:37 Tucker's chimera experiments didn't really seem to affect the minds of the two people he transmuted. First was his wife who was clearly so devastated by what her husband had done to her that she chose to die and second was his young daughter who was to young to fully grasp what her father had done to her. The existence of these chimeras actually makes Nina's story even more tragic because Shou Tucker did what he did believing himself to be on the cutting edge of chimera research when in fact he was hilariously far behind. 11:32 You've seen 3 philosopher stones so far. The ice alchemist from the first episode, the priest in Liore and Dr. Marcoh all had stones. The first two stones turned to dust after being aggressively used and Dr. Marcoh said there is no way to know when his stone would run out and become unusable. These are important clues to keep in mind about the philosopher stones.
That really is the greatest tragedy of Nina/Alexander/Shou, is that because the military is hiding that they are using Hidden Knowledge to make "perfect" Chimaera, people like Shou think that just mashing a person and an animal together is "cutting edge" and makes him a "leading authority on Chimaera". It all could have been prevented if the government wasn't a wholly corrupt military state.
You know what. I'm someone that likes Winry and thought I could never understand why someone clearly likeable wouldn't be liked, but you actually made some really good points about her this time. She does charge them and she does tell they done wrong every time she sees them. I know people in my life that I have stopped seeing for those reasons and I have to agree with you. I still like her but understand why someone wouldn't.
Makes you rethink why they kept Shou Tucker around when they could already make a perfect Homunculus. To keep up appearances that their still just working on it, perhaps? Or for laughs? Either way, Tucker was definitely kept in the dark.
Public appearances. Remember when the Homunculi announced Tucker's death? Lust outright says that a "nothing" like him doesn't matter. The military loooong since had the ability to create fully functioning chimera. And that's why Tucker was not a sacrifice candidate. They knew from jump he was 4th rate.
Great reaction as always. I especially appreciate your commentary on the long-term disadvantages of having a body like Al's; I think it's often minimized or overlooked, even in the show. It always stood out to me as unbelievable the amount of time Al's lived in a state of near-total sensory deprivation with no guarantee he would ever be able to have a normal life, a family, or even eat a meal again.
I'm not the biggest Winry fan. But I feel like Winry gets better throughout the series. Also, I'm pretty sure (been a while since I've seen the anime) Winry gets mad that Ed breaks the arm because she's someone who takes a lot of pride in her work and considers Ed's arm her best work.
When you declare that “my opinion is my opinion”, which is true, you are arguing for the people you’re railing against to have their own disagreeable opinions. Just because they disagree with you does not mean they are somehow forced to hear out your alternate opinion, like you were not forced to read theirs. In any case you’re quite like Winry which is pretty funny in the end. 🤣
Sorry, I'm just trying to recognise the logic here, because you assumed at the start that Ed and Al's teacher was expelling them because they were in pursuit of the philosopher's stone (which isn't the case, I don't believe they even mentioned the stone the whole time they were with her) and she didn't want to condone that because of the danger that put them in. You say you get that. Yet every single time Winry complained about the boys putting themselves in danger or getting into trouble, something she does partly due to a lack of understanding of exactly what the boys are up against because they never open up about how much danger they're really in and partly from a position of compassion as someone who loves them dearly and is really worried about them, you respond harshly to her and call her annoying. The line between tough love and annoyance seems to be defined by your opinion of the character. To answer why she gets mad when her work is bashed up, it's because she's shown herself to be someone who is _extremely_ passionate about her work. Automail is like her artistry and she takes pride in the work she does. Seeing her work busted or even completely destroyed is seeing the hours of work she put into it go to ruin and suffering the loss of her masterpiece. Money isn't her primary motivation. Ed is more than good for it as a state alchemist but I think if Ed couldn't afford it (which was the case when he first lost his arm) she'd do it for free.
Going back to the second episode: when Ed wants to go back into the portal of truth because he thinks the secrets to human transmutation are in there, Truth tells Ed that he’s showed him all he can for the price he paid. Then he takes Ed’s leg. The beginning of this episode expands on that interaction
Hey bro don't be mad at Winry for wanting to get paid appropriately for her *TOP NOTCH* service. And Ed's rich she's not asking anything unreasonable. She's gotta put food on the table just like anyone else.
19:07 everytime ed's arm gets broken usually he gets injured aswell, winry hates seeing ed injured they have known each other pretty much their entire lives.
If it's any consolation, I have no problem with your dislike of Winry. I enjoy her character, but I can also appreciate your view on her, and the rest of your analysis more than makes up for our difference in opinion. I have been really enjoying this journey, and look forward to the rest of it.
Izumi Curtis is my absolute favorite character. She's so badass. She's hard on people when she needs to be and soft when she needs to be. I couldn't imagine a better teacher for our boys.
I had the same problem she does, with Winry. I could not stand her in the earlier chapters, and i just started somewhat liking her in the latter half of the story. That whole thing where she gets angry at them everythime they get hurt, like its their fault... and that time when Ed went to the hospital with the poorly fixed arm, i got angry at the way she acted for the next 15 chapters of the show.
They're not millionaires xD Just look at the state alchemist that creates the chimeras, he lives in a normal house and still has money problems. State alchemist have a budget assigned to them, the reason Ed can use all that money is 'cos all their expenses are train tickets, food and sleep, they still has budget to use. Other state alchemists that need materials like the chimera one will not have such a good time with it.
@@Acepunydefoc Tucker's house is quite huge, Ed even mentions it the first time they see it. And Tucker isn't poor as a state alchemist, he was before having the licence. He does that to his daughter precisely because he don't want to be poor again.
@@lazyshoggy My point is that I always understood them to be paying with "investigation budget" not with their own money. A budget they barely cover since they don't need any material for their investigation.
Dont forget Ed is a certified state Alchemist. He has more money than Harry Potter had when he found out he had a bank account. Also sate alchemist are considered dogs of the military, which means Ed signed up to be a weapon, whether it was his intention or not
Gotta say, even though it makes more sense in this version why there are only seven homonculi named after the sins, I kind of like the cool twist on the origins of the homonculi in the original animated series.
I found winry character annoying at first, but she developed on me as the story progressed. Her whole asking for large sums of money for their auto mail is annoying at times however I believe she only does it because it's a way to tease the boys and show how much she actually cares
Dafaq? Where does Winry suggest that she's interested in money? You don't think Ed is paying her, do you? Your problem with the Winry character is that you didn't like her at first. And then you started ascribing to her traits that you made up for yourself. You judge it through the prism of what you have said yourself and what is not true.
Winry is the mother figure for Al and Ed. she knows that they lost their mom at a young age and wants to fill that void for them cause she knows they are hurting inside they just dont show it to others. she yells at them so they know that they have people who care for their wellbeing when they put themselves in danger. winry in a sense is the audience/viewer who on the outside looks in and sees the struggle these two are going through to get their bodies back.
No, shes not the mother figure by any means, more like a sibling mixed with childhood friend, if theres any mother figure aside their real mother that would be Izumi
You can't bring the dead back with alchemy because it only works on what is in THIS world; once a soul moves on it leaves this reality and becomes unreachable. BUT, you can manipulate a soul if it's still in THIS world. Al's soul was in the door between this and the next world so its subject to BOTH.
Don't feel bad for not liking a character. The comments have been over protective but please just keep doing what you're doing. Your reactions are great.
no harm in not liking winry, she wasn't my fav character in this series either. she rounds out to be a much better character starting around ep20ish... but yeah, early series winry is sort of a pain. personally i didn't particularly warm up to her till we got toward the end of the series.
Took me a while to warm up to Winfry's character. She's always violently over-reacting and does stuff like not owning up to her mistakes like when she forgot to put a screw in Ed's arm and nearly got him killed. Her character seems mainly important for the development of other characters in the series.
I don't think it was about the money for Winry, I think it was more just about admitting that she didn't do her job right. But either way you have the right to interpret her character in your own way.
I do get why you don't like Winry right now but try to keep an open mind about her. I feel that sometimes it takes more episodes to really get a character, esp since Winry isn't always there. Edward and Alphonse are 15 and 14 respectively. Winry didn't want them to join the military due to what happened to her parents. You will learn more about that in time. Roy Mustang basically found two traumatized small kids and persuaded them to join a morally questionable, much disliked branch of the government. She doesn't like that they joined the military and she doesn't like them actively fighting instead of just researching to get their bodies back. Except it is that research that made them cross paths with dangerous people. Winry doesn't know most of anything because they don't tell her. So every once in a while she gets a phone call to fix Ed's arm. And finds him in a hospital, hurt and covered in bandages. Her making him pay for stuff is likely to "punish" him for not being more careful. And other times just to piss him off. He does the same to her sometimes. Like I said in another comment before, I doubt Ed paid for his automail surgery and first prosthetics and those are supposed to be very expensive stuff. At the end of the day, they are all family and don't care about the money, between them.
One is All and All is One You are part of the world, you don't know it but you are part of a process the world does every single day, your actions might feel inconsequential but every day you breath in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide, every meal you eat and every drink you consume becomes something that is used and joins part of the world in various ways. Your life is important, you are important, what you do might not feel big and when you look at yourself, you might not see the things you do to even just contribute to how plants around you are fed but you do. You are All, All is You as you are part of that All that is part of You.
I agree that everyone has an opinion but at least do this, at least put side your hate for her or at the very least don't let it blind you from her development. You will be doing yourself a huge disservice. Believe me, it will get better.
Legit I didn’t like Winry for the longest time because of all the reasons she just listed. If you have a particular set of moral values I think the things Winry does should bother you. Everyone is different, but I wouldn’t dare punish someone for my mistake. It’s greedy and really disgusting. Winry gets some redemption but she’s overall one of the weaker characters IMO
I agree with your opinion about Winry, for me sometimes is kind of boring, but the character takes importance in the ep 20 and all along the story you will notice how everything will be answered, I would like to hear what your opinion is about the truth (OMG is difficult to write because I speak in Espanish lol)
Wow so I see much hate for winry here. Let me just clarify something about her. My own opinion here. You can brush it off/ ignore if you like. I’m just stating what I see. So Winry in the beginning is the boys basically best friend. I feel Ed is always cautious around her too. When the father went away and the mother overworked herself to death, the boys never really went to see Winry and just focused on Alchemy and bringing her back. The next time we see Winry is at the transmutation scene, as we saw in I believe ep 10? Maybe 11? Where we see Ed’s eyes covered and blaming himself for doing that to Al. Your BEST friend is watching THIS happen to you. I mean if I were her I would def start to get sus on wth he did for this to happen and then right when he’s okay he goes to the military? Like is he stupid? I know nothing of how this came to be. They never tell her anything and just expect her to “understand” their mission. So she does, she doesn’t ask questions where they are not needed. The time in the hospital was clear- she gave a talk to Al cuz SHE knows what Ed went through while Al was brainwashed to think he was nothing but a puppet with altered memories to begin with. (Kinda forgot what Ed was going through and felt, brushed his feelings off and didn’t understand- Winry just brings him back to reality that he was no IS human, just not all there yet then Ed gives us the rest. The next time we see Winry in theyre affairs is the watch- ngl loves when she just pulled all those tools to practically break open his watch, lol her face. Okay this was just an invasion of privacy from a friend, friends always invade others privacy, they say it’s just to keep u safe or something but nope they just noisy. I have been accused of this as well. No privacy on either side. Not only that but she understood immediately what it meant and went to see if they were okay, like a friend would do. Okay for the last bit. It took me more than long enough to understand Winrys role as their friend after the accident. Idk exactly how Ed’s feelings have changed towards Winry but it seems Winry hasn’t changed. She still supports them as a friend and I don’t think she is willing to ask questions about their mission yet. Kinda forgot what was happening throughout the anime. It’s been a while. Sorry for the LONG comment but I hoped I cleared some stuff about her. I kinda feel bad for her because she is just forced to watch Ed and Al come back sadder and more hurt than before. She is just watching them from the sidelines as she slowly fixes Ed up little by little. Ngl tho I would not want that role but it would be stepping into their lives if I were to get involved and then end up maybe hurt/ sad myself. So that’s my take on it.
It's not difficult to create a lump of living tissue with alchemy. But the the hard part is getting it up and moving, since you can't just create a soul to give it the Spark. But a Philosopher Stone is exactly that: a soul made solid. So you just take a little piece of that, stuff it inside and there you go.
I love your reactions and how much attetion you pay to the story, but stop underestimating my boy Ed haha, he is a prodigy and a powerhouse and single handely figured out the weakness of an inmortal being
eh these days people get their panties in a bunch if someone else has a different opinion even if they share everything else in common, just do you lol, most here likely are viewing her as she is by the end of the series but either way who cares lol.
I don't know if someone is really offended cause of that. For me it's just little irritating that you react that offensively towards her. For me her reactions are pretty normal. (What's more they are a childhood friends who don't act like a angels but rather like a people with some disadvantages) But it's just my opinion and that's rather not something that important that would stop watching your reactions. lul
Winry doesn't want Ed to be hurt which is why she doesn't want him to fuck up his arm... duh? Not that your opinion is wrong. and you dont deserve shit for it on the internet.
Because, when He created them he pulled the Greedyest soul from his vast well of souls and fused them together to create the Stone that became Greed's heart. So now he isn't capable of being self or greedy: just like how he doesn't get hungry or amorous. (That might not be the correct spelling.)

I recommend you to not read the comments, I know that we try not to make a spoiler, but sometimes when someone gives you an explanation about some character or situation is giving you some information that you would eventually realize by your own
Sorry for my basic english, I love your reactions, and I'm glad that you're watching hxh at the same time ❤️
You have the best commentary on this show I've found on RUclips thus far. Some comments:
That is assuming that the character traits that are prescribed to Winry are at all accurate. They aren't.
"You just gave it away!"
Nah, you just missed the tattoo
I'm on your side with Winry. I usually never like the Tsundere girls in anime but, she really got on my nerves when I watched this series.
Your reactions always put a smile on my face 🙃
Thank you Awakaproductions! ❤
Izumi Curtis is my absolute favorite character. She's so badass. She's hard on people when she needs to be and soft when she needs to be. I couldn't imagine a better teacher for our boys.
God I frikin love izumi so much! And my favorite homunculus enters the scene! Greed!!
Just wanted to let you know that the next episode really gets the series going. Big fan of yours. Keep it up!
Ed is a state alchemist, he's basically a millionnaire. He can pay for his prosthetic repairs
Also sate alchemist are considered dogs of the military, which means Ed signed up to be a weapon, whether it was his intention or not
The Ultimate Housewife~!!
TBH dub of Winry doesn't help that much. Her Japanese voice sounds much less annoying.
Dafaq? Where does Winry suggest that she's interested in money? You don't think Ed is paying her, do you? Your problem with the Winry character is that you didn't like her at first. And then you started ascribing to her traits that you made up for yourself. You judge it through the prism of what you have said yourself and what is not true.
Scar's murder were so much violent (and better)in the 2003 FMA
Ah greed... i cant say much cause of spoilers but yeah if u know u know the importance of this character
No one:
Teacher: I'M A HOUSEWIFE!
welcome back darling 😊💖💐
Greed in the house!
The first Greedy character I like... This is nostalgic
Don't feel bad for not liking a character. The comments have been over protective but please just keep doing what you're doing. Your reactions are great.
no harm in not liking winry, she wasn't my fav character in this series either. she rounds out to be a much better character starting around ep20ish... but yeah, early series winry is sort of a pain. personally i didn't particularly warm up to her till we got toward the end of the series.
just give in, give Winry a big old hug
Took me a while to warm up to Winfry's character. She's always violently over-reacting and does stuff like not owning up to her mistakes like when she forgot to put a screw in Ed's arm and nearly got him killed. Her character seems mainly important for the development of other characters in the series.
I don't think it was about the money for Winry, I think it was more just about admitting that she didn't do her job right. But either way you have the right to interpret her character in your own way.
well... greed is good
yeah these human chimeras are very poorly explained, at least i never got any of it
I like your opinion about the characters even if it is the opposite of my opinion so I watch your videos
Lots of people dont like Winry, its fine.
Feel free to dislike who you want
The sins names reflect their personalities
I did not like Winry at first also. She improves later on.
I wonder if you could watch it in it's original audio ^^
I cant wait when it come to last 20 episode 👌
some thugs : let's fight the wanted murderer who is capable of killing military trained wizards... that'll be aight...
One is All and All is One
You are part of the world, you don't know it but you are part of a process the world does every single day, your actions might feel inconsequential but every day you breath in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide, every meal you eat and every drink you consume becomes something that is used and joins part of the world in various ways.
Your life is important, you are important, what you do might not feel big and when you look at yourself, you might not see the things you do to even just contribute to how plants around you are fed but you do.
You are All, All is You as you are part of that All that is part of You.
Housewives are BADASS! :O ;D
I agree that everyone has an opinion but at least do this, at least put side your hate for her or at the very least don't let it blind you from her development. You will be doing yourself a huge disservice. Believe me, it will get better.
They're named after sins because that's what fit their individual personalities like you said. Greed, for example, wants everything.
Here comes Greed! Looking good btw.
Homunculi, the ancient AI
I agree with your opinion about Winry, for me sometimes is kind of boring, but the character takes importance in the ep 20 and all along the story you will notice how everything will be answered, I would like to hear what your opinion is about the truth (OMG is difficult to write because I speak in Espanish lol)
"why would they be named after sins?" GREAT QUESTION x)
So that’s my take on it.
unfortunatly, answering why they are named after sins is gonna be a big spolier
It's not difficult to create a lump of living tissue with alchemy. But the the hard part is getting it up and moving, since you can't just create a soul to give it the Spark. But a Philosopher Stone is exactly that: a soul made solid. So you just take a little piece of that, stuff it inside and there you go.
Greed! And the Star enters the show 🦾
You have now been introduced to the best battle cry ever
A HOUSEWIIIFE!!!
you dont have to apologize for not liking Winry.
Screw them , ur Amazing! :)
That's a cute sweater or is it a sweater i don't know but it's cute tho
You really should just let the show guide you, you don't need to dwell on questions
I love your video
I was reading a text during the review, then I suddenly heard "You wanna have sex?" and was like "These RUclips giveaways are getting out of hand"
Winry nags out of love.
I agery idont hate winery though I do find her annyoing at times
I love your reactions and how much attetion you pay to the story, but stop underestimating my boy Ed haha, he is a prodigy and a powerhouse and single handely figured out the weakness of an inmortal being
eh these days people get their panties in a bunch if someone else has a different opinion even if they share everything else in common, just do you lol, most here likely are viewing her as she is by the end of the series but either way who cares lol.
I don't know if someone is really offended cause of that. For me it's just little irritating that you react that offensively
towards her.

Ah damn, I used to like your reactions, but I have a policy of not watchin oversensitive people on YT, so bye =(
