$2000 cad/month for 2 people .... that is crazy. My mortgage alone here in Montreal is $2k and I haven't even eaten yet.... I'm def checking out Thailand within the next few years. Thank you for this helpful video!
Yup! People think you need to be rich to travel, not always the case. A long visit to Thailand is always helpful! ..... it's not for everyone.... but definitely has many great things! Thanks for your feedback!
Really nice video! You explain very simple what we want to know! Very helpful videol! We are living in Mexico now but we are planning to move to Pattaya in September or October of this year, we know is rainy season but the reason we go in October is because is low season so we can find a place more cheaper. And we will going with our pet an old cat, so we would love to see more condos or places pet friendly please. Thank you
Thanks for your feedback. You can always reach out to our realtor Nick. He knows the area very well.... might be able to give you more insight? Thanks for watching! Appreciate it 👍 good luck with the move!
safety in Thailand is incredible, living in central bangkok and can go out anytime night and day and buy food and find open shops... Worst things that can happen tou is pickpockets the traffic and uneven sidewalks(have common sense about money and valuables ,dont drive in thailand and watch where u step) . Violence or real robberys against a foreigner is so rare that it makes national news when it happens and thailand has +71 million ppl
Thanks David! We appreciate your feedback! 👋 I like to show everyday life, while we are traveling (not just the instagram stuff) and some adventures we go on, so we can look back on them one day.
Super helpful vlog, thanks for posting. I've been researching condo's for a while and like the look of La Santir, my only concern is that is it a bit too remote from the main area of Jomtien? How did you guys find it in terms of location?
Hi there! Honestly you could walk to beach road in less than 15 minutes. We always have a scooter when we come to Thailand, but like things to be in walking distance too. It's easy to catch the baht bus on beach road.... but there are LOTS of places (more expensive) on beach road too. Thank you for watching and for giving us feedback, I'm glad you found it helpful! 👍
@@wattstraveling that's great to hear 😊 thank you for the reply. I also really enjoyed your Jomtien night market vlog too. Working my way through the past one's! 😆
best thing todo..go there, book a hotel 4-5 days and use ur legs and 10 bahtbusses(song thaew) to explore the city and check condos..there are "for rent "signs everyware..many fromforengers that did buy condos and made a bad deal and cant sell them.
I spend 900 euro's in 30 days., and I lived like a king. if you do things local. lush breakfast 2 euro (coffee, fresh coconut, thai omlet and rice with thai chilie/basil and chicken) just an example
Yeah, budgets can be as low or as high as you want in Thailand, that's what's great about it. 900 Euro is 1327CAD.... so for one person that's a health budget for Thailand, you should live like a king 👍
Do you have a video explaining long term expat tax issues with Canada's CRA? l'm told you need to have 'deemed'' to sell everything. I'm thinking only leaving Canada for Thailand for just 6 months at a time to retain health plan with Ontario; keep filing taxes as normal with CRA; stay away from Canada winter 6 months and away from Thailand hot and rainy 6 months season.
No we don't have a video on it, sorry. But lots of people "snowbird" to other countries to escape the Canadian winters.... sounds like a good plan! As long as you are in Canada for 6 months I don't believe you have to deem anything.... being in Canada will maintain health care and paying taxes as normal..... but I'm not a tax expert. 😉
We've lived in Thailand MANY months .... and I CAN give people our budget breakdown for the month we stayed in Jomtien, why not? Everyone's budget is different and this is ours 👍
Most ppl travel and going expat in se-asia isnt americans, americans tends to fly to mexico southamerica or the caribbean insted. Funny enough does most European and asian australian etc expat tends to avoid american expats for a reason u showed your comment =) (America is just another country outside America )
True now own DTaC so there is only 2 main carriers now 😮
Good to know! Thanks

Weed is such a Grey area in Thailand right now!
Please give prices in Thai Baht
But it's our Canadian budget 😁👍
But a 2kCAD budget is about 51k
How much is that in real money?
@bluedouchemark4685 last I checked Canadian money was "real money"? And funny, there's this thing called Google.... maybe you could try using it.?🤣

Question ? Did the beer cost exceed the food cost ? lol
🤣🤣🤣 no, Jay's not really beer drinker! Lol......
I don't drink a lot of beer...but the whiskey cost was included in our monthly budget 😉
You can't make a cost of living video after visiting for one month.

Why show costs in CAD and not USD when the US population and hence potential audience is 10x? Sorry, but that is so very “provincial “!
Because I'm Canadian 👍😉

Jesus wept , just convert it into your own currency .
Living in China costs about half as much as living in Thailand, The same quality.
Hey that's good to know! Thank you for watching
Im curious, where in China are you referring to?
@@wattstraveling I live in Shanghai. The rent is cheaper in big cities if you live far away.
