Topics in Sunday school are totally different. Then they come back toward the end. They miss the prayers and the readings, the Psalm and the sermon. Small wonder why older kids don't want to be in church. We taught them every single week that it's boring and that there's nothing in church for them. The church where I go does not listen to what they only hear as criticism. Anyway, the teaching here is solid. And, to hear that the kids are there is very encouraging. All those future leaders are getting solid rock to stand on. Praise God!
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23 Why won’t God show me what to do? you may wonder. And perhaps it doesn’t feel He is giving you direction today. But take heart the Father is actively working in your situation and guiding you even when you don’t perceive Him. Friend, God hears you. He understands the cries of your heart and the confusion you feel when you don’t know what direction to take. And it would be completely out of character for Him to hide His planes for you when you seek Him (Jeremiah 29:11-13). The truth is, the Father would move heaven and earth to show you His will and help you walk in it. Yet the Lord also understands what it will take to teach you genuine, abiding faith; so He is careful not to reveal all to you at once. Therefore, rest assured that even at this moment the Father is teaching you to trust Him. And He will give just enough light on the path to walk with Him one step at a time. Lord, I trust You. This is difficult, but I will walk in faith - step by step - and believe You are fully trustworthy, amen.
I so desperately want my life to count for Christ. I've wasted/lost so much of it. Right now I've been unemployed/under-employed for years. NOT by choice and not by laziness. I'm now caregiver for sick/elderly parents who continually refuse my help, outright tell me they don't want to hear anything I have to say, and who are verbally abusive. I can't leave. I'm trapped. I'd like my life to count here. But no matter how hard I try, they don't cooperate, won't accept help and scream at me. I'm trying so hard. You have no idea. But what do you do when you're trying to serve God by helping the people God has entrusted to your care, but they won't cooperate in any way? And yes, I am part of a good church.They help as they can. But, in the end, I'm the one left here to deal with them on a day to day basis. No, they will NOT accept outside help. I'm 52. The thought of just a few more active years (if God is gracious to give them to me) before I'm also old & sick... it terrifies me. I want to live for Christ. I just don't know how in this horrible place/situation.The thought of standing before Jesus with nothing to show for my life but a bunch of regrets/failures saddens and terrifies me.
Yesica1993 to me it sounds like you are in a perfect situation to do something for God. Loving your parents however you are able is a wonderful thing you can do for God. You can bare with them, and be patient and loving to them even as they aren’t. Obviously it does not mean to let them think it’s ok for them to be abusive toward you but perhaps with time your love will have an impact on them and you can display the love of God through your actions. We can serve God in the things we consider ordinary when we serve others :)
My husband is an unbeliever, unemployed and has anger issues. Many times he's verbally abusive to me and I feel like I'm constantly walking on egg shells. So I understand your situation a little bit. I'm learning during this time of pain, suffering and stress that God is conforming me to His will. The two big lessons so far is Patience and Wisdom. I'm unemployed due to my medical issues... I am hoping to be biblical councilor, whether I'll be able to make income is another question. I'll trust God in that. I've learned rather then ask God "Why is this my life? Why isn't my life like this?" To ask God " What do you want me to learn during this time? And how can I trust you more?". You're taking care of your parents, God will be well pleased with that! You can show them the love of God through you! God uses this time to sanctify you more! Just like He is with all His sheep, but with different circumstances. I'm called as the Christian spouse to win my husband without words. Maybe the same is true with your parents. I'll be praying for you! Sending love and hugs! 34:00 I guess I can only speak for myself. But part of the problem with goals is not knowing what goals to strive for. In many things, Scripture just gives general guidelines. It's not like He's going to send you a schedule of all the things He wants you to accomplish in any given day. Many times, it's hard to know if something is a good goal or not. (Not speaking of things that are obviously identified in Scripture as sinful.)
﴿غُلِبَتِ الرّومُ﴾ [الروم: ٢] The Byzantines have been defeated - Saheeh International ﴿في أَدنَى الأَرضِ وَهُم مِن بَعدِ غَلَبِهِم سَيَغلِبونَ﴾ [الروم: ٣] In the nearest land. I've heard it taught that pressing forward,is said to mean,still in the process of attaining the new covenant,out with the law as Paul says in the beginning of chapter 3,leaving those things behind,then pressing forward,meaning towards the new covenant,the righteousness from Christ,at the destruction of the temple in 70ad...very different view than that presented here by Dr White,any thoughts on this?

Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allāh has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.

True God's name is YHWH and the language is Hebrew. Not Arabic.
I've heard it taught that pressing forward,is said to mean,still in the process of attaining the new covenant,out with the law as Paul says in the beginning of chapter 3,leaving those things behind,then pressing forward,meaning towards the new covenant,the righteousness from Christ,at the destruction of the temple in 70ad...very different view than that presented here by Dr White,any thoughts on this?
