- We constantly hear that using free public Wi-Fi is a serious risk when it comes to our personal information. We had a hacking expert show us the very real risks. WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports.
You can use that method to kick people out of a public wifi so u can use it alone.
CleanFrost Roblox WOAAHHH
@@syntaxreselling there's literally so many tutorials on youtube
netcut lmao
Be pretty funny if that "public wifi" you want to use alone is another hackers impostor one.
@@archygrey9093 😂🤣🤣
Of course he's got his little MacBook with Linux on it, now that's a stereotypical hacker computer, like my laptop.
FYI lock just means a secured connection to the server. Not that you can't be hacked
Johnny sin make this video also? :/
I learned to look at network on pc, cellphone, etc. You will notice names you never saw before. On pc you will see if someone is on iPhone, Android, and see if someone is on your network all the time. You will learn over time who is not supposed to be there.
i just did something similar to this at my cyber defense club. you can even create new DNS names so they’re not as obvious as fake. and the software can copy how actual websites look just by passing the URL during setup
thats what he did with dnsmasq
the lock just means that the packet are encrypted using https protocol. Doesn't mean that u re safe
what about website's certificate? I think that is also considered..
How did they do that?
So, setting up a phishing link makes me a hacker ?
ok boys , open httracker, creates phishing pages, getting those post values.DONE.
@@Official_Baba_yaga yes you are right, the 'Post values' in my comments refers to Post method of form tag to get the values...
What exact you think when you hear hacker? The movie dudes who write codes? Writing codes is the only coolest thing you think. But hacking is done on the network. Through the terminal. Finding bugs in the codes. Taking advantage of misconfiguration, bruteforcing weak services. Hackers don't write codes for everything. You can't just do harm by creating a evil.twin network. You should know about dns spoofing. How to redirect users to the website you want. Jeez idk why you peoples comment so confidently without even knowing what you are saying

I got a question, can any device with WiFi capabilities be hacked?
FYI to the people in the comments, VPN won't necessarily protect you from these attacks. Even though the websites you visit will be secure and not visible to the hacker, they can still gain your IP address since you connected to their "wifi" in the first place.
true. people are dumb and forget this often. the only way you could really obscure your IP is to hack the hacker.
What? IP address is completely useless in this situation (and most situations). Like VisualPlugin said, IP addresses are specific to a network, so your (local) IP address is different anywhere you go. This is why 192.168.0.x is such a common IP address, because it’s completely local.
There’s not much you can do with a IP adress
@@emaaddar5017 agreed... I will have a different IP address tomorrow, good luck trying to use my IP address from yesterday
bro you can do so much with ip address@@emaaddar5017
This very scary but also it's all about paying attention to the very few important details
Question:
Him: yup
Nowadays these mitm attacks aren’t as relevant due to hsts which basically tells your browser to force https and not http which makes downgrade attacks and cookie hijacking significantly harder https also encrypts your traffic so it cannot be read by an attacker where as http does not
I think pass the hash attacks are still possible however which is why VPN or SASE is a must when using open WiFi.
Yeah, plus many apps also using that https protocol to encrypt these days. Http is of the past, I think as long as we don't click on fishing links we'll be fine.. They can see which apps we use but they cant see what we're doing with the apps..
gotta put 0's and 1's on the screen to show this hacker is serious
Everyone knows that you gotta enter "cmatrix" into the linux terminal to engage hacker mode.
Binary code isn't hacking, you watch too much Hollywood.
🤣
Just because the site is secured with ssl that dont mean its safe
It may seem it's secured by ssl, but if it's his network , he can simply swap the page with his one. The device will for example think it's Facebook (because it was given by the router), but it won't.
Dang bruh if you use beef it also has a ssl secure cert so make sure the url is correct because looking at the lock is not a good idea
Does using wifi on Airplane mode makes a difference , in weather it is easier for hackers to gain excess to your personal data on your phone?
all airplane mode does is block your phone from sending and receiving signals, but you can turn the wifi on making your phone vulnerable, so that would be useless, it's better to use a vpn
Fascinating. 😮
interviewer: could you take someone's credit card information?
hacker: I already have
Calling an ip address a series of numbers is actually a hack.
I one time shutdown a whole hotel wifi network out of curiosity. It was dumb but it was worth it. It through the whole hotel into a crazy panic loop. Is it recommended? No! Should anyone try it? No!
So why did I do it? To show the way of how someone can walk into a hotel, connect to the guest wifi, and shutdown a network. I hope they fix this before the real bad guys take everyone's information
Ah yes monitor mode..
Ah yes, WAP
Fact: "The Lock" doesn't mean the website is secure, hackers can obtain that lock as well!
That can be done with a mim attack on virtually any wifi you can crack or connect to.
With a mim attack?

I wonder which one of them told the truth?
Are hotel wifis ok? Because I’m kind of scared they are gonna take my personal information
Not at all they are completely vulnerable
@@mohammadtalalqureshi4464 True. But what can you do? Don’t use wifi when you go to the hotel?
@@keirengaming You can use a VPN to encrypt the traffic from your device
Don't use it for any private or sensitive information, if you just use it to watch RUclips for example you should be alright.
Curious that VPN not even mentioned; important omission.
VPN don't protect us from IP protocol sharing with the wifi
VPNs are good, but they greatly over exaggerate what they can do.
Wireguard setup from the device to your home server VPV creates an encryption tunnel from the device to that server only. Dude wouldn’t be able to breakthrough that.
carry a modem with you instead
pretty much solved now we basically all are

2:35 - I see that big red-flag! Instead of a key lock sign above the phone screen--there is an IP address. Very dangerous!!
I don't think people will waste time on public wifi if login is required
Yes! 🤣
Just use vpn
Lmao, yeah sure cause we can't stop a vpn from working.
You need to pay for a VPN

Its hard to tell, he is using some kind of terminal but the desktop looks like Mac Os with safari and he's using and Apple laptop.
I assume he has some kind of virtual machine.
You don't need Kali to do what he's doing though, pretty much any Linux distro can do what Kali does, but Kali comes with everything pre-installed
