Good questions. I’m told to use recessive reds, but I really don’t know. Are they Janssens, Delbar, Mortvedts or something else? Definitely would infuse fresh blood.
Great Looking Racers ..love those War paint Grizzles...Supreme.
Here's something I read many years ago. A pointing dog breeder was running into Issues with his Dogs not being as healthy and good as he thought they should. A cattle breeder told him to Only use your youngest males that are just old enough for breeding. the old cattle farmer said it worked for him. So this dog breeder tried it And became one of the top english pointer breeders in the country. They never did figure out why it just worked.
With your male having even one colored feather, he's not a double recessive white. He's simply a mostly white, double recessive grizzle. Your hen has color genes, they're just being suppressed. And with him having color, you just simply got lucky to have so many pure whites early on in their matings. Check out Adam Archer Pigeons, dude down in Australia. He understands pigeon color genetics better than most anybody on RUclips.
I appreciate your comment. Adam Archer is a fool. I talked to him specifically about this. His explanation was comical.
@@flyersforjimmywhitedoverel7405 With all due respect... Your belief is that somehow, the sperm and eggs of this pair are somehow aware of there being previous matings involving these parent birds. And that after a few matings, they are supposed to somehow start throwing genes from further back in their lineage. This is ridiculous.
Are you able to recall what it is that Adam told you, specifically? I'm curious to hear his explanation, so that I may weigh in on his theory. I'm willing to bet he's much closer to being accurate than the explanation you've given, which I referenced.
I made this video almost 2 years ago. I have continued to breed and play with genetics. It's actually pretty simple each bird is made up of four parts two from their mother and two from their father. So when you put a pair together you are actually putting the grandparents of those birds together. Technically the babies that are produced from whatever made their parents, their grandparents. So it's commonly two parts grandparent two parts mother father sometimes there's sex linked genes like females will always have a white feather on the wing or something. So when you put a pair of birds together and you get a baby the baby probably has 25 to 50% jeans of its grandparents. The percentage varies you will never get a complete 50/50. That being said the longer you breed one single pair together the more likely you are to get offspring that look like their grandparents. My video was made as a question and I sent it to a lot of people. I do believe I got the answers I was looking for. My problem with Adam is between Adam and I.
Hey, thanx for sharing. I have a pair that dropped 4 perfectly white babies and the 3rd round on of them is full of color! If you get an answer, don't forget to let us know!
For sure!
You sell any whites?
