Thank you for the clear answer. That gave me a new perspective and also some motivation to play engineer character again. Waiting to see your new vid asap.
Damn, now that's more like it! I've also noticed the diminishing returns that you have mentioned and I'm starting to put points into STR now because it adds more damage than focus does with certain attacks. I have 35 skill points saved up right now; I'm trying to decide on one more attack, and I'm thinking about onslaught or overload. I like the idea of overload because it gets stronger using more charge, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to utilize it very often because emberquake grants no chrg
I do agree with you! From my personal gaming experience, I found that the "journey" you take to achieve your desired goals, is at the end, the most important, the most fun and the most rewarding. After completing your goal, there isn't much left to do. There is a sense of achievement after reaching it, but the sense of journey is lost. I can't upload 100 hours of my playthrough experience, so the only thing left is to share my end game result
Some I've obtained from the drops, but most of them I've purchased from the NPC's. This gear is pretty common on higher levels. Whenever you visit a merchant, there would be atleast one part of that set in the store. Why would I, or anyone else for that matter, hate you for asking a question
I don't remember how I got them (it was 7-8 months ago). Every enchanter has a chance of giving special bonus (for example, attribute enhc can give you basic ~10-25 stats per 1 ench, but there is a chance he can roll an ~40-65 stats per 1 ench on your items. So, either I was lucky, or at the time I was using enchanters, I was playing the "old" build, so on new patches, they've might fixed or changed something
Dervis, Treasure hunter, Barter and Haste for my char. Frost, and 3 Summons for my pet... hmm... I wonder does the Tresure hunter and Barter work on pets too... I might change those summon scrolls for these.
The best build I've ever seen. Strongest and over power. Unlike other vids around, you can clear map pretty fast without any small risk on your blood. Anyway I have few questions if you can please ans. First, how to get these godlike gears? it is in the dungeons or the shop? Second, why it is worth to put some points in focus? I thought the degree of emberquake depends on DPS which is on STR? Thank u and pls keep uploading other cool vid.
The set I am wearing is pretty easy to obtain... as soon as you reach higher levels, you'll get the option to purchase all kinds of blue set items... At level 100 they are pretty common merchandise from the NPC sellers and also they often drop from the monsters. Focus increases all elemental damage. I am not using just the emberquake, my weapons deal elemental damage and I have other skills that benefit from it.. If I had put all points into STR, the overall bonus will be lower cause ...
I'm an elite Engineer, lvl 32. I recently found a level 38 hand axe with a damage of 350 (or something like that) I had been saving up all gold possible, re-rolling my world several times, raiding old dungeons for gold, etc. And I had recently enchanted the axe to a damage of 520 or something like that. Used the remaining gold at a socketeer I got from a mod. Put some sockets in that bad boy and it now has a damage level of 548. Saw the damage on your weapon, and now I feel like a total noob.
As soon as you notice the diminishing return benefits from STR, you can start increasing other attributes. It's hard for me to tell you the exact time when you should do it... maybe it would be best to distribute points 3 STR; 1 DEX; 1 FOC at each level up. I haven't focused on elemental or physical only weapons... whatever weapon that has the most DPS and cool benefits becomes my main weapon. I test the weapons on the dummy and if I am pleased with the results, I take it
Skill called the Forcefield gives me survivability. On max level and with full charge, it gives me a shield with ~64000 points. So whenever I get hit, the shield is absorbing all the damage.
can you pls tell me how or where did you get those -4% elemental dmg taken enchanting?? cuz all ench. that i found are sux, they dont give % resist, only like +30 to fire armor or else.
Focus increases magic damage done with spells and weapons with elemental damage. The reason why I've put points into it, instead of STR, is because of diminishing returns when you put more and more points into single attribute. For example, at level 2 if you put 1 point into STR, your damage % will be increased by 1%. If you have 100 base STR, you'll need 10 points to increase dmg by 1%. If you have 200 STR you'll need 20 points .. and so on. That's why it was better to start increasing Focus
Every major town in game has an NPC who can reset the last 3 spent skill points. If you want full skill point respec, then download mods which can do just that... search it on torchlight 2 fansite web page. In there, you'll find every mod created for this game so far, including the full respec mod
Oh, and my gear sucks. The majority of my pieces are blue, while the rest are orange. I kill just about everything in one emberquake and my forcefield never wears off, so the only time I take damage is with those few attacks that ignore my forcefield. Once I reach level 100 and have maxed emberquake, I cant imagine what it will be for me,especially once I start getting legendary equips. I'm also debating about going dual-wield for the end-game. My skills don't conflict.
low defense, high damage? ... In combination with the last set bonus, I have 75% damage reduction to all types of damage. Skill (which name I can't remember) grants me a shield with ~65000 points. It's like having ~65k HP plus ~5k of my own HP for a total of ~70k HP. During my playthrough I haven't used a single potion, and my HP was at 100%, almost, always. As for the damage, with proper attribute enchanting and additional socketing which give attr bonuses it can go way way higher than this.
Thank you... as for damage, I think ~60k damage was a max I have done in this video... however, I've found attribute enchanter, so my char now, is way more powerful. If you check my latest video (Boss compilation) somewhere in the beginning of the third act, my damage is almost trippled. I deal 120k with onslaught alone, and each of the emberquake fissure deals ~20k-50k for regular damage and ~100k-120k when it crits... Have more than 900STR and 950FOC (with charms I can easily go beyond 1k)
ahh ok i am still new so i am just going to copy ur build untill i get a feel for the game then ill make my own toon. so when should i start putting points into focus, and whats the best way to make a weapon elemental in you opinion?
Don't understand what do you mean by "rotation" First, I've used the blue set cause it was easier to obtain than the high level orange ones. Second, Dragonrift set is excellent choice because there are several bonuses that are superb (2, 3, 4, 6, 8 & 9 piece bonus) for every character whose build is melee based, which mine is. No Vit cause, I am not using shield; armor and elemental resistance is atm useless; my shield gives me all protection I need so no reason for additional HP.
3 questions: What's your rotation exactly? Do you believe blues (rares) to be better than oranges (uniques), for the set bonuses? Why hardly any points in Vit? Thanks for any help you give :)
Hi , I have a question which make me crazy ^^' , when you forgot a spell ( parchment spells ) , it disappears , can you drop again this specific spell ? or its lost ... And a other question , can we have severals same spell in our inventory ? :) Thanks a lot , and very good video !
This is my latest video, /watch?v=aTNJf0ABlio I don't know will I record more of Torchlight 2 gameplay... I am pretty much done with Engineer. Maybe I'll try some other class, but it will take some time for me to reach adequate level and get some gear... not to mention, finishing the game multiple times!
... of the way the attribute distribution works... If you have a lot of attribute points put into single attribute, to further increase the benefits of that particular attribute, each time you'll need to put more and more points to increase its power... at level 5, you need like 3 points to increase damage and critical by 1%... at level 50, you'll need 15 points just to increase the power by 1%... at level 90 you'll need 30 points ... and so on... so I thought it would be better to put some...
Who??.. on me?? If yes, no build available, but during my playthrough, first 20 or 30 levels I was using ranged weapons. After that I've started investing points into emberquake, forcefield and dynamo field... after I was confident enough that I could survive the melee combat with lots of mobs, I've switched to two handed weapons. Attribute points distribution: 3 STR 1 DEX 1 FOC. Obtaining the Dragonrift set was easy cause it is common gear on max level. Lots of money invested for enhancing (3M)
I have Lv 100 Veteran engineer with 7k def armor 9k with shield, 9k HP, 60k force field and those lv 105 monsters still can kill my char LOL. BTW I love the Dragonrift sets, give you 20% life steal and 9% aspd.
...points into STR, and the rest into DEX and FOC with the ration of 3:1:1. I've gained more benefits increasing DEX and FOC then putting everything into single attribute. At my 4th playthrough (NG+++) I've found the attribute enchanter (I didn't know that he even existed in the game)... and I have spent a tons of money enchanting the items. My "new" character is even more powerful than this one... damage I deal is quadrupled, my onslaught deals 100k and my emberquake from 20k-250k
Focus increases all magic damage and gives me mana points I believe. I use emberquake a lot, which deals fire damage. So i dumped few points into focus in order to increase the mana pool which allowed me to spam the spell more and at the same time, increase its damage. When I was building this char, I decided to go full melee (basic attack damage) and dumped attribute points into Strength and little bit on Dexteritiy. Only later, I've changed my mind and went for Focus instead. In the video, you can see that I use both basic attack with high attack speed and emberquake spell. I think the distribution of attribute points ended at 3:1:1 ration (STR:DEX:FOC)
dreyzen metik Thanks for answering. I've started playing this game last weekend, but I'm still thinking about Diablo 2, and even though they are basically the same game in most aspects, there are differences that change a lot. I'm building exactly an two handed tank engineer, and I've noticed neither you or Internet random people put points in Vitality. Can you really trust that much in that Force Field skill?
Henrique Augusto Nunes That forcefield spell, when combined with full power stacks, gives me ~50k shield absorption. It is the same as having a 50k HP + my own HP. This is more than enough for the current content... if you plan on using mods that raise the difficulty, then dumping points into VIT might be a necessity
how do you have so much sustainability, i mean youre barely taking damage. I started using my engineer again and hes lvl 51 but he gets clobbered by enemies in NG+ because the only way to regen health is with potions.
You definitely have amazing gear and maybe one of the best Engineers with that build, but I am only level 93 and I do way more damage than you. There are a ton of numbers flying around so maybe I am just not seeing the overall DPS you are really doing. I play with about 15 - 20% vitality and the rest is all focus. I sacrificed power in the early levels for being OP in late levels. I use emberquake for my main attack and it does 20 - 30k with each fissure, with my crits at 50 - 70k.
Nice video :) i was looking for a 2hand build im level 43 and i dont know of i should spend points on earthquake. It will be easier to talk via game so azanatosgaming its my usser cya!
Actually there is also another way. You can use the in-game console: cheatcc.com/pc/torchlight2cheatscodes.html#.UQfNlb84uSo After you done what the site say about enabling the console, you should enter this code into the console: ITEM RespecPotion *Note: This will enable a Cheater Flag if you play multiplayer.
There really is no reason for you too feel like a total noob.. Your char is 68 lvl's behind me. High tier loot will only drop at certain level threshold... So, don't feel bad, you'll be getting better and better loot as you continue to progress through several instances of the game. I like that even at lvl 100 he checks every pot and picks up every item...
yeah

one thing that I like about this game is that you can have very different build even with the same class
the most powerful enginieer built, what i see.con
gratulation!

wow! The random area fragments of dungeons really are simmilar with area's fragments at game DIABLO 3
All of that with 39 vitality, wow :)
Actually, the Viltality is useless for Engineer class, only strenght and dexterity 4.5/1
The set I am wearing is pretty easy to obtain... as soon as you reach higher levels, you'll get the option to purchase all kinds of blue set items... At level 100 they are pretty common merchandise from the NPC sellers and also they often drop from the monsters.

Who do u guys think is better, engineer or berserker on veteran mode.
It took me 4 playthroughs to find Borris! But once you do find him, he sure can do wonders to your equipment =)

A question, Emberquake tier3 give a passive of 60% all fire damage or only damage of ability?
I think it's 60% fire damage for ability only... but I am not 100% sure

engineer seems like a solid choice to go for an Elite run. After i beat the game with a zerker (playong on veteran) i'm definetly going for engi.

Absolutely a great game:-)
what exactly does your focus do in this build, does it make your shield better or what?

can I reset my skills ?
how many hour ?
I am using Emberquake as my main spell damage dealing ability
Those are gems that you can socket in your items.
Thank you
Isnt it boring just running through any enemies without getting hurt? I mean, there isnt any challenge in the game. Correct me if im wrong
Emm... sorry, I don't understand your question
I want that legendary two hander weapon for my Engineer. I already have a legendary sword and shield combo now.
is there a build on this guy?
Set Dragonrift .....where drop ?
+RaCHeN Silver Random drop. Sometimes a merchant will sell it. You can gamble for the pieces aswell
+dreyzen metik Thank you :)
The skill for 65k HP, is it forcefield or bulwark?
I have Lv 100 Veteran engineer with 7k def armor 9k with shield, 9k HP, 60k force field and those lv 105 monsters still can kill my char LOL.

Legendary Greatsword was dropped by some monster in Act2!
As for my second weapon, the 2H Axe, IIRC, I won it by gambling!
its the same spell leveling or different?

Quite a few bosses can still one shot you, especially if your forcefield wears off and you're not paying attention.
Is you still in that ng+?
I am lvl 60 and i have full set of unique armor
Nice
hi I'm from Russia, already the 4th day playing the game, you will do game guides?
Greetings.
Sorry, I won't be making any game guides.
Have fun playing
If you are up for a challenge, you can start a new character on veteran or elite difficulty. Or if you aim for extreme, try hardcore mode.
It's so hard to even click on a moving enemy and do single target damage lol rather use flame hammer or whatever
You definitely have amazing gear and maybe one of the best Engineers with that build, but I am only level 93 and I do way more damage than you. Try Elite, Veteran and below its way too easy.
And 2 legendary no cheat
Forcefield
You cheated this char?
+l Resery No
+dreyzen metik How many hours you spent in this char?
Don't remember the total time, but I've played for 13 hours when that recording has been made.
+dreyzen metik why you quest in guardin ?
dreyzen metik 13 hours for a level 100?
Berseker
veteran is easy mode
Lol Veteran
Try elite, thats whats so funny.
whats so funny
aaaaaaaaahahah, im lvl 80 and i got 7120 dmg ^^, peace
I have 35000 hp no cheats , peace :D
i have 2000 focus peace >:)
Bryan12Parkour im basiclly invincible even in ng+5 but i cant kill anything because my damage i like almost 0 :(
Davy Jones oh hell really? what are your stats?
Bryan12Parkour as i said, 35000 health and mostly livesteal and full outercore armor, also using shield and sword. On every armor piece the skull which gives around 1600 live and on the weapon the best live steal/ live on hit. And all stat points that i got into vitality.
what are the red thing in your inventory and the blue cross to the left of them?
