"I bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I'll be watching you." Gunnery Sergeant Hartman This is the quote to live by in solo-Q
What I learned: - while soloqueuing, you can’t rely on teammates to set up crossfire with you, but if your teammate is holding an angle, you can swing off them - if the other team doesn’t have trip on flank, don’t rotate with your knife out - hold angles with op, don’t peek with it (because it’s a heavy gun, like the odin) - jett knives are the same weight as normal knives (you move at the same speed) - you are an entry fragger if you have util that allows you to move faster (reyna is not an entry)
woohoojin just wanted to say your Viper Icebox guide has helped me so much!! Recently in comp I went 14/5 in map where I would almost always have negative KD!! Thank you!! 😀🔥🔥
I've been watching these videos every now and again as they come up on my feed, they're really helping me think about valorant more big picture even if in game I'm usually a press w player. I think the lessons that are having the biggest impact on me are the ones about timing and gunfight tactics! I used to basically only do one peek but now I throw in deadzoning, jiggles, jump peeks, etc. I hadn't thought about the 'speedrun' mindset until I tried it out and realized the impact that giving your opponents less time to react to you has. I'm still only Silver 1, but I also tend to play with friends since I'm busy with college, and a couple of them are higher ranked than me, and we 5stack a lot with them, so we get some heavier weight opponents (average ranks can be kinda high compared to mine). I'd like to say that I punch at least a bit above my current rank, since I had a really good few matches solo queue when I pushed for silver 1 at the end of e6a1. Hoping to climb at least to gold! One thing I actually want to know is whether I should try and get a higher refresh rate monitor (I have a regular 60hz one now) or if it shouldn't matter as much compared to my individual play right now
Recently started watching your videos and you mentioned that you coach every role differently and thought it would be nice if you had a playlist for VOD reviews for each role. Love your videos though
I started watching your videos and practicing the techniques you recommend for about a week now and I went from bottom fragging in Bronze to top fragging in almost silver. I know I will climb as I keep playing competitive

Hi Woohoo, just discovered your videos the other day. Already changing how I play. I felt way more confident in my tech and mentality. Felt like I knew exactly how my enemy was gonna play every round. Question for you: what is the difference between an entry and a first point of contact? Is it contextual? How is the entry not first point? Val is my first tac shooter so there may be some terminology from organized play that I'm not getting here. Thank you!
4 month late but for other reading this in the future: first contact help the entry move safely into the site "door"/choke point. then entry gonna use their movement skill to burst through the choke. Imagine Reyna flash to clear Ascent A main/ fight of early push aka 1st contact, then Jett gonna dash from A main into site aka entry.
what advice would you give someone that has problems getting to where they need to be quick enough. im always walking because im scared to get detected and it almost always leads to me being late to the site.
2:48 with those smokes, aren't you worried about the enemy coming behind to surprise the jett since from the kayo knife, you know both enemies are close
Had to look into it a bit, but apparently most people just call it "contact". It refers to a strategy that involves playing passively until one person is discovered by an enemy (i.e. makes contact). I saw it used mainly to refer to the defenders (or attackers doing post-plant) setting up a situation where one person is holding an angle on site, and a second person is hiding, waiting until the first person shoots so they can swing too. On attack, what I gathered was a bit more vague, but it seems to refer to silently pushing a site. They keep going without using util until they get discovered, at which point they just go all in on the site (so basically a surprise attack). When the site is clear then you just play your regular post-plant. As far as how Reyna specifically plays it, I honestly couldn't tell you. If she's not supposed to entry, my guess would be that it has something to do with being the second person in that contact strategy. Reyna primarily gets her value after she gets a kill, so swinging after first contact would increase your chances of that. The Reyna flash could also potentially let you achieve this on your own, considering that the enemy needs to look and shoot at the eye before attacking you, ensuring you're the second priority and allowing you to get free shots off (which is the point of first contact)
first contact = going first up to entrance of site/ area you want control of entry = going first entering the site/ area you want control of a useful example is attacking site B on ascent. a defender can be holding the angle in main and if jett dies there then we can't use her utility to enter the site. it's much better if reyna or another agent is first contact instead of jett, and then they switch order with jett playing entry. reyna is a perfect first contact because her utility is selfish, so it's not as detrimental to the round for her to die compared to someone else and she can save herself if she gets a kill. reyna isn't as good as other duelists and initiators at entrying because she has no mobility at all (unless she gets a kill) and her flash is awful.
Why is diamond more toxic than gold? I feel like I’ve had more clown teammates and people on the other team have 0 respect for anyone. Must be the lack of fathers in this area of skill.
Looking forward to the soloqueue meta where 2 guys keep moving positions so they get to be in the 'trust' spot 😂

THANKS MAN love finding cliffnotes, helps consume the info better!
Hey Woohoojin, I've been doing the peaking training from your last boomer to diamond video, and it been very helpful. Thank you ^^

Would yoru be considered contact or entry? The Reyna comment got me thinking differently
Depends on the map/comp/playstyles of your teammates. He's a bit of a flex agent, more similar to Reyna than Jett.
i have commented words.
You were literally 7k subs, like, two weeks ago! The growth on this channel is insane and for good reason!
yes banana sir i will comment
2:48 with those smokes, aren't you worried about the enemy coming behind to surprise the jett since from the kayo knife, you know both enemies are close
Practically impossible as his teammate was looking at the smoke
I think the funny part there is that his teammate asked him to go up on the container and he didn't even reply 😭
One day Woohoojin will upload a video titled “you’re sh*t at the game”
Shh im oftem this aggresive one pushing and counting to refrag or cover me xD

can someone explain what first contact is for reyna?

@@vio_rtm holy shit that makes sense, thanks so much for the extensive research and reply.
first contact = going first up to entrance of site/ area you want control of
entry = going first entering the site/ area you want control of
a useful example is attacking site B on ascent. a defender can be holding the angle in main and if jett dies there then we can't use her utility to enter the site.
