Indigenous Futurist Dreamscapes Lounge - Molina Speaks & Stevon Lucero I Meow Wolf

Inside Meow Wolf Denver, is the Indigenous Futurist Dreamscapes Lounge, a multimedia installation devoted to the meta-realistic painting of Denver artist Stevon Lucero, whose detailed dream-inspired murals fill the room. Adrian Molina, aka artist and MC Molina Speaks, led the collaboration which features his music and video art. Their statement declares the lounge, “a space for humanity, indigeneity, co-existence, creativity, and radical imagination.This space bends past and future. Toltec, Mexica (Aztec), Chicano, and Afrofuturist traditions come together to blend the waking world with the dreaming world.”
Chill in this liminal space between reality and dreams. Study the surreal symbols of Lucero’s work. Find yourself (and humankind) in the metaphors.

Artist Statement:
The Indigenous Futurist Dreamscapes Lounge grows out of Chicano consciousness, and is informed by Toltec and Mexica world views. It bends past and future, and blends the waking world with the dreaming world. The Dreamscapes Lounge is a space for intergalactic travelers to land safely and dream about what is possible.
The Dreamscapes Lounge combines visual art, film, music, storytelling and design. It is multi-ethnic, multi-sensory, and intergenerational. We want people to think about the knowledge and historical contributions of Indigenous people from around the world. More so, we want people to think about the future, and what it means to Re-Indigenize the planet. We want people to think about their connection to mother earth, and we want people to fall into their imaginations and dreams.
