Why expect Mbeki to not be bitter? Ppl may argue he probably also was corrupt. Shame on those who never took him on. That however does not seem to be an issue with any of them.
They really dropped him big time. If supporters know abt the conniving behind the scenes when he got ousted, they probably would be horrified. No transparency left millions of voters in oblivion, with cover ups snow balling out of control.
These politicians know each other very well for many moons. They knew exactly what would happen to SA with ppl at the helm, they're not suppose to trust. They did not care 1 bit.

Good analysis
To me Former President Mbeki looks like he is influencing the public to vote his Party that he himself couldn't lead it perfectly. This looks to me more as guilty conscience and shame himself if the Party disappears he is also to be blamed. AS we also heard that he himself has faults and mistakes in this party in his time.

What option does he have? It’s real politik, pragmatism always trumps idealism when power is at stake. They are in between a rock and hard place. ANC is his political home. Sandile Swana is spot on that there will be little to no dividend from his intervention. But does he stand by smoking a pipe and write op-eds type of letters from the side line or does he roll up his sleeves and try to salvage his political home he inherited from his forefathers? It’s uncharted waters ahead, post May 2024 “I could have, would have, and should have” will be a song of clowns.

Saving the ANC is in letting it lose power and the ability to protect criminals, in this way there will always be an ANC but if he somehow saves the criminal enterprise he would be confining it to the dustbin of history.

Thanks for bringing Sandile who speaks as clearly as he has done. I will be voting for the MK but I’m happy when Sandile states facts about our flawed leader uMsholozi because truth must be told. We need balanced analysis such as this in order to make our choices from informed positions. The selective justice and weaponization of state institutions plus dedicated campaigns to pain JZ as the only corrupt leader the ANC has had is central to some of us not trusting anything they say because we see their coverups everywhere.

The best in what? He inherited a smooth governing system from Mandela's national unity. He introduced BEE (corruption nonsense ) and gave the stellenbosch mafias evergreen contracts. Instead of blacks benefiting he kept on redirecting those tenders to his cronies and the ruperts. One example is Bidvest. ANC members of his previous cabinet are shareholders and Bidvest is contracted to each state department including the SOE's. Today as we speak most of his previous ministers are multimillionaires through the very BEE system he introduced and they working with the stellenbosch mafias. Ramaphosa faction (son of the wmc) cant be ousted by the RET faction bcs his(Mbeki) corruption can be easily exposed hence campaigning for Mr phalaphala.
