Following the results of two rounds, the jury of the competition awarded Ivan Bessonov First Prize in the “piano” nomination.

Я слежу за карьерой Ивана с детства и считаю, что семейное воспитание, смирение, честность в отношении его интерпретаций - вот что вызывает восхищение всех, кто его слушает.
Вот Чайковский бы как ликовал от такого исполнения. Да, высокая культура игры. Такая музыкальная память! Вот труженик! Что левая, что правая рука играют свободно, слушать одно наслаждение, просто настоящее счастье.
Ванечка, дорогой, слушать твою игру -это большая радость и удовольствие! Образы, которые тебе удается выразить с помощью звуков, восхитительно прекрасны. I don't know .... I'm amazed and confused. Ivan is certainly the greatest pianist of this era. The interpretation by S. Prokofiev, Piano Sonata № 7 B-dur (op. 83) is sublime, wonderful; there are no words to express the sense of prostration and at the same time of emotion and tears. God bless this boy and give him the best there is on this earth.

Время от времени открываю глаза, полюбоваться его красивыми руками.Какое прекрасное утро. Какое это наслаждение. С благодарностью. Всем рекомендую так начинать НОВЫЙ ДЕНЬ, несколько минут с Иваном Бессоновым. Это счастливые мгновения, из них и состоит счастье.♥️

Интересно составлена программа . В музыке представлены произведения наших любимых русских композиторов яркие живые образы из опер. Они сохранились у меня с детства. Учась в муз. школе в гор. Перми, я посещала оперный театр. Исполнение пианиста очень яркое ,техничное ! Grazie .

Не могу наслушаться, теряешь ощущение инструмента, клавиш! Здесь и арфа, треугольники и т. д... Слов нет! Один восторг!

У Чайковского танец Феи Драже играет челеста, а у Вани все инструменты оркестры изображены игрой на ф- но--- бесподобно!!!

What can Lang Lang and Yuja Wang possibly be thinking while watching Ivan's performance of Prokofiev's 7th Sonata? His deep muscle memory firing his technical brilliance from some subconscious level frees him to pursue single-mindedly with his whole heart and soul every nuance of color, volume, phrasing and timing resulting in exquisitely clear and articulated performances. Ivan is clearly a product of an extremely high IQ and musical sensibility, an undoubtedly supportive familial environment, a pervasive classical music culture and the best teaching in the world. God bless him and all those near to him.

I have always held that counterpoint as the cornerstone of Music is for any musician as is choreography to the dancer and the world of ballet. Ivan's realization of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite as transcribed by Pletnev marries the means of both disciplines to such a fine degree that the piano itself serves him as orchestra. What is more, it is the effortlessness of his playing that places his artistry well above the norm to single him out as the greatest pianist alive today. I have no reservation in saying this.
The Andante Maestoso eclipses any performance I have ever heard of it to include even Pletnev himself. It really is unbelievable playing if for anything for the lack of affectation in favour of authenticity, the voice of Divine Love that is Music itself. As well did Keats say: a thing of Beauty is a joy forever.
Added to this, does the dynamism and rhythmic impetus of the Prokofiev, impregnated with moments of such poetry thrown both waywardly and into relief appeal to the contemporary equally at home in Ivan's extraordinary hands. It canvasses the entire gamut of human emotions individualised but in like manner shared through and through.
I have said it before and I will say it again, there is a miracle at work in this young man. Certainly, he is by far the greatest pianist I have ever heard in my lifetime, and likely ever will. What a blessing to be alive and to bear witness to the wonder of it all, and it is a wonder, make no mistake. Bravo Ivan, God bless you!
@Bessonov's Violin I attribute much of my re-awakening to the wonders of Music these past several years to Ivan himself. From the very moment I first heard him play, he turned any notion I previously had on what music making was all about on its heels. I was not sure what I was witnessing in him other than something divine at work. At 62 years of age, to have someone so young teach me through their playing alone what every great teacher I had at his age taught me, but to eclipse them ... can you imagine! Ivan and I corresponded for a while. It was my honour that he wrote me. What I can tell you is that his is a humble heart, He does not place himself before the art that defines him but serves it. Long may he live to light the way for future generations to come which he will do. It is his calling. Blessings, friend!

Ivan's performances are thrilling, nay, overwhelming. I watch an hour's worth every day. I hate the coronavirus for many reasons not the least of which is its stoppage of my being able to see him live.

If you ever have difficulty in appreciating Prokofiev, - as many do - then this performance is the place to start on a great journey of discovery. Ivan manages to transfix us with Prokofiev's vibrant narrative, a storyline of startling variety and contrasts of every kind. Listen out for the long, lyrical reflective soliloquies and maniacal, tempestuous tirades. Ivan's extraordinary musicality and technique are able to realise both to the full. When I first happened on this performance, I knew at once that I had discovered what, until then, had been hidden treasure. Thank you Ivan!

Ivan's warm and gentle personality knows not the meaning of the word hate. His sublime musicianship is heaven sent, during this time of worldly chaos.
I whole heartedly endorse the praise Philip Wilcher has heaped upon Ivan's playing. I wish I could have expressed myself as well. He says he is 64 ,and is inspired by Ivan's playing. I am 84 and this young man inspires me to still 'have a go ' at the piano. I love his huge hands, mine will barely reach an octave and the way they move, like birds wings is miraculous. It would be wonderful if we could buy videos of him performing not only to listen to the music but to watch his hands as we can on this video but on a. much grander scale on a video player. He is very small on my phone! . Perhaps his agent could arrange this as well as bringing out CDs . yet again I say thank you Ivan.
Yes, all is true. I am 82 and I think we are witnessing a star on the horizon. If he has a good agent, he will rise to the top. Maybe we will be around another ten or fifteen years to find out!
I live to hear Ivan play and love seeing him mature over the years. Such a marvelous family. I agree with you that he has marvelous skills and he is inspired to play with such aliveness, and brings music to a new level, as if a new language. We cannot let them block our access to hear him play. I could not open the second part link that is given in the intro. My comment repeated what one wrote that Russian artists are being blocked to us because Russia is being demonized. What a pity we have to play the game of block your neighbor because they have gone on the gold standard, etc. We will not fight any ore wars against our world wide brothers for the benefit of the wealthy and the controllers.

Unable to open the second "constellation" of this competition. One comment on classical music by foreign artists stated that they are blocking Americans from watching on RUclips Russian artists. I am outraged. I am 80 years old and enjoy hearing whatever artists we can get videos as I love to hear them from everywhere.
We are not at war with Russia nor their artists. I do not know why suddenly we are living as if we are in Communist China. Please whoever is driving this stop it. Artists just as sports people have always been allowed to mingle for the most part, particularly in the Olympic games which are watched on TV on many channels, and other athletic games. If it raising money with betting you can be sure they will not block it.
