Great sounding banjo. What is the deal with special resonator and what else with this one ?

The model names are a little quickly, but basically there are three steps to the Goodtime resonator. The regular Goodtime 2 is the most basic resonator. It doesn't have a tone ring-the head sits directly on the wood pot. The "Special" version adds an actual tone ring to the design, so it has more pop, cut, and brighter overall tone. Then, when you step up to the "Artisan" level, you get the dark finish and all of the fancier cosmetics plus a better feel on the fingerboard.

Excellent playing but the banjo i don't think would cut well around other instruments in a band. They are great for playing around the house. I have one. But if your going to get out at a jam it just don't have the stuff to be tuff enough.

You should hear it in person - Great projection.
