I worked in an oil platform offshore in Sulawesi. The biodiversity is magnificent. In the morning you can see dolphins jumping, sometimes a big group of manta ray migrating, sometimes sharks (most sharks in Indonesia are not agressive types) and the fish on the sea surface is magnificent, they are literally luminesce. I even saw a manta of 3-m wide jumped high from the sea. I cannot recommend the site since it is oil site, not open for public. But I heard Gorontalo and many sites in Sulawesi are diving sites, so probably you can search further. Btw, if you are interested in Orang Utan, the ones in Borneo is walking like human, while the ones in Sumatra are hanging on the trees. Why different? Because of Wallacea Line and Weber Line - the movement of earth plates of Asia plate and Australia plate. Hehe.... Just give you a hint, browse about it further if you are interested.

Good suggestions I have been to Indonesia twice going to Jakarta, Bali (did a day trip to Nusa Penida from there), Lombok and Flores Island )did a day trip to Komodo Island from Labuan Bajo). I would love to visit Yogyakarta, Surabaya, parts of Sumatra, Sulawesi and Raja Ampat Islands
Bali has always been the most favorite tourist destination in Indonesia since a long time ago. Also known as the Island of the Gods, its enchanting tropical vibe will immediately welcome you as soon as you step on the island.
I have been a few times and it is definitely one of my favourite countries in the world - #1 reason is the people - I think they are my favourite people in the whole world (and I have been to 6 continents, 74 countries, 15 years abroad). Kindest, funniest, most genuine people - they blow me away every time. The most amazing hotel service I ever experienced was a hotel in Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia. I liked Jakarta (underrated), Bali (deserves it's great rep as the world's best island), Yogyakarta (amazing temples including the world's largest), Lombok (like Bali before it was discovered, great mountain hike and great place for motorbiking around), Sulawesi (itself the world's 11th largest island, not so many tourists - some of the best diving in the world). Still have to visit more - want to go to Bandung mentioned in this video, also Flores and Komodo (Diving in the former, you know what in the latter - don't get too close to them!), and Lake Tobo! I also heard that the far eastern islands have the absolute best scuba diving in the world - hands down - expensive and time-consuming to get to but more than worth it. Next time!!

if you find Indonesia interesting plz visit Nepal. It's more natural and beautiful than Indonesia. if u want to visit Nepal you can do that from October to April, the most appropriate time.
