Sapporo is a beautiful city. Harriet and I enjoyed our time. We were there for three days. We love the green spaces dotted in and around the city. And it's the land of Ramen. You guys hit all the right notes with this video. Super !👏 Sending you hugs and kisses from Richmond, Va. Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Great tour of things to do and eat in Sapporo! I've visited Hokkaido in the winter for the Yuki Matsuri (Snow Festival) and in the summer. On one visit to Sapporo in August many years ago, it was unusually warm, and we were sweating as we sat a little diner-type restaurant, so when we saw a little machine with vents that we thought was an air-conditioner, we asked if they could turn on the a/c, but we were told it was a heater -- They usually don't need a/c, even in the summer, but it was unusually hot that summer. It WAS much better than hot & humid Tokyo, but I think global warming has moved up to the northern Snow Country regions.
I’m loving your videos of this trip. I’m headed to Tohoku in April (Sendai, Yamagata City, Nanyo City, Hakodate, Noboribetsu, Sapporo and a few others TBD). So needless to say, your vids are very helpful. One thing I HAVEN’T seen you do is interact much with others. Have you met many native Japanese and had conversations with them? How did you bridge the language barrier? Do Japanese seem likely to engage or avoid gaijin? Thx again for a great series!
That's awesome. Sounds like a great trip! We did meet and get to interact with lots of cool Japanese people during the trip - especially when we stayed in small family-run guesthouses. We don't film those moments because it would be strange shoving a camera into someone's face when you've just met them. Since we don't speak Japanese, conversations were mostly a mix of broken English and loads of charades acting out what we were trying to say.
@20:13: The Hill of the Buddha, that's a Tadao Ando building (/masterpiece). Very keen to check it out... And the Sapporo Art Forest Open-air Museum also looks very much like my cup of tea. Thanks guys 🙏
I went to both towers as well and even got a history lesson about the clock tower from an elderly guide who wanted to practice his English, LOL. Very informative about how important that school was.
Happy holidays to someone who brings the world closer to us through their travel guides! Your videos are a source of joy. Speaking of which, have you come across the new v4 Bento Bag and the Ikigai Backpack from NomadLane? They look like they'd elevate your travel experiences.
Wow. I saw the picture 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿of the video and thought you were in Eastern Island (Isla de Pascua) in Chile. And they have a Stonehenge too?! I didn’t know. Not so difficult to come to the conclusion they were world travelers indeed. Sapporo looks really inviting. Beautiful video as always guys. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thank you for coming to Sapporo! Sapporo is a very large city, so we recommend that you allow plenty of time for sightseeing. Pristine, beautiful nature and delicious food await you!
Lovely video. Thank you so much! I can't wait to visit Sapporo and I do have an upcoming Sapporo trip planned. One question please: As a solo traveler who doesn't speak Japanese, how would I know when to get off the bus 106 to visit the sculture park and other surrounding attractions you shared in the video? Thank you
I was considering Sapporo over the summer bc Tokyo was too brutally hot last July. But, it sounds like Sapporo may still be too hot if it's uncomfortable even in September.
Hi, me and my family are going to japan next year and we are going to spend 5 days in sapporo, we mainly want to see snow falling (i know its silly but we live in a contry that never snow so 😅 ) our trip is early march, does anyone know if it still snows this yome of the year? And if those ice sculptures are still around? Thanks 😊
Hello! I’m Japanese, live in Sapporo.(I’m sorry for my poor English) I think it snows in Sapporo in early march, and there are not ice sculptures at that time.
@@うぱ崎 hey friend! Thanks for the answer, good to know it still snows! We are going march 2 and leave march 8th, hope we get to see snow falling! Do you know at what date the sculptures end?
No Genghis Khan BBQ this time around. We only had so many days!

Can’t handle the “heat” “humidity” here…they couldn’t handle Osaka, Tokyo, or Virginia for that matter. Haha! I love Sapporo though and Autumn Fest and the Beer Garden festival is fun!

Omg, I see what's going on here! Audrey took Sam to a place where bears live, hoping they would eat him. She is trying to get rid of poor Sam!!! Take care, Sam, take care my friend, don't trust her, there's a vicious mind hiding behind that innocent looking face of hers! Audrey, your treacherous alliance with 🐻🐻 has been revealed! Your omnivorous friends will remain hungry. Repent and Sam may forgive you! 😎
We included a few of the food highlights from our Sapporo food guide (though very shortened clips), but all the attractions are brand new footage that we haven't published elsewhere.
When she needs to work on a construction site, a daughter calls her dad. When a daughter goes out to have fun, she only takes her boyfriend with her - it's not fair! Please take your wonderful dad on a trip at least once.🥰
If you knew my Dad, you'd know Argentina is always his #1 destination of choice! He comes to work, but he also comes because he loves his country and wants to see more of it. 🇦🇷💙 FYI he's been invited to Japan multiple times - hasn't accepted yet! 😅
Work from an angle that he maybe interested in like is he a beef aficionado in Argentina? Have him try some Wagyu beef and then do a visit to Kobe and other Wagyu beef places in Japan.

Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful. 😊 No bears in sight while we were there.
The scenery is beautiful
That was our favourite thing about Sapporo - being surrounded by mountains and greenery! 😊

thanks guys, I felt I had visited Sapporo without even leaving Melbourne , Australia!
Very interesting
Wonderfuly!
When I saw the view of the avenue from the TV tower my first thought was: "What? Are they back in Buenos Aires?" 😁
Haha, not quite! But we do love the wide avenidas in Buenos Aires, especially this time of year when the jacarandas are in bloom. 😊
The ramen place at 23:31 on the left is where I ate. So good and really friendly service.
Nice Sapporo guide.
Thank you for introducing me to Sapporo. I live in Sapporo, so I'm very happy.

Looks like a very pleasant and relaxing city! 😍That crab bowl...yum! 👍

Haha, yes, we weren't expecting to find moai in Japan either! It was quite the surprise and well worth the bus ride to the city outskirts.

Welcome to SAPPORO!!😊
Kitaca has compatibility with Suica , so you can use Kitaca around Tokyo.
Me gusto Saporo muy bueno y me gustó la camiseta de kellog's vintage de Samuel 👍⛩️🎎🇯🇵 Excelente todo el tour Oriental
What's the best month to go to Japan? I wanna visit
I would say autumn or spring. September was still a little too warm for our liking, but we really enjoyed October in Japan.

It sure was! We were struggling with the heat in mid-September. 😅

Bears 🐻 in September? Aren’t they trying to EAT as much as possible before they start to hibernate in the winter ❄️?
September has summer-like weather around these parts. They still had time to prep for winter.
お二人は札幌を訪れた初めての外国人だと思います!
