Was I bashing them? I didn't really mean to. However, it's clear to me that Jersey Jack is offering waaaaaay more quality and game for the same amount of money or less. $7,000 for a super modern well built and loaded JJP game VS. and $8000 Stern LE. There is NO comparison. JJP wins hands down.
I've played this game at the pinball hall of fame in Last Vegas, and again at Pinball Wizards in NH... I thought it was really innovative though it definitely feels different than a Williams or Stern. I've got to say my favorite part is the crystal ball, it looks incredible in person, the video doesn't do it justice.
The game is absolutely superb. Never left me with a feeling of "...so what?" like a lot of the recent Stern titles. A dollar a play, but totally worth it. Super addictive 'cause you want to explore all the modes and stuff. Awesome.
i just saw this game for the first time in person tonight (though didn't get a chance to play it yet) around the corner from my apartment at the seattle pinball museum. it definitely would seem that jersey jack has entered the market with their balls in a wheelbarrow, to say the least. this feels like what pinball 2000 should have been. really excellent design and can't wait to actually play it. i just hope JJ doesn't go broke trying to sell these pricey but beautiful machines.
Nice unboxing. Looks like a new Williams pin. Actually the best thing looks to be not even the LCD, but those amazing color change LEDs, finally a way to use LEDs that enhances the game in a way non-LED bulbs could never do.
Great video John, that machine is pretty special. I really hope JJP can be successful and I'm sure it will make Stern up their game too, which is good news for us pinball fans. Can't wait to see a WoZ in the flesh!
They have one of these WOZ tables in the pier arcade in Bournemouth, Dorset, United Kingdom.. Just in case any uk viewers out there want to give it a try. I loved the crystal ball, and the multicoloured LED play field. And the no place like home ball saver corner is trippy!!
The production values look great. However, I would have much preferred an illustrative look, over Photoshopped imagery. Having said that, the design sensibility is far better than Stern's recent works. Competition is good!
Great video, exactly what I was looking for ! so since the 3.0 is just released, how about a new video to show us rules in details and what changes they made :)
I thought I was in focus during the gameplay. No? Do you mean when we were filming the playfield from above during gameplay? That was totally in focus, wasn't it?
That's why you buy the REGULAR edition Stern games and let the people with more money than sense buy the LE's, that offer very little extra in gameplay vs. the "pro" models. Pinball as an investment is a mistake anyway.
The cup holders are wicked convenient and it cuts down on spills (in my experience). Very well done video, great sound. Just curious what you use for cam/mics?
Try posting a video on Vimeo. I personally like their HD quality much better. I dont even turn HD on on youtube because I get constance buffering and video lag. Or if possible find a hosting site that will just let us DL the video in quality HD.
I love the game... but hate the GI. You pretty much have to have some sort of 3rd party/external lighting to see the game. If you're in a dark room. Good luck seeing the ball ever.
That headphone jack is a cool idea for home use, but it seems like it would just be asking for trouble in a commercial environment. People would break connectors off in that thing about once a week. The old 1/4" headphone jacks are much more robust. I'm not into pinball but those color changing LEDs have a really cool effect. The whole machine looks very classy. I like it. I can't fathom the economics of these machines. It seems that they are too expensive for an operator to realistically make money on them. But I hope I'm wrong about that.
Don Levi Who said anything about the gameplay? I made a comment that it'd LOOK nicer in a finished basement. Settle down - no need to get all upset. Everyone has their opinions.
You shouldn't bash Stern too much, their games still have lots of merit - just in a more traditional DMD type of way. Most of them are still fun and that AC/DC in the background is a great player.
i love your videos, love. anytime the tripod comes out your videos get better. use it all the time, seriously. i just wish you were in focus when the gameplay was happening. p.s. holy shit, reinforcement on why not to have kids..they will do dumb shit to your games. let it boot!
played it in person, the video screen is too distracting, should've stuck with a standard dmd. i dont think jack did a good job on that one in terms of gameplay
This game is incredible. The amount of thought and work that went into this is just amazing. Blows Stern out of the water IMO.
This is what a pinball machine should look like. Absolutely beautiful.
Game looks AWESOME! Hope Jersey Jack has lots of success and sticks around for a long time.
Of all the different editions to this game, it's the Emerald City Edition I want to get some day, because I like the green sparkles.

John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech the Muppets wizard of Oz is staring Ashanti as Dorothy
Yes, I agree!!! Competition is INDEED good. That's what's most exciting here! This is a good time for pinball!
This was so exciting and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing this moment with us

I knew Jersey Jack Pinball had a good product. I'm looking at this as a lesson on what I can do right when I get to that point.
Very colorful pinball machine.
I'm not big on pinball machines, but that thing is damn beautiful.
Wow, that is a beautiful table. Thanks for the in depth look at it. Hope I get to see it in person sometime. :)
Nice unboxing. Looks like a new Williams pin. Actually the best thing looks to be not even the LCD, but those amazing color change LEDs, finally a way to use LEDs that enhances the game in a way non-LED bulbs could never do.
Jersey jack machine kicks ass
love the property... love the playfield...the gimmics are pretty sweet... I'm just not sold on the LCD screen.
Great video John, that machine is pretty special. I really hope JJP can be successful and I'm sure it will make Stern up their game too, which is good news for us pinball fans. Can't wait to see a WoZ in the flesh!

that music dude. im sea sick after that.
Thanks for filling my pinball video at Dans request John. :) The game looks amazing!!! The light show alone makes me wanna crap my pants.
Oh, I think it's a pretty great pin!
Yes, that invisiglass is INVISIBLE! :)
It's about time somebody designs a Wizard of Oz-themed pinball table.
Great video John! Looking forward to meeting you at Grinker's! Gonna be a blast! KTAT.
This Pin is soooo nice!!! Thanks for this video :)
Awesome game!
There's no place like home. Nice review, shame this beauty has to sit next to an AC/DC.
ohh man i really want a pinball machine right now. arghhhh
That's some serious build quality for sure. John, a review of the 'Addams Family' pinball in future would be great if you know of one near you.
"Oren lions the wizard of Oz" on Woz story symbology there are a lot of layers mixed in there.
It's beautiful!
Video display... Well, looks like Future Pinball is going to be short on 2 tables: Baby Pac-Man, and this.
Can future pinball emulate Granny and the Gators, or Caveman pinball machines? They're both video-game pinball hybrids, like Baby Pacman.
Totally want one now
The production values look great.

Wow That Glass!!! I can't tell if is on or not
AHHHHHHHHH stop touching the glassssssss
it's glass. it'll be OK. :)
We need more pinball with "custom storys" like Cirqus Voltaire or Roadshow...
That pinball cost about $6,500 if you pre-ordered it back then. I think it's about $8,000 if you order one now.
Oh god, that scoring system. Just wrong.
Yes, I agree the cup holder is questionable.
I thought I was in focus during the gameplay. No? Do you mean when we were filming the playfield from above during gameplay? That was totally in focus, wasn't it?
Yeah, it's probably more about the lighting than anything. I film in 1080p with a good camera and then RUclips compresses the heck out of it.
That's why you buy the REGULAR edition Stern games and let the people with more money than sense buy the LE's, that offer very little extra in gameplay vs. the "pro" models.
Pinball as an investment is a mistake anyway.
Nice!!
please come back john
I really want to own a pinball machine. How much did the ghost busters one cost
The cup holders are wicked convenient and it cuts down on spills (in my experience). Very well done video, great sound. Just curious what you use for cam/mics?
Stern watch out :O
WHAT?!!! No internal shot except though the coin door?
I guess not
Wha!?!?!? :) I've been doing pinball stuff on here for awhile. :D
Try posting a video on Vimeo. I personally like their HD quality much better. I dont even turn HD on on youtube because I get constance buffering and video lag. Or if possible find a hosting site that will just let us DL the video in quality HD.
The gameplay on Woz imho just isn't there , seems like they rushed the layout . shame because the machine looks fantastic .
How much did the game cost? And how does the game perform when you tilt it?
8000$ beauty
Does DAN only buy new games? Cup holders? Does that com in the box with the game :)
ted? why are you putting the balls on the playfild wen you insert them? can you just put them in the ramps instead?
That looks pretty nice, man :)!
@john did you go to some show/exhibition where they had this WOZ game a little while back? i swear i`ve seen it played before
great review tho
When did Arcade outsiders change into Pinball pixies?
GET A WOZ JOHN!!!!
where do you get that drink holder on the side :3
As Claptrap would say: "STAIRS? NOOOOOOOOOO"
Can you change the limit of balls in game like changing 5 to 3 balls? Or is it permanent, Do they have this on both, Jersey Jack and Stern?
I'm sure you can. That's a pretty standard setting for all pinball games.
how much for a pinball like this ?
Lol. He put the down payment for WOZ on my birthday.
up above gameplay. youre close. zoom in all the way. focus. zoom out. record.
if not, damn do these hd tvs have me spoiled.
It's only glass!! Come on! :)
I love the game... but hate the GI. You pretty much have to have some sort of 3rd party/external lighting to see the game. If you're in a dark room. Good luck seeing the ball ever.

I can't fathom the economics of these machines. It seems that they are too expensive for an operator to realistically make money on them. But I hope I'm wrong about that.
They're also working on a Hobbit pinball machine.
Great machine, but it'd look even better in a finished basement!
Don Levi Who said anything about the gameplay? I made a comment that it'd LOOK nicer in a finished basement. Settle down - no need to get all upset. Everyone has their opinions.
when are we going to get xfiles pinball review
I'd love to review that game. I just don't know anyone that has one! :)
that state fair pop bumper is almost like a data east bumper.
I'm not usually into pinball but this, this is sexy.
Eventually it will be sitting next to a Predator and Hobbit. ACDC is a great game, stop the hate. ;)
What's not right with it?
Probably best if you don't have any.
The Stern games have more modes then WOZ
Lol that voice crack
I just wanted to keep yelling 'trap the ball' 'trap the ball'
I can hear shock troopers
Sorry man, but everytime you touch the glass it makes me cringe! Just my OCD kickin in. Nice vid, man.
how much does this cost?
it looks like you are touching the objects
You shouldn't bash Stern too much, their games still have lots of merit - just in a more traditional DMD type of way. Most of them are still fun and that AC/DC in the background is a great player.
How much one of these bad boys run like 7 gs
Why are you poking everything with your finger? Wouldn't the machine look nicer if the glass didn't have unnecessary fingerprints on it?
Bad camera angle
What did this thing cost?
$6,500 at the time.
theres a lot of things NOT right with WOZ, so dont take it all to heart that its a good thing.
i love your videos, love. anytime the tripod comes out your videos get better. use it all the time, seriously. i just wish you were in focus when the gameplay was happening. p.s. holy shit, reinforcement on why not to have kids..they will do dumb shit to your games. let it boot!
just a tip.. dont have 1000x zoom on.. then u dont have to jerk the camera around 99.99% of the time *puking* (almost) :P nice pin tho.
TOTO'S DEAD!
John..Why the annoying MIDI music??!
turned out to be shit with the lights and every thing breaking on this. Jersey jack seems to make cool ones. but not good ones lol.
Jesus!
played it in person, the video screen is too distracting, should've stuck with a standard dmd. i dont think jack did a good job on that one in terms of gameplay
I said what i can do, i didn't say "rip it off"
