Driving to Val Thorens, France

Driving up to the highest ski resort in Europe, Val Thorens in France. The resort itself is at 2300 meters. Unfortunately, the world could not go skiing this year due to the pandemic. Driving past these towns built for ski tourism brings back good memories though, fingers crossed that 2022 will be okay again. The road to Val Thorens is 36 kilometers long and starts in Moûtiers. It must be quite a ride up there in winter!

Beautiful drive in The French Alps, to Val Thorens, a resort built during the 60s, in a french programme to allow ski for everyone. Looks a little bit depressive in summer, I think they can do more to attract tourists there also in summer, there are good possibilities for mountainbiking or hiking there. Hope to drive next year on the Route des Grand Alpes, let's see if I will manage it. Greetings from a fellow roadtrip lover from Germany!

It's impossible to get a clean shot from the inside, so I mounted the GoPro on the outside.

What a boring, over development. Waste of time driving there. Especially in that beautiful part of France.
