Me how to get less wattage on gpu use chill mode like 90fps on campaign modes less heat and use fan curve I keep it on all the time I use max 70c 40% it doesn't get that hot if you capped your fps on chill mode plauge tales it doesn't show up but I capped at 60fps on the game which fine slow game
Rx 5000 series using hotspot temp to regulate fan speed, so if u set fan speed to 100% on 85 degrees hotspot, it will sound like a plane turbine, when not hotspot temp will be about 60-70. I think 6000 series uses same temp control method
So is that why my pc sounds like a jet engine when cpu and gpu are kinda chilling? I have it on stock fan curves. Is there a way to help this or is it just what comes with having a 5 year old amd gpu?
What? Having fans at 85°C on 100% is pretty conservative. When your temps are this high, your hotspot temps will be way higher. Your gonna get thermal throttled if you dont turn your fans at 100% on 85°C
on my 6800 I can get more than 10 extra FPS by setting the power limit to +10%, and dropping the voltage to .960volts. It will boost up to 2400mhz core, and pulls less than 190 watts, compared to the stock 250watts. AMD cards love being undervolted. I had very similar results with an RX6650XT also.
it turns off constantly, just use msi afterburner or something else. it will literally never permanently stay, and anytime u crash a program or ur pc it resets it too

is true
You're correct
You can do both, having a good fan curve is always important, undervolted or not

make this in latest update now 2023 i thought amd latest update driver they disable the zero mode so you cant customize fan speed now
That was cap😂😂
