Donny Osmond is the absolute best there is. Such a great sport and charming as all get out. I remember watching "The Osmonds" cartoon way back when I was a wee lad. Still love their songs.
No wonder the show didn't do well. You don't put D-list American celebs in a show, except in America, if you want it to blow up and do well. Also, the seating arrangement and audience don't look right, logistically speaking. And generally, most Pele love their pets very much, so a stuffed dead dog, especially a black one, is not a good prop. I get the pub bit, but think it's less likely to be funny than just having a bunch of flags, all centered around the UK flag with that flag noticeable bigger. Frankly, I think more effort should've been made to develop Al's standup routine in the states, if he could handle a few years touring - with a few YT vids of bits of his act a few times a year and then quickly move him into his own television sitcom as, unsurprisingly, the pub guy or, perhaps, in the role of a substitute teacher a few times on the Community show. Seems to me even a pairing with Gervais as a new Odd Couple? They'll both be sexist and idiotic, Al much more so, but will routinely get away with it because they can blame their accents or start speaking in languages no one can fathom. Which, for most of America, won't be difficult to believe. Gervais is probably too big for a TV or Netflix thing right now, but Al and Rainn Wilson would be a good Odd Couple pairing(though don't center everything in the apartment for goods sakes, theyre too funny for that) Get Gervais to write a few episodes and Larry David on occasion to help make it funny, not just 'clever'. Mix up supporting cast with Rain having a good friend with Aspbergers, and Al would have visiting friends and family sometimes. Make Rainn a burnt-out engineer having a mid life crisis and a western movie fascination. Al should be a bar manager, with aspirations to remarry but gets sucked along by Rainn to try horse riding, surfing, rock climbing, sky diving, etc. Hilarity ensues, while occasionally having Rainns friends along. Their occasional political discussions can create tension. Al's very sharp and too funny not to gain a wider audience than he currently has, imnsho.

That was hilarious, and the image of Donny singing to a stuffed dog will forever be in my head.
