Do this exercise. Take away any team 2nd option, best interior defender, best perimeter 3D guy, & best scorer off the bench. Lets see how far they go.

Coach Thibodeau needs to open up his rotation and spread the minutes out. Imo go to a solid 10 man lineup in the regular season for chemistry and rest. When the playoffs start your rotation is healthy. Coach feeds his main guys to the injury wolves. I'll call for a new gameplan before I call for a man's job. New York is championship caliber with a balanced rotation.

  • @ortforshort7652

The Knicks had a nice team in the playoffs.
If I were to make a recommendation is: push all of the chips into the middle of the table on the team that played in the playoffs:
Give Brunson the long term deal
Re sign Anunoby for whatever it takes
Re sign Hartenstein for whatever if takes
You also have Hart and DeVincenzo as keepers as part of your core.
Everybody is expendable and, actually, you need to trade Randle and Robinson because they are both not only cluttering up the court, but the cap, as well.
I would trade those two plus Bogdanovich, who will, unfortunately, be a cap casualty for assets that the Brooklyn Nets want plus whatever future picks the Nets want in the Knicks draft stockpile and trade all of that for Mikhail Bridges.
Adding Bridges to the nucleus above plus adding by subtracting Randle and Robinson would make the Knicks legitimate title contenders moving forward. A young, talented team that plays the game the right way.

No, Tom Thibodeau created an overachieving team by stressing the hell out of their muscles, joints, and tendons to the degree that they couldn't advance past the 2nd round of the Playoffs despite being the #2 seed in the East. Too much playing time leads to injuries...overuse or otherwise, the more a player is exposed to the court, the more likely they'll be injured. Someone needs to manage Thibs.

The odd infatuation with "European" players is odd. Luka plays like Harden. Giannis is 1 of 1 and doesn't play like any other Euro. There is only one Jokic for all the Zubacs, Nurkics who are just bodies. And Embiid (African) gets conveniently omitted from the conversation. This is folks who have an axe to grind with - lets call a spade a spade - "black"/black American basketball and can conveniently blame AAU.
Except... AAU gave us Chris Paul, Lebron, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry basically some of the most fundamentally sound basketball players ever. It's currently giving us Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Tyrese Haliburton. Edwards just knocked out Joker if you're keeping score. Broussard, you literally just made a non-point with the Ball brothers.... one family got TWO children in the NBA a few years apart, and that is some sort of black mark because they got injured? It literally is an success story of astronomic odds.

You wasn’t paying attention if you didn’t see them. Stop disrespecting Julius Randall. He demands a double team. Brunson would’ve got shots. Scoring numbers would’ve came down some, but he would’ve got shots. Randall had Brunson get shots. Had everybody on the team get shots at times to knowledge the injuries for real shows you what a lame ass analyst is.
