Think there's three guitars. Will never really know if Brian played at all on the finished studio version. Although wiki has him listed playing electric guitar. Take a listen to the alternate version with Mick singing yeah Yeah almost sounds like a live take. Think Brian definitely plays on that one.

Well, I don't know the answer to that. My intention in this video was to build a way to play this song using two guitars in standard tuning so that I don't need an alternate tuning. I got a result that works for my use satisfactorily and decided to share it. My intention was not to show the exact way they play, as that would lead me to use open tunings, which it turns out is a guitar in an open D and another guitar using the Nashville tuning. I do not know for sure.

I’ve got a Stones bootleg DL’d from BitTorrent called Obsidian and it has contemporary outtakes from the early days into the late 70’s and there’s a JJF version which seems to have two lead guitars playing licks, perhaps Keith + Keith overdubs but it does sound like Mick Taylor which if contemporary would be before he joined the band and I have heard he jammed with them in 68 before joining later.

Thanks! This Stones song is not in standard tuning, it's done in an open tuning (I don't remember which one, I think it's Open E). I wouldn't have a guitar to just leave it in that tuning so I created a standard tuning arrangement that could approximate what it sounds like in the original song. I used the capo and found what sounded best to me. I decided to post to share this, although some didn't understand the proposal and maybe thought I was saying that the song was originally played that way and in that tuning. I did the same with Honky Tonk Women and a few others and posted it on my channel. Best wishes!
