As someone who minored philosophy and got his masters in history I do personally find your parodies of these figures to probably be what their modern personalities would be
@BrokenSIMGlasses It gives form to the Spiritual. That's how the Holy Grail can summon Heroic Spirits, they sacrificed the only user of the 3rd magic to create the Greater Grail in imitation of the planets power to summon heroes to defend itself. If applied to everyone all the time it means immortality. If you die and become a ghost you're given form again. Over and over again, or your new body is completely Immortal. Either way.
Man, this was so worth the wait! Fran/Eve speaking in Sieg’s head has to be my favorite part, and I had no idea how much I wanted that in the original show until now:
I honestly like Mordred vs Seig. The music combined with how the caption changed colors added to the excitement. Not to mention the music fits perfectly with Sieg so well. It even got better when Spartacus and Jeanne used their noble phantasms with Jeanne noble Phantasm getting its music.
I love how you guys bring new dynamics and emotions to the already established characters to the point where I don't feel like I'm watching an other version of the show
@Savagewolver the asspull where Seig had Frankenstein's Noble Phantasm. In the anime, it comes out of nowhere in the final fight. We have no way of knowing that Seig's close proximity allowed him to absorb it. Even if there was a game or novel or manga or whatever that existed beforehand (I don't actually know), it still should've been included.
Seeing the shorts for these episodes are a major part of why I wanted to get into the Fate series and watch the official release(s), just to make sure I really understood everything (an impossible task, I've learned). Now that I've binged everything I can find, I'm finally able to watch this abridged series, and I gotta say, fantastic work to everyone involved. The writing, voice acting, and editing are all wonderful, and the music is SO ON POINT. I'm excited to see more, whenever that may come. Thanks for making something awesome.
Thank you for the massive carry to bring this back from the dead. I hope you don't have to do so much yourself going forward, though I know that a lot of the old crew fell apart due to reasons beyond anyone's control.
Oh my god, I can’t believe this is back! What’s incredible though, is the fact that this came out the same day a few hours after I decided to rewatch the first three.
I rembember recording Episode 4 with OBS to have it on my Computer I actually prepared a Tab with Ep 4 to do the same Now I dont need to do this anymore NEAT
I've lost count of how many times I've re-watched Mordred vs Sieg/Siegfried, Ruler blocking Spartacus's attack, and Mordred and Sieg vs Golem Keter Malkuth
This series gets better every time I watch it. Episode 5, the musical score is the best I've heard jn any abridged series. Phenomenal work. I hope Episode 7 will come
Can we all appreciate that Vlad had more than a little bit of Alucard poking his head out during his fight with Karna? 🤣🤣 Also, can i point out the hilarity of Mordred; who's basically a Dragon Hatchling given human form; is so god damned cocky when fighting someone; borrowed form and power or no; who KILLED a full grown Dragon Solo and bathed in its blood?
Dude, you have no idea just how happy I am that you put this out. It's stuff like this that helps me forget about the world constantly being on fire, and I can't wait to see what you cook up in the future. I don't care how long it takes, so long as you are happy with what you give us, and what you HAVE given us so far is TFS quality content.
The LEGO death sounds was great. I love the sassy lines thrown about between everyone too, it just brings a smile to my face… and of course death by laughter.
MAN does this get my writing gears SPINNING! Shakespere's noble pbantasm tirnong fhe animation into just text, the entirety pf the eve and victor flashback, just everything arround Eve. UGH. How dare you make me care about berserker? Fuckin, i'm gona go write something to burn this energy off.
Hearing Heather Dale's Joan play for Jeanne's action moment was so fucking hype. I didn't expect to hear that. I really should've watched these episodes sooner than waiting for them to go up on RUclips.
I loved every second of this video Blue, and I am grateful to see you’re still up and running and you’re enjoying this again. Hope the see more of what your talent and passion has! Wish you the best
So, I noted something during the livestream I'd like to delve a bit into in a mini-essay. Namely, why Darnic and Vlad work, at least imo. I could ramble on about the various (and sometimes even consistent) lore regarding concepts of the soul and Heroic Spirits, about how FGO and El-Melloi Case Files canonize natural humans interacting with, embodying and even becoming Servants in their own right, how the Command Seals and mana systems involved could be used to theoretically hack the entire system (short form; Command Seals can incarnate a Servant. At that point, slipping a mind, if not a spirit into a Servant feels almost easy.) But that's really just fan wank, end of the day, and not really worth delving deep into. It works, so moving on. No, I like how Darnic and Vlad work in relation to Sieg and Siegfried. The parallels, how each one represents different aspects of the same ambition... To live. It's funny. Darnic has lived for a century by this point, fusing his soul with that of an *infant* to hold back the clock on his aging. (There's the concept that his very concept of reality has been altered as a result, literally becoming more childlike in his ideals, but anyway.) And since then, since stealing the Grail and pausing his clock, it's like he's been literally frozen in time, not *living* beyond this one moment in pursuit of immortality. Contrast to the very years before then, Darnic was *active.* A rising star mage, the last hope of his line, he was living a full life struggling to overturn a doomed fate and renew the Yggdmillenia line, becoming a Grand mage in the Clock Tower, getting married, teaching class and gradually pursuing the Root... Which led to him summoning Fionn in the 3rd War and betraying his less-than-savory allies in pursuit of his own power. And then... Nothing. He spent the next 80 years tinkering with the Greater Grail, collecting dropout mages to be his flunkies... All in pursuit of Vlad and his ultimate goal of living forever as a Vampiric lord. ...But what was the point? He'd literally spent the last 80 years of his life locked up and pursuing a selfish goal for the sake of itself. Life for life's sake, not in pursuit of... *anything.* Now contrast that to Sieg, and the parallels become much clearer. Sieg was fundamentally given the same choice by Ruler; as reward for his active efforts to escape and will to live, and in respect to Siegfried, Sieg would be allowed to run away to god knows where and just... Live. Quietly, alone or with those he found, as a person of no ambition or wish. And rather than take the time given to him... He decided to live in the moment. To manifest his life in the moment, and use it toward goals and ambitions and the people already around him. He's making the far more heroic *choice* than Darnic ever did... To live his life, not just survive it. The goal should never be to break the clock... If you do, fantastic. But what point does that have when you have to give up all semblance of your own life to do so? And yes, that's a huge part of it. Darnic willingly gave up himself, over and over, in pursuit of his dream. In what would later prove to be an uncanny resemblance to Amakusa's own plan for humanity, Darnic didn't care if he had to give up all that made him who he was... His ambition for the Root, his defiant stance against the Clock Tower, his protection and resurrection of the Yggdmillenia clan... None of that mattered to him as much as batting away the hand of the Grim Reaper a little longer. So when he finally "became a Servant," got his "immortality," he got it at the fundamental cost of all that he was. Even his *soul* seemingly had no worth so long as he could ride along in the body of a vampire. Contrast to Sieg, who accepted Siegfried's loyalty and sacrifice as a part of who he was... And *built on top of it.* _Actively made it a part of himself, and _*_went beyond_*_ it._ In the end, Sieg even achieves what could be mistaken for Darnic's dream of immortality... But because he never let go of his ambition, his drive, and in the end his love... He could remain himself. A truly Heroic act. So... Yeah. So long, Darnic. You were alive for a length of time many would be envious... But it's such a shame you _lived_ for so short a time.
You are an absolute legend for this. Really appreciate your perspective on the topic. You could dive into so many unique and fantastic interactions between inverted parallels and allegories present in the Fate series’ beautiful storytelling. And it’s always excellent to see another person who appreciates the intricacies so deeply❤️
Great Job Y'all! Saw this in my feed, got a plate of food, and absolutely loved everything you did hear! Can't wait to see how you handle Ol'Jackie the ripcord and I hope you have a great day.
Fantastic job! Great to finally see 4 & 5 finally on youtube. This series is what finally got me to start watching and reading fate(this is a compliment, I assure you), as in I've enjoyed this series so much that I watched Apocrypha, loved it, then went down the rest of the fate anime adaptations. I've now gotten to point that I'm now reading through the apocrypha light novels and manga, because the ideas in this story are so intriguing to me. And for the record, I've enjoyed this much more than the anime adaptation, and honestly has had me more seriously consider the prospects of being a voice actor. Thank you again everyone who worked on this so much for this amazing series
I've been following the patreon and know you've been updating fairly regularly with scenes and episodes, but regardless: Congratulations on 4 years of effort. Excellent work.
I cannot believe it took me four full months to get around to this and watch it. It's December 1st, and I've just got here! What is wrong with me?! Seriously though, worth the wait. While I miss the old voices, this is great, and I can't wait for more.
23:35 List of things to NOT say to Mordred? THAT had to be in Top 5. Also man, Shakespeare's chants go HARD. (As did a LOT of things in this, from Vlad's speeches to Noble Phantasm activations!)

Nice to see "When The Wild Wind Blows" appear once again in a Fate Abridged. Love that song.
