Your content gave me the courage to apply for a semestre abroad in the Netherlands and the other semester abroad in Japan. I know that it will be extremely hard as someone who has always lived with her parents, but I know that I will never regret taking the decision of challenging myself and pushing me to evolve by stepping out of my comfort zone. I absolutlely agree with the whole "micro trends" things. (sometimes) when I am having conversation swith my friends they'll reference a trend. And when I don't get it, they'll be like "ohh you don't have tiktok?" or "nevermind, he doesn't get it". At times it is annoying or I'll feel so behind. So sometimes conversing with peers is difficult. I really miss when we could just talk normally, at a human-to-human level (as you said).
The vids that you post & the vibe that you put out is so tranquilizing. For long I forced the opinion that TikTok, Instagram, and such make us connect more when I find it now to be partially true. It has increased the frequency of communications but not necessarily improved the way we connect to each other. More often than not things go through this filter and that filter, only to filter out the real energy in the conversations. There is this sensory experience that social media clearly lacks. All in all, Jing, thank you for including your thoughts in the videos. I get to see things from new perspectives. It's so therapeutic. A compliment in the moment forces us to recognize that there is something to compliment in all of us, e.g. nice shoes! Self-depreciating humor forces us to recognize that we are not "better" than anyone, nor is anyone "better" than us, e.g. I would look silly in those shoes, but they look really good on you. Sometimes I have amazing conversations with complete strangers. Sometimes, not so much. Also, full disclosure in a hopefully non-clumsy way, I am a guy, so I don't have certain fears or concerns that a girl might have in suddenly speaking to strangers.

Wow I am shocked at the fact, that we have the absolute same thoughts and worries!!! From thinking that you need to figure out one version of yourself and sticking to it, even though we can have many facets, to feeling weird when people see you bare faced, because you have set the bar so high with always trying to look good, that when you have a normal/ laid back day, it feels weird We are all going through the same in our 20s, trying to figure it all out and I love it 🤍

From thinking that you need to figure out one version of yourself and sticking to it, even though we can have many facets, to feeling weird when people see you bare faced, because you have set the bar so high with always trying to look good, that when you have a normal/ laid back day, it feels weird

I'm definitely in a place of figuring myself out at the moment, I'm a mature student in London and have been single for many years, flitting between places and people. Being a complete hopeless romantic sometimes it's hard to romanticise yourself and put yourself first, but I really love this video and it gives me inspiration to take myself out on a little date!
