    So fun watching newbies install vinyl wrap lol. But mind you I was the same at the very beginning. The problem with Chinese vinyl is that it’s super tacky so to make life a lot less stressful it helps to have a second hand. Both stand on each side fender and pull as hard as you can while lowering it at the same time to get the middle down as flat as possible that way you only have to deal with the four corners of the hood. Other than that great job bro! Only way to learn is to actually pick up some vinyl and roll wit it.

    • @gocardogo
      @gocardogo  6 лет назад

      Junior Tangi Definitely learned to do this with 2 people now! Lol. Thanks for that, and thanks for watching!

    • @angelnoel7
      @angelnoel7 5 лет назад

      Vvivid isn't Chinese... OMG... But great work. Next time if you can try not to wrap in the sun, because it gets really soft and stretches more than usual. Just saying.

    Just found your channel and I really dig the black-out on the hood. Laying that wrap looked easier than I thought. I'm trying to wrap a Crown Vic now but I think the cold temp's are making it tough as it just won't lay right. -Chris

    • @gocardogo
      @gocardogo  7 лет назад

      East Coast Classics Thanks Chris! Yeah the cold would definitely alter how it sets. When I did this wrap, it was about 70 degrees outside. It was hot, but the heat helped keep the vinyl warm and the hood warmer so that it stretched easier. This was my first time wrapping anything too! Lol. Still in perfect condition even today! Be sure to subscribe & share this how-to man. Good luck!

    For everyone trying to do this first off don't buy vivvid vinyl, get 3m 1080 or Avery sw900.
    And when you lay it on the hood hold the two corners with your hands, bite down in the middle if the vinyl to keep the tension even across the vinyl then pull and lay at the same time. Make sure you lick your lips so they're not dry because the vinyl can stick to the thin skin on your lips. Squeegee down the center and repeat on the other side.
    Don't work it corner by corner

    • @gocardogo
      @gocardogo  6 лет назад +1

      Tracy Thompson Thanks for the tips! In the future I too would go with 3M, but this hood wrap still holds up perfectly (as it’s daily highway driven). Check out my other videos to see. Thanks for the info, and for watching✌🏾

    Looks good. I have a delima. I have a charge17 charger also and I want to wrap the roof or the hood. If I do one or the other what in your opinion will have a better look. Wrapping the hood or wrapping the roof, matte black of course?

    • @gocardogo
      @gocardogo  7 лет назад +1

      black star Hey what's up! I'd say wrapping the roof first would be a better look because it would give your rear glass, roof, and front glass that unified look. Then, wrap the hood if you wanted it to look further unified. I did my roof first as well. Once I'd did both though I got Whole mother level of attention to it!

    Are u poking holes in the wrap the release the air??? Be careful because That was my first mistake when I wrapped my hood because those holes became larger over the next few months leaving me to have to redo it latet love the vid other than that concern!!!

      airmax90kid Thanks man! I am indeed poking needle holes, and I knew about the potentials. For me, it's been about the maintenance of it. So far I've had no holes (I drive on i75 everyday) lol. Thanks for the concern and support man, I appreciate it!

    good job man, next time to make it easier for you, its better to install vvivid in a closed space with temp around 70 degrees. doing it out in the sun makes the adhesive activate which is why it was so hard for you to preposition it

    It's so effin hot here in Vegas, do you think I'll still need to use the heat gun for folding the edges??? In fact, did the wrap come with any information regarding the temperature the car body should be when wrapping? Does it matter??

    • @gocardogo
      @gocardogo  7 лет назад

      Winter In Vegas in general, you'd want the body temp to be cool to the touch. Though in this video it's actually about 89+ degrees outside, I'd still recommend the use of a heat source (hair dryer or heat gun lol) to concentrate the heat on specific areas.
