Saw them TODAY at Cantigny Park in Illinois---Wayne ROCKED the place, which is usually filled with very conservative wealthy people. He had them running all around dancing and cheering! QUITE A SIGHT!

That accordion player shreds...maybe he is the best. But that vest instrument is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I couldn't even hear what it sounded like. What is it even called?
Washboard (see links below). The version he has is built from the ground up as an instrument but it was originally just a washboard that they used to scrub dirty clothes on back before washers and dryer sets. They were made of metal and, often, a kind of thick glass with bumps on it. People would strum over the bumps with metal thimbles on their finger tips to get a kind of scratchy rhythm line. Sort of like maracas in Cuban and Mexican music if that makes any sense. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washboard_(laundry) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washboard_(musical_instrument)

Saw Them last night. Amazing Performance! I felt like I was in a 'ol Southern Baptist Church during Revival during a hot summer night
Saw them in the Quarter for the very first Zydeco experience in Summer of 2002. What a show. Just a little old FC bar...
A real HAPPY 44th Birthday to Mr. Dwayne Dopsie and really ALL the best to him ... (2023-0303)
One of the best performers
Woah! Great sound and he’s a thrill to watch
They are amazing and really get the crowd going! We love them!
They * rocked out * at La Fete De Marquette on July 14 in Madison WI

I seen washboard abs before but never abdominal washboards.

Zydeco musicians call it a rub board, basically a washboard idea turned into an instrumental bib
