Hey I'm an Australian who is thinking of studying journalism and I just stumbled across your video. It was actually really cool to see how you go about doing an interview, how it all came together and the final product which was awesome. Best of luck with it everything.

Thanks Kyrie! Journalism is definitely a great degree to pursue and I feel that it is general enough as to apply to a variety of career pathways but is also specific enough that it helps guide you on a certain path :) Glad you enjoyed the vid!!

From someone who has been in the business for 5 years now, good job! It’s great to get started on your reel/portfolio as early as you can. Remember to search for the “human voice” to add to your stories as well. (In this case, I would say a patron of the bowling alley.)

Do you think ASU is good for journalism? And how do you think it differs from other schools on it's journalism program

    • @madisonyoung4034

Honestly, I would not have attended ASU if it was not for their journalism program. I think the Walter Cronkite School is amazing, I love school mainly because I get to attend such a great university. My favorite things at Cronkite is that they have a large variety of programs, clubs and opportunities to develop the types of reporting that interest you. Cannot recommend enough! ASU is a large university as well so a lot of connections within the workforce and the tuition is reasonable compared to private universities, especially if you can get a scholarship like the New American University Scholar - Dean's Award.
