To me, SM is like the medical school of trainee systems. All are like universities, but med school is _way_ more intense and demanding. Most don't finish, but those who do are literal surgeons in their fields. JYP is "feel", YG is "swag", SM is "technical". Maybe we should call her Dr. Young? ;)
finally a kpop interview that isn't "what western artist would you like to collab with?" and "what's your favorite american food?" and all these other vapid questions
also interview questions are not done on the spot, industry information here; all questions are given ahead of time and their managers and label execs sign off on what they can and cannot be asked/answer. So that's why some are more boring than her's. She can answer freely. Just food for thought.
Anthony Vu I am aware, and I understand. I am just simply stating it's refreshing to see a kpop idol get interviewed and the questions aren't the same as every other interview
Tiffany was being very humble when talking about Girls Generation success! They are literal LEGENDS in kpop! They are seen as a "text book" for other girl groups to follow and where also competing and winning against a very boy group dominating time. In korea they are basically ROYALTY!
the receipts she pulled out were so modest, too....like even when she mentioned the 1 million album sales thing, i wanted her to mention they were the first korean group to do it so badly omg
Hyoyeons Blondehair Every time I’ve a positive or kind opposition post from you in this comment section, I’m like “SEE A GOOD HYOYEON STAN.” Don’t be so hateful. It’s the internet but people are people and a comment section should not be where you hate on other fans.
This is like the wittiest interview I've ever watched. The conversation just flows and omg lemme tell you Tiff is such a genius conversationalist. There is barely filler words in her remarks, so insightful and her demeanor clearly shows that she's a true professional in this industry
46:24 "When Girls' Generation first started there weren't that many girlbands, and then came this HUGE, like era of girlband after which is i'm proud to say WONDER GIRLS AND GIRLS' GENERATION STARTED IT"
having been a k-pop fan for almost 10 years and being a fan because of SNSD...this has been the most open and free I've seen Tiffany talk and it's so refreshing! What an amazing interview and YES ZACH GO TO KOREA!!! changes need to be made!
me too from the Middle east , k-pop are very popular here .. my favorite are SNSD, KARA , T-ARA , Wonder Girls , SISTAR .. and from the new generation I like TWICE & BLACKPINK
Tbh most fans are pretty intuitive when it comes to their fave's personalities and emotions. Back when Tiffany was under SM you could still see and feel her personality so clearly and that's why so many people connected to her. Taeyeon, whose still under SM and is one of their most successful idols to date, shares her feelings of depression and anxiety and antisocialness all the time and that is arguably what has made her such a fan favorite.
Tiffany is from what ppl call the 2nd generation of Kpop. 1st generation was in the 90s and it was mostly in Korea. 2nd generation was in the 2000s, where social media began so they were responsible for the birth of kpop niche genre outside Korea/Asia. They call it the "Hallyu Wave". Kdrama is also a huge part of the Hallyu wave too. 3rd generation is right now, continuing it and are now breaking the mainstream in the west. 4th generation is coming up and who knows what records and history is gonna be made.
I would say 2004/2005 is where second gen started because BOA in 2001 was definitely first generation and identifies with most of those older groups and was the beginning of the kpop aspect of the hallyu as she really dove into Japan and before social media's huge wave. Also the Hallyu wave was not just kpop. It was the spread of Korean culture and even dramas and movies and people.
Sims Rock 99 TVXQ isn't 2nd generation. They belong to generation 1.5 same with BoA. 2nd generation started around 05~06 with Super Junior and Big Bang as two of its biggest artists.
Ezee Flores when tvxq debuted, it was a lot of solo artists, duos and almost all 1st gen groups inactive/disbanded by the time they debuted, and their career really took of and peak in 2nd gen kpop era. Saying that they are 1gen is like saying exo is a 2nd gen group.
I love when she said the biggest thing that she loved about being with Girls' Generation is that she found togetherness and individuality with the members. We can see that in SNSD the members can stand by themselves because they had great individuality but the bond that they have is also amazing. They grew up together and they find themselves together with those people who's always with you
Red Velvet's Kingdom Come issa BOP Imagine a squad like them who can talk what they hate about their members publicly. That’s how deep their friendship is, they can diss a member without having any conflicts between them. My squad still haven’t reached that kind of friendship because we still feel jealous to each member. But unlike them, they can say what they envy about their members and since they have different personalities they can shine together. That’s how perfect this group is, they have individuality and togetherness.
Zach is clearly genuinely interested and sympathetic---no script or digging for dirt. A very thoughtful interview. I think that's rare, and I'm impressed.
Having Tiffany in the U.S and giving interviews is so much different from Korea. You were able to really talk about things that usually wouldn't be for idols, such as company control (even though we all know). Loved it!!
51 MINUTES?!?!?!?! OMFG ZACK YOU SPOIL US!!!! thank you!!! i love tiffany ever since i got into snsd and tts!!! WOW WHAT A AMAZING INTERVIEW AS WELL!!!
This is the most raw and authentic interview I’ve ever heard about a Kpop Artist and I am glad it’s with Tiffany since she’s part of a legendary girl group. All of the questions were so well thought of and obviously the hosts made their proper research to build a rapport with Tiffany and it turned out to this amazing interview which will definitely be one for the books. Let’s not leave out the beautiful visual and sounds thanks to the HD cam and mic AND it’s almost an hour long! Thanks Zach Sang Show! ❤️
I still think, she went quite around it for the answers, I know it's hard to come out of it with the raw stuff, but Zach kinda gave the answers to himself already about the hard stuff, and Tiff was just Yeah, eh eh eh... bla bla I had in a amazing experience.. There was little detail but well, I can relate that it's hard to come out with that..
Zach was looking for an inside scoop -- kind of a tell all revelation. The thing that Zach is unaware of is that for all of Tiffany's and the group's success, she is NOT management, therefore, she literally has no idea of what's going on management-wise with GG, or with how SM really does business. When you are an employee in a Korean company, it's strictly a head-down, nose-to-the-grindstone affair. Zach''s leading questions regarding what he thinks is the Korean idol industry is really just his own biases. He really doesn't know how these girl groups are management, let alone how companies like SM Entertainment do business. To Tiffany's credit, though, it's clearly obvious she doesn't really know either, and is still too close to the group and SM to give it any perspective.
its sad because this should just be the norm for an interview, you can see she still has a bit of a guard up from all the conditioning the label gave her
I just watched this amazing interview, this week, here in Oct 2022 and without reading your comment - basically commented the exact same thing - 4 years after you! So little has changed within Kpop, for the freedom & choice given to these 'idols', who are actually individual artists. It's such an important conversation & discussion, now more than ever.
Appearently Tiffany forced the label to give them a full album. SM entertainment offered them to release a single, but the bandmembers and especially Tiffany fought for a full album. We don't know exactly what the final negotiations and terms wound up being tho. Source: Tiffany Young on Harper's Bazaar, 15.11.2022. 💗
@@finnlinnsone Yes! And I thank them for that. They really thought about us and sacrificed so much of their time for us. And they did keep their promise. Manager Hwang IS THE MANAGER HWANG!
It's really interesting to hear an idol talk about kpop in such an honest way. You can really tell that their isn't a manager behind the camera telling her what to do and that's great for her
this was honestly such a great and beautiful and honest interview. honestly i can always rely on the zach sang show to always provide such open and truthful spaces for not just the people being interviewed but also the people who watch it, like me. tiffany is among the OG GG in kpop and i will always support her b/c i love what she stands for.
I think this interview really shows how much Zach loves his craft. He and his team researched a lot about GG and Fanny, and he actively listens to her and responds and empathizes with her. He doesn’t ask the generic “who do you want to collaborate with?” Or silly American artist related questions. He asks her about her and her experiences. I loved it. I selfishly want him to interview SHINee who also have been through a lot and also have celebrated their 10 years.
@@alexa3417 maybe in korea but worldwide, those three groups had such a big impact. my entire country in the philippines were singing to ever hit song those groups had at tht time. it was such a fun time. they still are now w new groups such as blackpink or whatever they listen to now lol
6 of us are the same age [1989: TaeYeon - Jessica - Tiffany - HyoYeon - Sunny - YuRi ] [ 1990: SooYoung - YoonA] [1991: SeoHyun] She included Jessica in this counting!! ot9
@@itssatria yup, she at first said 7, which would be '89 and sooyoung (sooyoung is an early '90) but corrected herself to 6, which would be '89 without Sica plus Sooyoung [could be '89 without soo but I think it would be with soo], since they don't really count her as a younger one like yoona and seohyun.
@@JakeReeves001 Well all of us wanted to hear her speak about that. Like a complete official statement. But even though she's out of SME, she's still part of SNSD. She won't still be allowed to talk about that unless SME makes the first move to tell the whole truth, that's the only time we will know about everything. 💔💔💔
This was the best interview I have ever seen, it was so authentic in every single way and I'm glad I got to see Tiffany talk about so much stuff that she has never done before. I have been a fan of Girls' Generation about a decade now myself and watching how far they have come and how much they have grown really inspires me and amazes me. I am also a entertainer and I know exactly what it's like to go through a journey like that. Thank you Zach for this amazing interview!!!! Much Love to Tiffany as well on her new Ep ^_^
i can still see how she's trying to filter every answers she gives but she's getting there old habits die hard they say. but this is sooooo refreshing seeing her break out of that bond of perfection that makes kpop artist (im calling them that now) puppets of these entertainment companies. i hope this would open minds and change kpop for the better.
Right! I also felt that in the way she used words or formulated her ideas in a certain way. I was actually surprised because (in the 25 minutes I've watched (for now) she still hasn't answered a single question by giving a direct answer! Or when they ask her about companies, or idols in general. Which reminds me a lot of the way people talk in korean radio show :3
Her passion and authenticity is sooo empowering. She remains grounded despite popularity. I love how her talk explains how being an artist shouldn't really be about competition or trying to be better than any other artist but about expressing themselves and connecting with people through their art and passion. Her growth as an artist showed on how she deals with things in a mature and professional manner. Such a gem.
*Thank you Zach for such a wonderful interview with Tiffany!* *And I can't stop smiling throughout the interview because Tiffany is not just beaming and glowing beautifully but she is bubbling with enthusiasm and energy whenever she speaks and gestures.* *For those who are unsure, Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun merely completed their contracts with SM Entertainment and left the label but they managed to keep their positions with Girls' Generation (aka SNSD) so they are still part of Girls' Generation. This is quite an unprecedented move for girls groups in kpop but with their teamwork and unity, it is definitely possible to see SNSD continue to thrive in a transnational and multi-label environment.* *Even now, SNSD is planning to release a new subunit and Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun have new plans, dramas and movies lining up for their upcoming activities too. Stay tuned!*
She’s so modest, Girls Generation are the nations girl group, they hold THAT title forever🙌🏼👑 Iconic, strong and individual women who’ve helped inspire me to live my life the best I can🤗🧡

I’M SOOOO PROUD OF U FANYYY AAAHHH 😭😭😭
Being a Girls' Generation fan since about 8 years ago....this is so wild to watch. Seeing more than 75% of GG's career play out live and then seeing this just feels surreal....it's like I'm getting an inside view after all these years.
I teared up watching this, I'm so happy that Tiffany is following her dreams. She is so humble and empowering, Girls Generation was the nation's girl group in their time and they will forever remain revolutionary and iconic.
tiffany's words are so meaningful. it's like she's teaching everyone how to be happy, loyal and believing in your dreams. i love the way she express her pride being in girls' generation and the fact that the group itself was about creating dreams together and staying as one family. she's really the gem of snsd. so proud of you and all the snsd girls. you guys are really the CREAM OF THE CROP and staying humble with all your success. i SALUTE you guys. #GG4EVA #SONE ❤
27:37 PREACH!! OMG ZACH !! @SMTOWN He crack your code. I've been a fan of Kpop (SONE) since 2008 and I can assure u, SNSD is the starter of idols with sns era (they're not the first but they make it popular among idols).. and SNSD are all about being human.. they're always called for breaking their image by being silly, and they cry when it's really tough, interviews, reality shows. Even their own company's CEO (Kim Young Min) once said SNSD has a limit when they wouldn't be needed by the company anymore.. back then a lot predict their popularity would gone after The Boys... BUT THEY CONTINUE PROVING EVERYONE WRONG. They strive not just being a decade group but actually being at the top for a decade! Now even the company admit they can't let go of SNSD coz the brand is still highly valued by people. You might think this is silly but I really gonna go long with them coz they influenced my 10s, 20s, and (probably) 30s. #GG4EVA
Sure, but now every group does things like interviews, variety shows, social media etc. that shows them from a personal side. So basically what Zach is saying isn't quite true, at least now, it's a bit too much woke take for me.
2:30 Tiffany is humble. Girls' Generation's "Gee" was definitely the start of the hallyu wave for sure. That's the big moment that kick started everything.
I could sense that Zach was digging for deeper answers that Tiffany wasn’t really ready for She gave a little bit away but I think she gets caught up in roundabout blanket answers then answering the question in still a safe way, I WAS THIRSTY FOR MORE TEA
matt r, that’s so true. He always looks for very deep answers with the kpop artists, but some in their prime like blackpink and others that have been on the show can barley talk about anything. So, I think she did a good job and opened up well I’m the interview. I’m really proud of her, but I also want more tea as well lol. :))))))
I love Tiffany, but I'm more cynical. You can rightly criticize Tiffany for her "roundabout blanket answers", because SM doesn't treat their employees well. Just watch Amber Liu of f(x)'s more critical, forthright, and revealing interview on CBS This Morning. Recall how SM appeared to have abandoned Tiffany, when she posted Japan's flag accidentally. You're correct that Tiffany certainly wasn't ready to spill the beans or castigate the KPop industry. I wasn't impressed that she just deflected or evaded - albeit politely and charmingly - most of Zach's critical questions.
This was so raw. The questions were amazing. The conversation flowed. Tiffany is such a genuine, humble queen. This interview couldn't have been more perfect! 💕
THIS IS DEFINITELY TIFFANY'S "BEST INTERVIEW-RADIO INTERACTION" EVER!!!!! ZACH DID A GREAT JOB. HE REALLY DID A GOOD JOB CONVERSING WHOLE-HEARTEDLY WITH TIFFANY AND I'M SO HAPPY. MY GIRL IS SO AMAZING, SHE'S REALLY THE BESTEST & AN AMAZING WOMAN TO ME. I LOVE YOU TIFFANY YOUNG. 💖😍😘💝✨
At 26:40, Zach talked about people wanting to see people they could be friends with. Girls Generation literally paved the way for girl groups who on tv shows showed their real selves. They were not afraid to make a fool of themselves and they were hilarious and relatable. Just watch early Soshi reality tv. I (and many fans) connected with girls who had a bond. I do think as years went by Soshi started to feel like they had to keep up a reputation though.
I never got into Girl's Generation, but I stayed because Tiffany's got a great personality. I love her being so genuine and open. I wish her all the best!
NouhaylaSone thank you for the recs!! I'll check them out bc I really loved how she was in this and I'm interested in learning more from her and the group 😁
I swear this is the best interview I have ever heard. The questions I had for the kpop system or questions for kpop itself or for the idols/artists were all answered. Tiffany was the best guest to answer all the questions. She was so humble as well.
I appreciate this interviewer! His questions aren't repetitive. He seems interested in the subject and like he genuinely wants to know more about her, enjoyed every minute of this. Tiffany's work ethic is truly admirable ❤️
being a SNSD fan since the beginning, it's kind of sad to say this is the most talking i've actually heard from tiffany, its so nice seeing this laid back/raw interview style~ thank you!
Man !! You have no idea how amazing seeing this as a kpop fan for over 8 years !! You think you know the industry and then she comes back in and show you more to it although she has revealed about 10% of what idols go through, the rest will be delivered later as she is slowly making the change that kpop needs, this is her first time ever and she is still learning to find her voice outside Korea or Asia in general, and I can assure you she is growing up to be the ARTIST a lot of idols and us will be thankful for, she will change the rules and she has just started !!! Tiffany you have my full love and support. You are an inspiration to many people and just when the time is right I am certain you, along with the girls, will be back to bless us as a group because #GG4EVA
Words just cannot describe how much love I have for this incredible woman... she is absolutely one of a kind like she amazes me more and more each day, which I didn't even think was possible at this point 💖 Throughout her entire career in the K-pop industry, Tiffany has continuously put in the effort and hard work to build and grow not only as an artist but as a person and to me she has blossomed into one of the realest people in the industry, and I really hope she knows this and is so proud of herself for this journey as we all definitely are 😊 This girl gets so much undeserved shit and hate thrown at her way CONSTANTLY, on almost every level from everything to her voice, her speech, her appearance, her manners, just EVERYTHING which she can't catch a break from and what for.. and yet in the midst of this she STILL remains upbeat and positive, taking everything in her stride, be it praise or criticism and coming out stronger than ever. It's obvious how much she struggled during some of her controversies (admittedly most of which came from them being blown heavily out of proportion both due to Koreas culture and the general vendetta people have against Tiffany), but I'm so so SO proud to see her bounce back and be the bright and happy Tiffany we know and love, like.... I really just adore her with all my heart 😥😥😭😭 Tiffany really is just one of a kind and I am so thankful that I have the privilege of being a fan of her and SNSD as a whole and have watched her become the amazing person she is today 💖 It's so refreshing to see her in this side of the industry being able to express more freedom and settle into herself and I will be right behind her all the way in this new journey
This was the most authentic interview I have heard about korean pop culture. Tiffany was able to open up about a lot of things from her experiences and it was very nice to see you guys have an genuine conversation about kpop and what us happening in the system without any sugar coating. Thank you for this interview. Please keeping doing what you do Zach, it was great!
Been a fan of girls generation for so long. This is the first time I get such authentic interview, understand everything she says and high quality video. Thank you so much!
i think that tiffany is the best interviewee. never seen anyone this smooth , cheerful and fluent in what she is thinking. better than most hollywood actors in night talk shows.
This was great, I was never a huge SNSD fan but I really enjoyed listening to her experience in the industry. I absolutely love that she's breaking out and doing what she wants, Zach hit the head on the nail when he said people want authenticity not robots. The whole kpop industry is beginning to understand this and its great to see. Artists like Bigbang, B.A.P, Block B, BTS, and many others really helped redefine what being an idol by making their music their own, not what the company wanted. That is honestly what kept me being a fan after discovering kpop back in 2011 beyond the pretty people and catchy music. Also I believe the fans have the most power, we support the artist after they leave, we can convince companies to change their opinion, we decide whats ok for them and not ok. So everyone keep supporting your favourite 'artists' and respect their individuality and privacy, its the best thing we can do for them and the industry.
And just to know that Yesterday Sone launched a project "From Sone to Sm" in which they address a number of issues concerning SNSD and how those can be fixed and demanding justice is truly overwhelming! It shows that a change is on the way and if you want something you need to work hard for it.
"When the timing is right, the stars will align" I love it. It's a mark that Girls' Generation will never disband. It will just take a matter of time and SONEs will patiently wait for that time to come.
Great work Zach. As a longtime Tiffany fan (and as someone not familiar with your program), I was worried that the interview might devolve into something less than desirable, but I was very impressed by the background knowledge you brought to the interview (esp. in regards to your awareness of kpop). Thanks for helping to promote her by giving her this opportunity!
@@doc-vg9lq How are you so sure that is the reason why jessica is out of SNSD? It's not like you were there when it happened! You guys should just mind your own business, stop talking shit about other people!
dude your interviews are literally the best, ive picked up a hobby where i just exercise and listen to all your interviews with certain artists and it has been going really great
mehawaarahoon 6 of them tae, tiff, hyo, sunny, yuri and Jessica and 3 of the maknaes sooyoung, yoona and seo. She corrected herself when she said 7 cause Sooyong doesn’t call them unnie lmao 😂😂
Don't blame everything on the "'idol' creating companies". They are merely a reflection of Korean society. It's not the companies that wanted 'perfection', per say, but the public itself. It's the public that bashes idols for dating, not the companies. The companies are just trying to protect their stock.(See Hyuna's recent experience with the public after admiting she was dating, even though she's 26!)
harlemw651 KPOP's platform now is not primarily based in Korea anymore, which was the case when it started. The companies are proud of how KPOP has become a global thing now, but still refuse to cater to, and I dare say, a great part of the population they cater to--- the international fans, which is what they talked about in the interview.
They are the ones perpetuating it though. The companies are going 'look at what we can create' which does nothing to help the high standard of Korean society. You grow what you feed so to speak. Public opinion is HIGHLY influenced by the media. The companies know exactly what they're doing -- they create these groups and they feel close to you, right? You feel like you know them because they're modest and personal (vs. American celebrities who are huge and feel WAY out of reach), that is why fans feel entitled over these groups and scream the 'you can't date because then it doesn't feel like I am close to you anymore!'
Sydney W Entertainment CAN have a big effect on society, but only to a society that's open to change. As much as some things have changed in Korea, the k-pop fans (of Korea) still seem pretty close-minded. I'm not saying the companies couldn't do more to sway public opinion, but you can't put ALL the responsibility on their shoulders. The society a company operates in must be open to change as well. The people of that society must share some of the responsibility of change, not just wait until the media forces them to.
UglyASMR lol "Tiffany ain't trying to make Korea kill her twice". It may be deep for some but at some point people have to look at the larger issues going on in K-pop/Korea. I'm not saying it has to be Tiffany but interviewers and artists who have "broken free" from the K-pop system shouldn't naively blame everything on the companies because it removes personal responsibility from fans, idols, artists, etc that take part in toxic aspects of the culture. You can't just blame the companies if you support the culture behind it, that feeds it and that makes it what it is today. I don't think K-pop fans are too young or naive to understand that. Staying silent about it helps toxic aspects of the culture continue. Pointing at the company is one thing, but look deeper at the society it's feeding.
I believe she repeated more than once "I will take you to Korea" not "you have to say this to the idol' creating companies" she knows the society is part of it, we know too.
I have to take the time and say as a fan of Girls’ Generation for many years, thank you for having Tiffany on your show and having a wonderful & honest interview. It was refreshing yet raw to see this side of her. I hope more & more future KPop artist will have a voice & freedom to express in their craft and hope many success for Tiffany!
Some people might not understand why Tiffany is acting like having feelings is the craziest thing on earth or making small problems everyone faces in to big deals it’s because she was so used to really being perfect and pollished as she was in an old group were no one liked authenticity back in those times and she finally just got to show herself and let loose to the world and I’m sure she’s trying to get comfortable to her new and improved life! 💖
34:13-34:55 Tiffany talking about her fans (fandom name) suggestions, and apparently she choses "Young Ones" because "yeongwon" means forever in Korean~~ 💖💖💖 #teamyoungones
Zach! Thank you so much for making this interview happen with Tiffany! I’ve been a huge fan of girls generation and I’ve never seen an interview so honest and raw with Tiffany before. I felt like I’ve made an even greater connection with Tiffany through this.
I love it! My queen spoke it all. Tiffany isn't my bias in GG, but when it comes to authenticity, nobody in the group can beat Tiffany and Taeyeon. And that's what i love about the both of them. When i first got hooked onto the kpop culture, i admit that all i looked out for was perfection. I only supported kpop groups that consisted of the best visuals, vocals, rappers and dancers, which explains why i became a huge fan of snsd. it's been 10 years, so much has changed. i watched my girls grow and mature, and witnessed their ups and downs. they became more open to sharing about their feelings and opinions which really warmed my heart. i must say that snsd is the reason why i am no longer looking out for perfection, but rather authenticity. i believe in loving and supporting an artist for who she really is. no matter how beautiful or amazing an idol's voice/dancing skills can be, it doesn't portray the idol's identity. i know of many rookie groups that gained popularity over these few years, but what i see in these groups is perfection but not authenticity. many artists, because of the pressure they receive from this kpop idol system, they force themselves to act as people they are not. im not gonna name the groups out of respect for them, but im kinda just super upset that kpop companies have forced their artists to become people they are not. I love Girls Generation, not just because they are the definition of perfection, but because they show fans the best versions of themselves which is what makes them authentic. I love you snsd, thank you zach for giving tiff such a great opportunity!
You can really tell she is passionate about what she is doing, especially Girls' Generation. Tiffany sones are so so proud of you! 11 years of GG and many more to come!
I'm so glad that Tiffany is talking about the deep topics, that we don't really get to see as fans. Thank you Zach for asking all those insightful questions and letting her open up about how it actually is than how it is perceived.
Zach! I watched this full interview this week, here in Oct 2022, so more than 4 YEARS after it was recorded. I don't expect you to see this comment or read it; but this interview, this conversation! Wow! The future of Kpop, the evolution that the viewpoint & definition of 'idol' is a change that needs to happen! So important, so necessary - yet the music industry & for lack of a better word, 'machine', in Korea built up around this universal art form that is music - is built around it NOT changing. And here we are, 4 years after this - & very, very little has evolved, or even shifted towards more autonomy for the ARTISTS (not idols) within Korea, more choice & more freedom. Thank you so much, for asking these important questions. And 'Thank You!' to Tiffany Young, of course - for having the courage to forge a new path, with all the anxiety n' uncertainty that this brings with it. Where she has led, by example - others within Kpop, will SURELY follow! Nothing but love, Zach!🥰🥰
Please invite tiffany again now that they had their comeback as group. This interview is very insightful and I love how fany keep the conversation going by being herself. Love u fany! 💗🎀

This
Tiffany is from what ppl call the 2nd generation of Kpop.
2nd gen started 2003 with tvxq
Sims Rock 99 TVXQ isn't 2nd generation. They belong to generation 1.5 same with BoA. 2nd generation started around 05~06 with Super Junior and Big Bang as two of its biggest artists.
Na Na There is a generation 1.5. The 'in between' of the pioneers and the internet age. 2000-2003/04 is the Generation 1.5.
They grew up together and they find themselves together with those people who's always with you
I love your username
Red Velvet's Kingdom Come issa BOP Imagine a squad like them who can talk what they hate about their members publicly. That’s how deep their friendship is, they can diss a member without having any conflicts between them. My squad still haven’t reached that kind of friendship because we still feel jealous to each member. But unlike them, they can say what they envy about their members and since they have different personalities they can shine together. That’s how perfect this group is, they have individuality and togetherness.

Having Tiffany in the U.S and giving interviews is so much different from Korea. You were able to really talk about things that usually wouldn't be for idols, such as company control (even though we all know). Loved it!!
She only revealed 1% as u said we all know but we know she is more concerned about her sisters that's why she is still controlling what she knows
Agreed, she handled it all very well. Only talking about things people know (like not having a self phone during predebut)

So little has changed within Kpop, for the freedom & choice given to these 'idols', who are actually individual artists.
It's such an important conversation & discussion, now more than ever.

I loved it. Zach is just aweseome! I've never seen a bad interview by him
Tiffany is so honest and I love how she had shown the hard reality of big companies like SM and being a k-pop artist.
Such a gem.
*Thank you Zach for such a wonderful interview with Tiffany!*
*And I can't stop smiling throughout the interview because Tiffany is not just beaming and glowing beautifully but she is bubbling with enthusiasm and energy whenever she speaks and gestures.*
*For those who are unsure, Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun merely completed their contracts with SM Entertainment and left the label but they managed to keep their positions with Girls' Generation (aka SNSD) so they are still part of Girls' Generation. This is quite an unprecedented move for girls groups in kpop but with their teamwork and unity, it is definitely possible to see SNSD continue to thrive in a transnational and multi-label environment.*
*Even now, SNSD is planning to release a new subunit and Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun have new plans, dramas and movies lining up for their upcoming activities too. Stay tuned!*

Words just cannot describe how much love I have for this incredible woman... she is absolutely one of a kind like she amazes me more and more each day, which I didn't even think was possible at this point 💖
Throughout her entire career in the K-pop industry, Tiffany has continuously put in the effort and hard work to build and grow not only as an artist but as a person and to me she has blossomed into one of the realest people in the industry, and I really hope she knows this and is so proud of herself for this journey as we all definitely are 😊
This girl gets so much undeserved shit and hate thrown at her way CONSTANTLY, on almost every level from everything to her voice, her speech, her appearance, her manners, just EVERYTHING which she can't catch a break from and what for.. and yet in the midst of this she STILL remains upbeat and positive, taking everything in her stride, be it praise or criticism and coming out stronger than ever. I really just adore her with all my heart 😥😥😭😭
Tiffany really is just one of a kind and I am so thankful that I have the privilege of being a fan of her and SNSD as a whole and have watched her become the amazing person she is today 💖 It's so refreshing to see her in this side of the industry being able to express more freedom and settle into herself and I will be right behind her all the way in this new journey

i think that tiffany is the best interviewee. never seen anyone this smooth , cheerful and fluent in what she is thinking. better than most hollywood actors in night talk shows.
She's a such a well spoken person. Plus she's gorgeous too!
So everyone keep supporting your favourite 'artists' and respect their individuality and privacy, its the best thing we can do for them and the industry.
yess right!!!!!
MidnightEkaki I’m glad you loved the interview. And welcome to the fandom!
And just to know that Yesterday Sone launched a project "From Sone to Sm" in which they address a number of issues concerning SNSD and how those can be fixed and demanding justice is truly overwhelming! It shows that a change is on the way and if you want something you need to work hard for it.
This comment needs to be on the top!
"When the timing is right, the stars
will align"
I love it.
Make a Jessica interview next ! I’d like to hear about her too ! I loved this interview!
Still waiting on her American debut...
jessica was self centered. that is why they kicked her. her fans are so annoying.
@@doc-vg9lq How are you so sure that is the reason why jessica is out of SNSD? It's not like you were there when it happened! You guys should just mind your own business, stop talking shit about other people!
@@doc-vg9lq okay shut up
also dont you think you are more self centered? and dont be jealous that she has fans and you dont.
@@doc-vg9lq fuck u
dude your interviews are literally the best, ive picked up a hobby where i just exercise and listen to all your interviews with certain artists and it has been going really great
When she said "7 of us", than she turned it to "6 of us"... I know that she believe that SNSD is always gonna be 9 in her heart.
jayt 48 she still did include jessica cause sooyoung yoona and seohyun weren't born the same year as them
mehawaarahoon 6 of them tae, tiff, hyo, sunny, yuri and Jessica and
3 of the maknaes sooyoung, yoona and seo. She corrected herself when she said 7 cause
Sooyong doesn’t call them unnie lmao 😂😂
mehawaarahoon so 9 in total👑
Tiffany being herself is so beautiful to watch. She's also representing and speaking for Kpop in America which is also beautiful.
I hope more & more future KPop artist will have a voice & freedom to express in their craft and hope many success for Tiffany!
i like that she keeps smiling.. ugh she's so gorgeous!!!!!
Cocaine is hella good drug
I love you snsd, thank you zach for giving tiff such a great opportunity!
this is so real. best kpop interview so far. absolutely love it
Say it with your chest Tiff “ *WE WORKED OUR ASSES OFF* “!!!!! Well deserved title and a healthy 10 year run, more years to come👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You can really tell she is passionate about what she is doing, especially Girls' Generation.
