This is exactly why you don't take offense for someone else's regard. The misinterpreting of what is considered offensive to them or inappropriate happens too frequently.

I’m not defending hoyo, but from a gameplay perspective, it would be pretty hard to have a character with long, tight clothing. It would make things like running look weird.
I mean the female characters can literally fight, run, jump and move around freely with those GODDAMN HEELS i think it would be possible with a tight skirt too lmao
if they watched any anime with a summer festival they would of seen very similar outfits so you can tell they didn't even do that, heck even Persona 5 has the females wearing the short versions for the summer fireworks event
the Japanese have no problem with that either 🤣, they liked it and know how to separate reality from fiction, unlike some whiny American Twitter users 🤣
I will never understand Americans. When Fontaine came out it was half French and half English, all the English were in the fortress of meropide. It made me laugh. America didn't have a problem with that tho, so it shows that all they want is attention.
ironic considering that japanese have a relatively big part of the people who can't differentiate fiction and reality (i'm not saying "most people" but japan is one of the country where there is the most people like that -> idols being attacked)
As an American, I apologize DEEPLY for the Western game base… for some strange reason, the people over here get way too offended way too easily, and it’s always for something we shouldn’t even want to try to defend. Teyvat is the planet they live on not the country they're from. It's like saying I'm from earth not America. Also, each region in teyvat is based on REAL cultures and REAL parts of the world. Although it's fictional every single character in Genshin is based on actual cultures that exist.
@friskcharala Inazuma is a fictional place bro. Doesn't matter if it's has real life characteristics or culture. They can do whatever and give you the middle finger, which they do. Read their tos bro. They tell you straight it's all fictional and if it's offends you then that's a you problem.

Genshin isn't sexualizing characters. The twitter players do... i didn't even notice the short skirt until they pointed it out. The first thing they see is that, obviously... THEY'RE the ones sexualizing characters if that's the only thing they're focusing on. They're sad when hoyo designs "flat" characters, but when they don't, they consider it disrespectful
Actually when I saw her design, I noticed cute capibara 😅I mean it's cute like her huh, I love her design Plus anyway it's strange like.. Raiden's kimono Is way more revealing than Mizuki's outfit:'/ it's strange
What about the Japanese players who also dislike the design choices? Also the ult making people uncomfortable and over sexualizing a character to the point it’s uncomfortable for players of that game is valid criticism. The entire ult is super weird compared to other ults for even women (take Ganyu, Hu Tao, even Raiden who pulls a sword from her tits is less overtly sexual).
@ So you’re going to sit here and tell me a girl in a maid adjacent outfit showing her butt towards the screen with her tail almost lifting her skirt up isn’t, at all, meant to be sexual in any way?
@ Having a design or animation with elements for sexual appeal is okay when done in a way that doesn’t do…this. This is entirely uncomfortable. Also this game is targeted for all ages, including young teens and pre-teens, and I don’t think it’s okay to target that audience and then pull something like this. Even if it wasn’t targeted towards that audience, it’s still massively uncomfortable for the average player to be greeted with that sort of burst for just wanting a cute Inazuman character. It is on Hoyo for intentionally making an animation that is read by most people to be rather sexual, especially with a teen and young adult target audience.
